While Chaplain Frank Mercer was away from the Huddle, local pastor Bo Nelson shared a message from 2 Chronicles 33. It's the story of King Manasseh, who lived in clear rebellion of God. The King also led the people of Judah astray. But Manasseh's story didn't end there! His repentance led him to be different and behave differently... and that's what happens to those who have experienced true restoration and forgiveness.
Bo Nelson is fascinating human being. He took his three generations of experience in growing, plants and trees, (Family Tree Nursery) and began researching how to grow coffee. Today, he has very successful coffee joints. He also roasts and sells many different kinds of coffee. Bo is quite the entrepreneur in the area of coffee joints. His places are as unique as his visualization for future projects. This is one cool, original cat. To Contact Bo Nelson, El Honcho @_bo_nelson @though_mayest @cafeequinox 816 - 868 6354

More about Josiah "Bo" Nelson: Thou Mayest Coffee Roasters is at the heart of a Kansas City movement driven by innovation and craft. Every day, artists, entrepreneurs, government leaders, non-profit and startup leaders connect over coffee at Thou Mayest, fueling their passion to advance their city. Co-owner/majority stakeholder Bo Nelson is a big reason why. Bo is a homegrown Kansas Citian, whose blend of rural and urban life experience reflects the city he serves. Bo grew up on a farm, working his family’s 10-acre nursery where he honed horticultural skills, learned business basics, and developed a hard work ethic that is evident in everything he does. Bo traveled the world, but felt the call back home, inspired to put his mark on the culture of the city he loves. Bo started Thou Mayest Coffee Roasters in 2012, built upon the idea that communities grow through connections and conversations over a good drink. Thou Mayest is named in reference to a passage from John Steinbeck’s East of Eden, and the shop’s design/atmosphere is equal parts Jacques Cousteau, Frank Zappa and the Boy Scouts of America. One visit and it’s evident that Bo has created a magnetic space that is itself alive, gathering people of all backgrounds and interests to have a drink and foster collaboration. As Howard Schultz said, "I was taken by the power that savoring a simple cup of coffee can have to connect people and create community." For today’s podcast, Matt DeCoursey welcomes guest co-host (one of his favorite entrepreneurs he admits) Bo Nelson, the co-owner and majority stakeholder of Thou Mayest Coffee Roaster. In this episode of Startup Hustle, Nelson shares interesting facts and a history of how coffee came to the country. Nelson conveys his passion for the business and freely shares his own entrepreneurship advice. Nelson traveled the world, but this homegrown Kansas Citian needed to go back to his roots. He went back home and built a coffee roasting gang in 2012. Nelson and his companions wanted to form a community through active conversations and connections over a very good cup of coffee.
