Welcome back to Morgan Hasn't Seen with Jeannine Brice & Morgan Robinson!! A totally different style of series for this show during June as Jeannine and Morgan have decided to fill some DC movie gaps with a few not-so-well-loved comic book movies, and closing out with what may be a cult favourite. To close out this ridiculous series, Morgan seems very thankful to be covering a movie that is far more critically respected and has a devoted cult following in CONSTANTINE (2005) starring Keanu Reeves, Rachel Weisz, Tilda Swinton & Shia LaBoeuf!
In a gold-plated return to the airwaves, our current events show “Daddy Issues” is back from its summer hiatus with a special super-sized catch-up edition of all the celebrity dadly dysfunction we must discuss as we enter into pumpkin season. Matt explains the British monarchy in the wake of mummy HM Queen Elizabeth's death, and the saga of Britain's new divorced dad, now known to his sons, William and Harry, as King Charles III. Erin unpacks the British cultural obsession with the body language cues of the senior royals as they try to keep their emotions inside like so many tampons, and Elizabeth presents new and myriad ways in which the Musk Men still stink. She also takes a sobering look at Jonathan's Depp-ression, Alec Baldwin's Instagram Live with Woody Allen that failed worse than Hilaria's birth control, and the whole gang discusses Armie Hammer's sojourn into the Caymen Islands hospitality industry and Robert Downey Jr.-guided recovery, as well as new dad Shia LaBoeuf's too-soon appearance on Jon Bernthal's podcast “Real Ones.” --- Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/tell-me-about-your-father/support

Olivia Wilde is laying it all out! In a new interview with Variety, the “Don't Worry Darling” director opens up about sexism in the film industry, her leading man Harry Styles, and that “vicious” moment her ex, actor Jason Sudeikis, served her with custody papers at CinemaCon. But what's grabbing headlines now is Olivia's claim that she fired actor Shia LaBoeuf from DWD to protect her cast and crew, including star Florence Pugh. Shia's calling BS and says not only was he not fired, he has the receipts to prove it. So can we trust that Olivia's really the champion for women she paints herself to be? Or does she just really know how to spin the narrative?Listen ad free with Wondery+. Join Wondery+ for exclusives, binges, early access, and ad free listening. GLProUK's Tony Gordon (How To Write A Tune, Bones Knows) and Jay Ludgrove (The Jaily Show) return to Flixwatcher remotely to review Tony's choice Fury. Fury is a 2014 war drama written and directed by David Ayer it stars Brad Pitt as Don "War Daddy" Collier, Shia LaBoeuf as Boyd "Bible" Swan, Logan Lerman as Norman "Machine" Ellison, Michael Peña as Trini "Gordo" Garcia and Jon Bernthal as Grady "Coon-Ass" Travis. Set in 1945, the Western Allied invasion of Germany meets fanatical Schutzstaffel resistance - War Daddy and his crew are leading the defence in their tank, affectionately named ‘Fury'. While the storyline is fictional, Fury and War Daddy are authentic - American tank commander Staff Sergeant Lafayette G. "War Daddy" Pool's experience influenced Pitt's War Daddy and was filmed in the UK due to the availability of functional Sherman tanks to be borrowed. Heavy on machismo and violence Fury doesn't shy away from the realities of war and the Second World War specifically (dead horses being eaten). [supsystic-tables id=226] Fury opens with Brad Pitt stabbing a German in the eye - if that is your thing then you'll probably enjoy Fury - if it's not then maybe give this one a miss. The scores for Fury reflect this and it scores a very respectable 3.98 overall. What do you guys think? Have you seen Fury? What did you think? Please let us know in the comments below! As we review PIECES OF A WOMAN and JERRY MAGUIRE, the unbelievable happens: Astrit Abazi and I feel the same about not one, but two films. Must be that new 2021 spirit. PIECES OF A WOMAN is a Netflix drama about the loss of a new-born and how it impacts the parents, played by Vanessa Kirby and Shia LaBoeuf. A distant drama that is not for the faint of heart. JERRY MAGUIRE tells the story of the titular sports agent and what feels like his ongoing quest to hit rock bottom by trying to do the right thing. We talk about Tom Cruise's slightly sociopathic grin and the racial politics of the film.

