AI isn't just another tech cycle. It's colliding with geopolitics, labor markets, crypto, and creator economies all at once. In this episode of the Block Runner Podcast, we break down why the global landscape is shifting faster than most people realize. From delayed tariffs and geopolitical power struggles, to AI-driven job displacement, no-code engineering, and the rise of vibe coding, this conversation explores what actually matters beneath the noise. We connect the dots between AI infrastructure, resource bottlenecks, robotics, and why this moment feels eerily similar to early crypto. Except this time, execution is possible. We also dig into where crypto still fits, how AI agents interact with crypto rails, and why new business models like creator capital markets are emerging. To close it out, we run a live Doom deathmatch on Track to demonstrate peer-to-peer infrastructure in action, then share updates on NAT, community conviction, and why long-term alignment still wins. If you're trying to understand where AI, crypto, and creators intersect next, this episode is for you. Clients apprehensive as detentions rise A different reality existed in late November when Joe Lavetsky helped a Hudson Valley man from Turkmenistan apply to become a naturalized U.S. citizen. In that reality, Lavetsky, a Beacon-based immigration lawyer, represented a model candidate for naturalization: a taxpaying green-card holder with letters of support from the correctional facility where he works and the fire department for which he volunteers. Then there is reality since Dec. 2, when the Department of Homeland Security announced a pause on applications for asylum, green cards and naturalization for immigrants from 19 countries, most of them African and Muslim. The announcement came six days after an Afghan native granted asylum killed one member of the National Guard and wounded another in Washington, D.C. Lavetsky, who specializes in green-card and citizenship cases, said he has recently represented people from three of those countries — Cuba, Turkmenistan and Venezuela. The Turkmen is "a really good guy" who has had a green card since 2021 and is ready to become a naturalized citizen, he said last month. But the application "is going nowhere anytime soon." Lavetsky and other immigration attorneys have a front-row seat to the fear and anguish of immigrants whose hopes of remaining in the U.S. are being delayed or dashed as the administration of President Donald Trump works to fulfill his vision of mass deportations. ICE, in a news release issued Dec. 31, said its officers are focused on removing criminals: "While ICE's law enforcement officers risk their lives to arrest the worst of worst criminal illegal aliens, including murderers, rapists, child sex abusers, terrorists and gang members, they have faced a 1,347 percent increase in assaults and an 8,000 percent increase in death threats against them thanks to the lies and smears from sanctuary politicians and radical activists, and hoaxes spread by the media. "Their heroic efforts have led to historic results, helping DHS remove more than 622,000 illegal aliens, including tens of thousands of the worst of the worst criminal offenders." But the agency also targets immigrants applying for asylum, legal permanent residence (green cards) and naturalization, advocates say. More people are being detained when they show up for what used to be routine check-ins with ICE or hearings in immigration court, said Rubie Alicea, an attorney with Pollack, Pollack, Isaac & DeCicco, which has offices in Peekskill. At the end of November, ICE detentions nationally (53,520) and at its facility in Goshen (166) were more than two times higher than a year earlier, according to the Transactional Records Access Clearinghouse at Syracuse University. Nearly three-fourths of detainees, 73.6 percent, had no criminal convictions, according to TRAC. Amid the agency's push, accompanying clients to those appointments "is the most stressful thing," said Alicea, who mostly handles deportation cases and has represented people from Dutchess and Putnam counties. "It's hard for me," she said. "I cannot tell them not to go, but I cannot guarantee they will not be detained." In addition to pausing asylum, green-card and citizenship applications, DHS said that anyone approved for those benefits since Joe Biden's inauguration as president on Jan. 20, 2021, will be subject to a "comprehensive re-review, potential interview and re-interview." Some of the affected are immigrants who have overstayed their visa but later married U.S. citizens and are applying for a green card, said Lavetsky. Detaining them "never happened in the past," even during the first Trump administration, he said. But now, even if they have a strong application, Lavetsky warns them that they may be detained during their interview. He has started accompanying clients to interviews at the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services offices in Albany and Manhattan. At a recent interview for the client applying for a green card after marrying a ...

Dr Artur Bartoszewicz w Radiu Wnet tłumaczy, dlaczego USA, Chiny i dług rozmontowują porządek świata.Świat wchodzi w etap brutalnej przebudowy globalnego układu sił. W ocenie dr.
