Then we get to "Don't (And DO) Do This" before the guys are joined by our buddy Darren Smith who makes his weekly appearance and gives us his thoughts on SDFC's big Game 3 matchup with Portland on Sunday, the Padres hiring of Craig Stammen as manager, and more! Firstly, let's get one this straight - Cam Schlittler is illiterate. He can not read, he can not write, and he can not stop getting cooked by fans. That's right folks, Cam Schlitter used AI to write an apology to the city he was raised in. It's a very common thing for absolute clowns to do. Lucas Giolito and the Boston Red Sox are in agreement on declining their mutual option. The Boston Red Sox did not extend Giolito a qualifying offer. It's a shame, he would have been such a wonderful 60-day IL. Trevor Story, on the other hand, opts in to the remaining two years of his deal. We're happy about it. The off-season started by needing all four infield positions filled, now you only need three. We will welcome Trevor Story with open arms! At second base! Hosted by Simplecast, an AdsWizz company. Thank you for coming back and pressing play on this week's show. I've got a jam-packed episode featuring a major champion…and two of the most dedicated and respected teachers in our game. Leading things off is my great friend Shaun Micheel, the 2003 PGA Champion, and one of the very first guests to ever join this show. This marks Shaun's 39th appearance here, and as always, he brings thoughtful insight and honesty. We get into just how tough it is to qualify for the Champions Tour — and why winning a major doesn't automatically open that door. We also dive into how LIV has forced the PGA Tour to evolve, whether Shaun would consider playing if LIV launched a senior circuit, and we check in on how his Indiana Hoosiers have been surprising folks this football season. Then I'm joined by James Hong, a U.S. Kids Golf Lifetime Master Teacher, and one-third of the famed Two Hoosiers & a Hong trio. James gives us a fascinating look into coaching young players today — in a world where instant gratification, TrackMan numbers, and social comparison are everywhere. We talk expectations, patience, parents, and how to keep the fun and curiosity alive in junior golf. Be sure to come back for Part 2, because another one of the Hoosiers joins me — Scott Munroe, longtime Teaching Professional at the extremely exclusive Nantucket Golf Club. Scott shares what it's like teaching at one of the most private clubs in America, how he earned the nickname “99,” and why he teaches juniors backwards — starting at the hole and working back to the tee. He also gives us some great drills to keep our swings sharp through the winter months. It's an insightful and really fun episode — full of stories, wisdom, and a whole lot of passion for growing the game. Thanks as always for taking the journey with me.

In this conversation, Annabelle discusses the importance of language in shaping our mindset and the concept of necessity in life. She emphasises the need to eliminate absolute words like 'have to' and 'must' to foster a sense of freedom and choice. Annabelle argues that the only true necessities in life are basic human needs and socialisation, challenging the notion of obligatory achievements and qualifications. Alex Buciu's story reads like something from another era. From endodontics in Romania to amalgams in Northern Ireland, his path through dentistry mirrors a deeper journey through loss, resilience and reinvention. When your mum dies at 14 and you're watching it happen, something shifts inside. When you arrive in a new country with £3,100 in your pocket—half of it borrowed—you learn what matters. Alex talks about communication trumping clinical skill every time, about choosing kindness when you're capable of violence, and why he'd rather be a brilliant generalist than a mediocre anything-else. There's philosophy here, hard-won wisdom, and the kind of honesty that only comes from someone who's genuinely fought for everything they have.In This Episode00:02:15 - Qualifying in Romania and building an endodontics practice 00:03:10 - The shock of NHS dentistry 00:08:40 - Why leave Romania 00:18:45 - Finding mentor Kieran 00:20:05 - Arriving with £3,100 00:26:00 - How to choose courses wisely 00:26:45 - The occlusion eureka moment 00:32:05 - Why not endodontics in the UK 00:37:35 - Moving to Peterborough 00:42:45 - Building from zero patients 00:44:00 - Favourite courses and lecturers 00:52:40 - Communication beats clinical skill 00:58:15 - Growing up under Ceaușescu 01:08:25 - Losing his mother at 14 01:14:20 - Volunteering in trauma 01:17:10 - Near-death experiences 01:24:50 - Blackbox thinking 01:35:40 - Fantasy dinner party 01:41:55 - Last days and legacyAbout Alex BuciuAlex qualified in Romania in 2004 and built a successful endodontics-focused practice before moving to Northern Ireland in 2018, later settling in Peterborough. Charlie Puth breaks down his new single "Changes," a maximalist eighties production hiding a melancholy story about drifting friendships. As he prepares for fatherhood, the singer-songwriter reflects on how relationships evolve from deep conversations to small talk, why he listens to lyrics last, and his belief that music should offer a three-minute escape from life's exhaustion. Between demonstrating vocal techniques, championing forgotten producer