Joe and Todd relish the fact that they are five years into the podcast and Joe makes an announcement regarding his involvement on Dueling Decades as well as a radio play. Todd talks about some unfortunate incidents in bars. Joe describes the closest thing to a fight he was in back in middle school. They discuss the purchase of Bethesda by Microsoft and Todd reveals that his latest Celebrity Crush is Janelle Monae. They find a way to compare John Mayer and Pete Davidson. Todd recounts a table read of Fast Times at Ridgemont High, including the performances by Shia Laboeuf and the Brad Pitt/Jennifer Aniston reunion. Joe comes to terms with his obsession with Donald Glover. They cover Henry Cavill and Ben Affleck's return to the DCEU and Todd shares his concerns about Tom Cruise going to space, but Joe has a theory. They lay out the plagues underway that may prove the existence of God in their minds. Joe has a preliminary review of the Audiobook for A Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes and then compare books to the movie Adaptations, specifically looking at Ready Player One. Joe shares his feelings about his local movie theatres playing a small lineup of films across all of their screens, removing the classic films they had been playing prior to the release. They announce next week's movie and their instant regret for picking it (which I promise makes it a better episode). Joe has a confession for Todd regarding their previous stream together on Twitch. They announce new plans for Binge Watchers on the Wall. We're finally getting around to a listener request. Poor Kadija requested Holes ages ago, but we're finally ready to tackle the story of poor Stanley Yelnats.Up for discussion: how femininity is used as a weapon, as well as the absence of mothers and maternal figures. We're very impressed at the readability of Sachar's book considering it's basically a take-down of the prison industrial system. Plus: Jenny explains why the book is a cornerstone of a Texas education (and that the film is popular on TikTok?!); Joe gets judgey of people with neck tattoos, and, finally, why Sachar's incredibly faithful screenplay and those missing pounds on Shia LaBoeuf's Stanley wind up hurting the film.Wanna connect with the show? Cette semaine, on parle de "Relation Père/Fils" comme thématique dans le film Honey Boy (2019) par Alma Har'el, et l'album This Old Dog (2017) par Mac DeMarco. On explore aussi le LHCU! (Lucas Hedges Cinematic Universe).
Back in 2019, I started a daily comic challenge on a whim. I didn't put much thought into it—but I had been recently humiliated by the state of my design portfolio and all I knew was that I NEVER wanted to feel like that again.Initially, the challenge was about mastering one thing (drawing comics), but after the first few weeks, I realized that the journey I had set out on was about more than becoming a better illustrator…It was about becoming a better PERSON.In the past six months, I launched a coaching business, started a podcast, switched to a plant-based diet, designed my perfect day, ditched the gym for free weights, and finally found my purpose as a creative human. Two hundred and six comics in, I'm sharing this list of perks because starting a 365-day challenge saved my damn life—and I know it can do the same for you.1. Get Your Shit Together! How many times has someone said that to you? And how many times have you said it to yourself? Starting a 365 challenge won't magically deposit $100,000 in your bank account, but it will show your friends and family that you're SERIOUS about your goals. While everyone around you dreams about all the things they “would” do if they had the time, money, or energy, you'll be quietly cranking out art. Your shit will come together and you'll have the evidence to prove it.2. Tracking 10,000 HoursIn his book Outliers, Malcolm Gladwell talks about how experts around the world all have one common characteristic—time. From musicians to hockey players, it seems to take roughly ten thousand hours to master a skill. If you're doing a little of this and that, it's impossible to track your progress.A daily challenge makes it simple to measure your practice, but it also focuses you on one specific thing, so you can get to 10k hours a lot faster.3. People See the REAL YouIn an episode of the Love Dripping From the Walls podcast, Seattle dating coach Cora Boyd has this great soundbite about authenticity where she calls out social facades: “People looking for you and they can't find you!!!”When I started my challenge, I was afraid to talk about controversial topics, like psychedelics, BDSM, and