Will Power is the King of Qualifying! He extended his all-tme record in the NTT INDYCAR SERIES when he earned career pole number 71 at World Wide Technology Raceway (WWTR) near St. Louis. During the media luncheon at the Acura Grand Prix of Long Beach, I was able to sit down with Power and ask him about his secrets of success to qualifying. He explains how difficult it is and what it takes to get it right. He also explains what it takes to get the Firestone alternate tire in the right window to maximize the lap. Enjoy!NOTE: Unfortunately, a punctured tire deflated Power's chances for a victory at WWTR. He made contact with the wall and that ended his night.

You play Cruise's Cole Trickle character (his name, like many of the others, is slightly different to that of a real NASCAR racer of the day) against your rivals on 8 tracks, based on real-life counterparts. The races are all on ovals, although the exact lengths, corner types and gradients are varied. This means that the ideal racing line on one track can put you into the wall on another. Cheating in CrossFit has been around since the early days of the Open and online qualifiers. From athletes looping videos to some competitors being exposed year after year at Regionals, it's a persistent undercurrent in the sport. But how widespread is cheating and does it always happen intentionally? At one end of the spectrum, you have blatant rule-breaking, like switching out a medicine ball for a lighter one. At the other, you see more subtle infractions, such as a judge giving a warning for a squat that is just shy of full depth. Both technically count as cheating, but they are worlds apart in intent and impact. In this episode, we dive into the kinds of cheating we've seen over the years, some being very entertaining, and examine how the current CrossFit Games season, with its heavy reliance on virtual competition, creates even more opportunities for rule-bending. What unique or creative referral ideas could you implement in your own business to stand out and stay memorable in your industry? Are your referrals driven by genuine advocacy, or by what's in it for them? In this episode, I shared insights on building a strong referral system that truly works. I talked about how referrals remain one of the most powerful ways to grow your business, especially as traditional selling methods slow down. I explained the importance of understanding whether someone refers you for the love of you or for the love of themselves. This means knowing who truly advocates for you and who needs a little something extra to promote your work. I shared real-life stories, like my experience purchasing a bulk order of Mike Michalowicz's book to access a unique bonus, which led to creative ways to connect with my own network. I emphasized the value of making your referral requests simple, providing resources like swipe copy, and focusing on the overlap between those who believe in you and those who benefit directly. If you found these ideas helpful and want to build a referral strategy that feels good for everyone involved, please share this episode with friends or colleagues who might benefit too. I would love for you to rate and review the show so more entrepreneurs can learn how to scale businesses they love. Don't forget to subscribe and join me next week! This week, Chris Chavez and Megan Connelly unpack the new U.S. Olympic Marathon Trials Qualifying Standards. Preet Majithia hops on for the second half to recap Grand Slam Track: Philadelpia, Anna Hall's breakthrough heptathlon, preview the Rome Diamond League, and more takeaways from the past week.Takeaways from the new U.S. Olympic Marathon Trials Qualifying Standards:– USATF will return to “A” and “B” standards for 2028. The “A” standard will be determined at a later date in coordination with the LOC. Athletes with the “A” standard will get travel funding to the Olympic Trials. Athletes with the “B” standard will be guaranteed entry to the Olympic Trials.– For the “B” standard: Women who want to race will have to run 2:37:00 or faster. This is the same as the 2024 U.S. Olympic Marathon Trials qualifying standard. Women will also be able to qualify if they run 1:12:00 for the half marathon or faster, which is the same as the 2024 qualifier.– For the “B” standard: Men who want to race will have to run 2:16:00 or faster. This is two minutes faster than the 2024 U.S. Olympic Marathon Trials qualifying standard. Men can also enter if they run 1:03:00 or faster for the half marathon, which is the same as the 2024 qualifier. Going off USATF's 2024 qualifiers list, 139 of the 220 qualified men ran faster than 2:16:00.Hosts: Chris Chavez | @chris_j_chavez on Instagram + Megan Connelly | @meganmorantwwe on Instagram Preet Majithia | @preetmajithia on InstagramSUPPORT OUR SPONSORSOLIPOP: Olipop is a prebiotic soda that tastes like a throwback to your favorite childhood drinks, but it's loaded with benefits that your body will thank you for.
