Craig Shannon is the President of Grovemont Capital Advisors. There he helps connect real estate companies with capital. As such, he has enormous insight into what investors REALLY want. As changes are happening faster and faster, Craig is able to make investors and operators get the most value possible. This episode discusses: What are the three things an investor needs to be looking for Why real estate is so popular as an investment right now What the current excess of capital means for the investment market Why trust is the most important factor in making any investment How realizing your tenants are really clients can turn an investment around Why a 0% vacancy is a bad thing for a multifamily property What top properties are using for an advantage in the real estate and investment market When it's correct to use equity instead of debt to raise capital, regardless of interest rates Why high quality people are the best asset of any investment How to take risks in investments and technology that will pay off instead of leaving you with arrows in your back Why it's critical to always have an advisory board Craig Shannon President of Grovemont Capital Advisors

Okay, we’re back… we are spilling tea people. This week I have Shannon Bloodworth spilling the tea on what the Bible means to her and how she stays involved in the word and shares it with others. You will see from this episode how artistic Shannon is from the start. Shannon has been somewhat of a mentor for me during my time in Houston and beyond. You will see why I loved learning from her. She is so excited about Jesus and what he can do for you and in you. She uses her own songs to grow deeper with Christ. I want to show special mention to Shannon’s kiddos who have taken me into their family Emma, Jackson, and Livey (I love you guys) and we can’t forget Craig (Shannon’s husband). You see such a work of ministry when you step into the Bloodworth house. Every episode I’m glad you guys get a glimpse of what it feels for me to have tea with each person. I think this one portrays it in great ways especially as you hear Shannon clinking her tea cup. So, come join us as we sip and spill the tea.
Craig Shannon is a story teller...and a DAMN GOOD one! You will cry, you will laugh (listen to the end for some good laughs), and you will love the stories. His wife Jackie, "The Wife", joins him to help us understand this quiet and reserved fellow. Craig says "I tell stories...and they're mostly dark" but the tales share feelings and thoughts that are very relatable. One of the more interesting things about Craig is that he typically stuns audiences into silence when a song ends, but to him silence is more than an applause...he has a unique way of connecting with his audience. While he hasn't officially put anything out for purchase yet, he does play out as often as he can at local haunts like The Merrow, Brick by Brick, and LeStats. Check out his ReverbNation page for details and his next shows! We play three of his tracks and Spicy Kim does cry...after all, everyone needs a good cry. It can be very cathartic... 9:40 - "Bombs In Belfast" 20:15 - "Far Back Down The Road" 38:30 - "Some Kind of Angel, Some Kind of Devil" The Dusty Futon, LLC is focused on providing free tools and exposure to LOCAL and INDEPENDENT artists in Southern California through networking. Craig Shannon played bass in UNLISTED and is a filmmaker. His production company ICW does a lot of cool work, he's done extensive work with BIG D & THE KIDS TABLE, and we talk a ton about his travels. The most well-traveled guest on this show so far. Yeah I'd say. R&RM!