mental health. But when I decided to be 100% honest, people came out of the woodwork to tell me how much my comics resonated with them. It felt good to tell the whole truth.4. Iteration vs ScratchMy freelance career restarted probably twenty different times as I jumped from “web designer” to “coder” to “strategist” to “copywriter.” The sad fact is a lot of people waste their entire lives doing this. It's like Shia LaBoeuf says…If you're tired of starting over, STOP GIVING UP.I can't tell you whether a 365 challenge will make you “successful,” but I have experienced the power of iterating on a specific idea for a long time. If you never push yourself past the point “where anyone else would quit,” how can you truly know whether success if possible? Why not go all-in?5. Perfect Introvert ExcuseSaying “no” to things you don't want to do is one of the hardest parts of being an introvert. It's exhausting to constantly be defending your time and energy, but a 365 challenge is the perfect excuse for any situation. When you tell people, “I'm sorry, but I have to finish this comic for my 365 challenge,” they don't push back because they get what's on the line.No one wants to be responsible for breaking your chain on day twenty, let alone day two hundred!6. Library of Reusable ContentWhen I used to write blog posts as a web designer, I would always fill them with stock photos and memes. But the true genius of a 365 challenge is that by the end you will have 365 pieces of your own content! You can use this “evergreen” artwork (writing, music, etc) for the rest of your life wherever you need it.Even halfway through, I'm already finding uses for my comics on mental health, introversion, productivity. It's like the creative version of buying stocks and then just sitting back to watch your money grow.I might not be an illustrator for the rest of my life, but I'll always have a killer illustration portfolio. And that's an investment worth sweating for!

Join Chris as he analyzes & reviews (with FULL SPOILERS) Transformers: Age of Extinction, the 2014 mega-blockbuster action movie sequel starring Mark Wahlberg and directed, once again, by Michael Bay. The maestro of destruction takes the director's chair to follow up, not reboot, his wildly divisive yet insanely successful Shia LaBoeuf trilogy. In this in-depth film review we dive into the ideas the writers came up with to draw Mr. Bay back for his 4th attempt at bringing the beloved 80s cartoon to life. Sam Witwicky is gone! We have a new, more adult, star in Dirk Diggler himself - Mark Wahlberg - and it's his most challenging role yet! Can Marky Mark pull off being a Texan inventor in this darker sequel that aims to change the game with multiple horrifying character deaths? And then it keeps going. We meet our new band of autobots as they explore the answers to both what the transformers are made of AND...what killed the dinosaurs! And then it keeps going. All 7000 'plot threads' collide in a 3rd act that features Megatron enacting his next plan for world domination, Optimus Prime going prehistorically OP and a human-built army of Transformers. And then it keeps going. !PLUS! "Family Comedy" Join us en route to the sure-to-be-great 5th entry in our retrospective series with 2017's Transformers: The Last Knight! Carl Fismer lives the life of an adventurer. The type of life that they make books, movies and video games about. Affectionately called "Fizz", he's a treasure hunter that has dived some of the world's most famous shipwrecks including the Atocha and the 1715 and 1733 Spanish treasure fleets. And in this talk, tales of peril, dangerous people, and daring escapes. And popcorn. Carl is like an underwater Indiana Jones (thankfully minus Shia Laboeuf.) Under The Crossbones is a podcast all about pirate culture. Your host Phil Johnson (comedian, musician, and pirate geek) interviews the most interesting people in the pirate subculture: Actors, Authors, Historians, Musicians, Artists, Festival Founders, Clothing and Prop Designers, Treasure Hunters, Archaeologists, and more. Nic, Abdullah and Brandon discuss the latest incarnation of everyone's favorite web-slinger, SPIDER-MAN: HOMECOMING. While the box office numbers are healthy for the official introduction of Spider-Man into the MCU, it only takes a quick glance at any social media site to see that fans are not all in agreement over the film... So let's talk about it! Also, Brandon's upset about the "Easter egg" hunter in his screening, Abdullah gets greedy with his imaginary podcast earning, Nic petitions for Shia LaBoeuf as Carnage in Sony's upcoming VENOM movie.

