Brad “Scarface” Jordan — Houston's own “every rapper's favorite rapper” — turned 55, and he's celebrating like a man who earned every year. How do we relate to the civil laws that we find in Exodus which organized young Israel as a nation but are no longer binding on God's people? What can we learn from these things that sound strange, obscure, or even offensive to us?

In this powerful expository message on Revelation 6:9-17, we move from the earthly calamities of the Four Horsemen to the final, ultimate realities of divine judgment. This passage confronts us with the two great questions that define history: "How long?" (the cry of the martyrs) and "Who can stand?" (the terror of the unrepentant).

This passage explains what it is to be saved in Christ. The desire of God to restore all things to righteousness and holiness required a last Adam who would obey God fully. His death justified sinners and enabled them to be reconciled to God. However, God desires more, full fellowship, which requires sanctification to holiness. Jesus' resurrection assures that process which will be completed when beleivers are resurrected on the Last Day.

We live in a world that doesn't like kings. We prefer freedom, autonomy, and the right to rule ourselves. We want control—over our choices, our image, our future. But deep down, every one of us serves something. It might be ambition, comfort, fear, or the approval of others, but none of us is truly throne-less. Someone—or something—reigns in our hearts. The question is, who?Israel wrestled with that same question long ago. They had all the signs of religion, all the rituals of devotion, yet they lived as if God's throne were empty. And it cost them dearly. But then, in one remarkable chapter, everything began to change. First Samuel 7 describes a people learning again what it means to live under the rule of the Almighty—and what happens when they finally let God reign.