This classic Dental Hacks episode features a long-form interview with Dr. Rella Christensen of TRAC Research (formerly CRA). The discussion covers the history of independent product evaluation, the challenges of maintaining objectivity in dental research, and significant findings regarding restorative materials and caries management. The original interview had really poor sound quality but a little help from an Adobe AI filter really cleared it up. This interview was worth another listen, I think! Key Interview Highlights 1. The Origins and Ethics of TRAC Research History: The organization began in 1976 (founded by Gordon Christensen) with the goal of collecting subjective data from clinicians to create objective "Consumer Reports" style rankings for dentistry. Unbiased Stance: Dr. Christensen emphasized that TRAC is a non-profit foundation that accepts no funding from manufacturers. If a company refuses to provide a product for testing (often fearing a negative review), TRAC purchases it on the open market to ensure the data is captured. The "File Drawer" Effect: They discussed how negative research is rarely published in journals due to corporate influence in dental schools and editorial boards. TRAC aims to publish the truth, even when it is negative. 2. Restorative Materials: The Zirconia Revolution 10-Year Study Results: Dr. Christensen detailed a 10-year study comparing various ceramic systems. The Failure: Zirconia substructures (like Lava) survived well, but the veneering ceramics (porcelain layered on top) had massive failure rates (chipping and cracking). The Winner: The study pointed toward monolithic zirconia (specifically BruxZir) and lithium disilicate (e.max) as the most durable options. Translucency Warning: She noted that as manufacturers push for more translucent (anterior) zirconia, they often lower the flexural strength (from ~1200 MPa to ~600 MPa). She cautioned that the long-term fracture toughness of these newer, "prettier" zirconias was still unknown at the time 3. The "Bombshell": Enamel Remineralization & Caries The Study: TRAC performed an in-depth clinical study on 330 orthodontic patients (high risk for white spot lesions). They tested various protocols including MI Paste, Fluoride Varnish, Ozone, and Xylitol against a control group. The Result: None of the products performed statistically better than the control group (who did nothing special), with the exception of PreviDent 5000, which was only marginally better. The Conclusion: Dr. Christensen concluded that you cannot arrest caries or remineralize enamel if the patient's diet is not addressed. She stated that dental caries is "the only infectious disease we attempt to treat while allowing the cause [sugar] to continue."

It's true that the current attacks on our community are dangerous and disorienting. That's the point of them: to confuse us into giving up hope. But the Latino community has always been resilient, and we will rise above this. There are so many ways we can fight back and protect each other. In fact, there are tons of non-violent actions every single one of us can take right now if we want to. Non-violent action is one way we can pour our strength back into ourselves so that we have each other's backs. I've been thinking long and hard about this, and I've found a few ways you can get involved. In this week's episode, we're talking about how you can harness your fear and turn it into power. These attacks on our community will not stop us from being the greatest versions of ourselves. We will continue to grow our businesses, support our community, and thrive in every facet of our lives. We can do it, as long as we do it together. Resources Mentioned: Know Your Rights (Español): ACLU overview + shareable hub. When the Beat Stopped: The One Who Found His Faith AgainBefore the hospital gowns and machines, Kyle David kept time for a living—a professional drummer and percussionist whose life moved in rhythm. Then a hurricane evacuation from New Orleans spiraled into a fight with COVID pneumonia, and the beat of everyday life stopped. What followed was a grueling medical odyssey: three hospitals, 50 days in ICU, a month-long coma, and moments when he was declared clinically dead—twice. Doctors said his only chance was a double-lung transplant. Airlifted to San Diego, Kyle spent nearly seven months learning to breathe, speak, and walk again.Somewhere in that long valley, Kyle's faith cracked. He prayed what felt like his last honest prayer:“Lord, either heal me miraculously now—or let me come home. I can't do this another day.”Silence seemed to answer back. For the first time, the drummer who had grown up with church in his bones felt the tempo of belief slipping away. Then came the moment he thought might be his last. During a brief outing from the hospital, Kyle's portable life-support machine failed. With a tracheostomy tube and seconds to spare, he rose from his wheelchair and shouted so nurses and his mother could hear:“Jesus Christ is my Lord and Savior.”If this was the end, he wanted his final words to be his clearest.Days later, a matching set of donor lungs became available. On March 3, 2022, surgeons performed the transplant that saved his life. Recovery was slow and humbling—scales and rudiments, but for breathing. Yet as his lungs healed, something deeper healed, too. The God who seemed silent in the ICU met him again—quietly, steadily, mercifully.Kyle describes what happened next as a re-tuning of his soul. The brushes became sticks; the metronome clicked again. His near-death season led him into the ancient prayers and steady rhythms of Eastern Orthodox worship, where he found a church that helped him rebuild his life in Christ with reverence, beauty, and community.“If I hadn't walked through that fire,” Kyle says, “I might never have discovered this path. My suffering became a blessing in disguise.”Kyle's story is more than a medical miracle. It's a testimony for anyone who's suffered long, doubted hard, and wondered if the music of faith was finished. God did not waste the silence. He used it to write a new song.Hear the full conversation on Cloud of Witnesses—Kyle's journey from a failing heartbeat to a living hope, from the edge of unbelief to a renewed confession of Jesus as Lord. ICE arrests in Western PA have more than doubled since this time last year, and most of the people being detained have never been charged with or convicted of a crime. From a high-profile raid at Tepache Mexican Kitchen & Bar to arrests outside of courtrooms, ICE enforcement is causing fear and confusion in Pittsburgh's immigrant communities. Meanwhile, several local law enforcement agencies are signing up to partner with ICE, which is slated to receive an additional $75 billion under President Trump's "big, beautiful bill." With all of this underway, we're bringing back our conversation with Vanessa Stine, senior staff attorney for the ACLU of Pennsylvania. She joins us to explain what happens during an ICE stop or raid, what rights immigrants have regardless of their legal status, and how bystanders can help during an ICE encounter. Read or listen to a summary of this conversation in Spanish. **This episode originally published on April 2, 2025. Looking for more help and resources?