The week in which we only cover politics via SNL and Shia LaBoeuf, gamers face more delays as E3 goes public, Jay and Silent Bob are getting rebooted, several big directors have new projects, and Star Wars is landing in two big ways. I saw The Lego Batman Movie when I wasn’t busy becoming obsessed […]
The relentlessly upbeat Film Chat duo dive headfirst into some of the doomiest and gloomiest films currently on release. Rebecca Hall plays a depressed newsreader in Christine, Casey Affleck an unhappy janitor in Manchester By The Sea, and Natalie Portman a grieving First Lady in Jackie. Everyone is having a tough time of it -- except for cinema-goers of course, as all these films are good. PLUS! We take a look at the Academy Award nominations and decide that #OscarsStillTooWhite, a long-delayed message brings us news of the world's first YouTube-only documentary, and Shia LaBoeuf offers his thoughts on Nazi-punching. This week, Danny and Sam review two films about the tribulations of adolescence. The musical coming-of-age story Sing Street shows that poverty, family dysfunction and mean priests can be overcome by the power of love and wonderfully synthy pop music; in the Turkish family drama Mustang, synthy music is in woefully short supply for five orphaned sisters kept cooped up by their ultra-patriarchal uncle. Plus: I tell Danny he CANNOT BE SERIOUS about Shia LaBoeuf's latest role; we also wonder whether those skeptical about the new Ghostbusters movie are slightly sexist or massively sexist; and we suggest replacing Daniel Craig's Bond with the obvious choice, Brad Pitt as a Benjamin-Button-esque old man baby. Men uppfylldes Lisa Bergströms förväntningar?
This week, Danny dons the high-falutin beret of chin-stroking and Sam pulls on the lofty turtleneck of deep thought to review two films that the vast majority of the human race will never see. The Forbidden Room is the latest feature from Canadian director Guy Maddin, who has assembled an eclectic collection of melodramatic short stories nestled within one another like a Russian doll. Fragmented, theatrical, absurd - the film will be an acquired taste for most audiences. But not our extraordinarily discerning listeners. Those guys will love it. Also reviewed this week: The Russian Woodpecker, a concise but sweeping documentary that follows a young Ukrainian artist as he attempts to unravel the mystery of the Chernobyl nuclear disaster. It has everything you could want from a documentary - animation, archive footage, spectacular landscapes, interviews, conspiracies, performance art, a captivatingly weird protagonist, and a thick atmosphere of gradual, engulfing doom. The episode also contains ruminations on the "big nommers" at the Golden Globes, James Franco's attempts to make a good film about a bad film, the DJs inside Gandalf's pantomime horse, and, of course, Shia LaBoeuf. PS Sorry this one is late everyone. Sam was tasked with uploading it to the internet but his hands were trembling so violently with anticipation for The Force Awakens, not to mention Christmas, that it took him a full two days to control himself sufficiently to do the necessary button pushing. Won't happen again. See acast.com/privacy for privacy and opt-out information.
On this episode, we revisit three of our favorite guest appearances: Randall of "Honey Badger" fame, Maria Blasucci and her encounter with Shia LaBoeuf, and musical genius Matt Farley.
The Overthinkers tackle the FBI’s designation of juggalos as a gang and Shia Laboeuf’s deisgnation of plagarism as art. Episode 289: The Dark Carnival of our Civil Rights originally appeared on Overthinking It, the site subjecting the popular culture to a level of scrutiny it probably doesn't deserve. The Battle for The Answers continue in Episode 88, as Graeme McMillan and Jeff Lester answer your comics-related questions, or at least we do after the first ten minutes spent talking about Robin Gibb and the Bee Gees, Damon Albarn and Blur, and Elliot Smith as the Hipster Tupac. But right after that, we talk which Alan Moore's universe we'd like to see continued; the recent first issues of Batman Inc., The Ravagers, and Superman Family Adventures; Erik Larsen and The Savage Dragon; digital content and comics as a niche market;, Who gets a bigger free pass--Marvel or DC; Greg Rucka and Brian Bendis's discussion over at the Mulholland Books website; the degrees of freelancer success; Scott Kurtz and cynicism; Jim Lee and the role of creators in corporate comics; and the Word Balloon and other podcasts. Plus, Jeff talks about the Raid Redemption and Graeme talks about Portland elections; webcomics and print collections; Shia LaBoeuf and Steve Rude; Bulletproof Coffin and much, much more in a single two hour sonic shot to the brain. We thank you for listening and, as always, we hope you enjoy!

We are thankful to be born in California. We are less thankful for Shia LaBoeuf and movies with bad endings.
