David Geurin is a principal and lead learner at Bolivar High School in Bolivar, Missouri. He earned his doctorate in Educational Leadership and Policy Analysis from the University of Missouri. Beyond his principalship, Geurin teaches graduate education classes for Southwest Baptist University and Regent University. In 2013, his school was named a National Blue Ribbon School and he was honored as principal of the year for his state. Additionally, he was recognized as a NASSP Digital Principal in 2017. Furthermore, Geurin is the author of a landmark book titled: “Future Driven” which focuses on empowering students to navigate an unpredictable world. In the episode, Geurin talks about compliance vs. empowered students, shares his vision for improving education, and challenges educators to use their unique gifts. Later, Brielle joins Audrey and Brayden as they reflect on teacher characteristics that they enjoy most.

Among other things, he shares about his epic SWAT team at Bolivar High School who are armed with technical knowledge, not weaponry. In today’s episode, Kathryn Cole of Springfield MO and I dive into stories of selling two major undertakings to her administrators, and how she did it all in her THIRD YEAR at her middle school! Listen Kathryn Cole Kathryn Cole earned her bachelor’s degree in vocal music education from Evangel University in May of 2008. She continued on to receive a master’s of music in choral conducting from Missouri State University. Upon graduating in 2010, Cole began serving on the faculty of Evangel University, Ozarks Technical Community College, and Grace Classical Academy where she spent the first four years of her teaching career. She also served as an accompanist and conductor for Children's Choirs of Southwest Missouri for two seasons. Cole is in her third year as the Director of Vocal Music and Piano Lab Specialist at Bolivar Middle School in Bolivar, Missouri. She is also the color guard coach at Bolivar High School. She soon plans to pursue a doctoral degree with a focus in choral conducting. Cole is the owner of ColeCreative, LLC. - a client-centered brand development agency. She also works as Director of Talent for SPARK Events in Springfield, Missouri. She grew up in Munford, Tennessee and is the daughter of The Honorable Mr. and Mrs. Dwayne Cole. Support the show on
