Spectre is in theatres, but did it leave us shaken or stirred? Sam and Matt rap about the latest Bond movie, consider the legacy of the Daniel Craig bond and ponder where the franchise goes from here. All that, plus a forced and terrible Sean Connery impression! Remember, you can listen to the Watch-Men Podcast on iTunes or right here.
With so much to talk about this week; James, Nathan and Callum record this shorter episode to talk about some topics they might have otherwise missed out on. They discuss WarnerMedia's new streaming service HBO Max, Netflix's The Cuphead Show!, the announced Warhammer 40,000 TV show, The Orville moving from Fox to Hulu, Amazon Game Studio's The Lord of the Rings MMORPG, the internet's reaction to Lashana Lynch being cast as Agent 007 and potentially taking over from Daniel Craig's Bond, plus a lot more. A review of Casino Royale, and a discussion about Daniel Craig's Bond, his first two films as 007, and the changes made to the series when he was cast
This week, Danny and Sam review two films about the tribulations of adolescence. The musical coming-of-age story Sing Street shows that poverty, family dysfunction and mean priests can be overcome by the power of love and wonderfully synthy pop music; in the Turkish family drama Mustang, synthy music is in woefully short supply for five orphaned sisters kept cooped up by their ultra-patriarchal uncle. Plus: I tell Danny he CANNOT BE SERIOUS about Shia LaBoeuf's latest role; we also wonder whether those skeptical about the new Ghostbusters movie are slightly sexist or massively sexist; and we suggest replacing Daniel Craig's Bond with the obvious choice, Brad Pitt as a Benjamin-Button-esque old man baby. We're Back Y'all! It has been a over a month but we are back once again with another episode of The Social Butter Cast. This time Cam, Dean, and David discuss a lot about poop, pee, the new movie The Nice Guys, and Dean's pitch for Daniel Craig's Bond movie exit. #season2nightmares?
This week, Colin & James mourn Scotland's failure (again) to qualify for a major European football tournament, as well as the latest on FIFA, Marvel's new slate of films, four more Transformers movies and Daniel Craig's Bond future, as well as the UK Government being a bunch of bufties when it comes to human rights and Alex Salmond pretending to be someone from Star Trek. Music comes from Analog with 'Working Men'!
L's & G's, welcome to Episode 32 of Stacey's Pop Culture Parlour! In this episode, Stacey is joined by her good friend, Kie 'Shotgun' Round, and her delightful hubby, Richnerd; listen in as the three get drunk and silly about pop culture! (Disclaimer: They may actually be drunk to start with, and just get drunker...)So, what do this Terrific Trio talk about in this mammoth episode of madness? Well, lots, that's what. There's plenty of discussion (and spoilers galore) for Guardians of the Galaxy, Flash, The Walking Dead, Gotham, Marry Me, Frozen (because you all wanted to hear Stace rant about how much she dislikes that film AGAIN) and more! On top of that we talk about our top gigs of the year so far, how much we wanna see Daniel Craig's Bond try to take on Batista, Gone Girl and wrestling, plus quite a liberal sprinkling of singing!Things take a turn for the spooky as Rich recommends some movies for the Halloween season, Stace freaks out yet again about ET, and Kie suggests we all get weirded out by Kill List. The guys talk about scary video games whilst Stace explains how she can't play them because she's a huge wuss...So, grab a slice of pumpkin pie and enjoy this latest installment of The Parlour!