Rod Temperton, and turning "You Are My Sunshine" into a minor-key lullaby, Puth makes his case for earning the title "Professor," with one simple lesson: stop overthinking and just feel the music. Max Verstappen dominates the United States Grand Prix closing in on the drivers championship. Has Piastri lost his machismo? Norris looking more like a number one... This week's Nasir Hameed corner we celebrate successful women in Motorsports with Lynn Saint James and Tatiana Calderon! AUSTIN, TEXAS - OCTOBER 19: Race winner Max Verstappen of the Netherlands and Oracle Red Bull Racing and Chris Gent, Chief Mechanic at Oracle Red Bull Racing celebrate on the podium with Champagne during the F1 Grand Prix of United States at Circuit of The Americas on October 19, 2025 in Austin, Texas. (Photo by Jared C. Tilton/Getty Images) Max: “It was a perfect weekend and I think the start was key today. The pace wasn't magic but we got a good start on the first stint and Charles got in the middle of myself and Lando which helped a lot and as soon as Lando was in clean air he was very fast. We just did the best we could and tried to manage our tyres in the best way possible even though they were overheating a bit. This performance was exactly what we need until the end of the season to fight for the title. The Team has done a great job, I'm having fun and it's exciting for everyone. The performance of the car has been better and we need to keep the momentum going. We really maximised everything with the points and we need to continue having these perfect weekends until the end of the season. I am very happy to win again.” Laurent: “This has definitely been our strongest weekend in a long while. On a burning hot track, where we have found it tricky here in the past, Max kept extending the gap to his opponents in every session. If you see how tight it was on Friday, even though he was on pole for the Sprint, and then today, it was a substantial improvement. Once again, I want to thank everyone at the track and those back at base, who have been taking risks in terms of pushing everything to the limit, it's uncomfortable, but the work they are doing is unbelievable and it's paying off. They have unlocked so much from the car. AUSTIN, TEXAS - OCTOBER 18: Pole position qualifier Max Verstappen of the Netherlands and Oracle Red Bull Racing Second placed qualifier Lando Norris of Great Britain and McLaren and Third placed qualifier Charles Leclerc of Monaco and Scuderia Ferrari look on during Qualifying ahead of the F1 Grand Prix of United States at Circuit of The Americas on October 18, 2025 in Austin, Texas. (Photo by Rudy Carezzevoli/Getty Images) We never took anything for granted, ultimately finding more and more performance as the weekend progressed. Max is driving at an incredible level and keeps raising the bar. We are going to continue with our approach for the upcoming races, starting by seeing how we can put the best possible car on track in Mexico. Yuki also enjoyed a strong weekend, especially today when he made up six places in the race, bringing home some useful points to add to those he scored in the Sprint yesterday. Finally, thank you and congratulations to our partners Mobil and Mobil 1 as we celebrate our 75th win together. It's been a strong and successful partnership and we look forward to celebrating many more together.” Fernando: "We started tenth and finished there, so we come away with one point in the end. We didn't really have the pace to fight for anything more than P10 and it seems we had a bit more performance in Qualifying than in the race. It wasn't the most exciting day for me, and we were open to various strategies, but it was a standard one-stop race. We'll go again in Mexico and see if we can fight for points there." Carlos: It's a shame to end the race that way as the car had great pace today. I had done a similar move on Bearman some laps before, so I tried that inside line with Antonelli into turn 15. He opened the line and then closed the door more abruptly than what I was expecting, I tried to react by slamming on the brakes to avoid contact but it was too late and we touched. I was behind so I accept my part of fault and ultimately it's a shame as it cost the race for both of us. We were quick, so it hurts not to convert it into more points today but we'll bounce back for Mexico next week. James Vowles, Team Principal: Part of the reason why I'm in motorsport is you can have some fantastic days with the highest highs, and then just 24 hours later, you can walk away with nothing, as we are today. And that's the reflection of Austin. What's positive to me is we have really strong car pace, and that's one item that we'll carry through for the remainder of the season. But it just highlights that we have to qualify both cars in position towards the point-scoring end of the grid, and we need to ensure we're fighting through the field without contact or incident. I'm sorry for both Carlos and Kimi, both had good race pace today and I'm confident would have scored points, but it is just a part of racing that, as you're trying to overtake through different sections, contact may happen. The stewards have decided to hand Carlos a 5 place grid penalty, there was a sensible conversation however the guidelines are fairly clear on fault allocation. We will come back fighting in Mexico.
