É uma viagem com nove paradas, abrindo o nosso coração para as surpresas de Deus.A cooperação de Maria na obra da salvaçãoNo Evangelho de Lucas, Maria é a nova Filha de Sião que recebe e transmite a alegria da salvação. Lucas recorre às promessas proféticas que anunciavam a alegria messiânica (cf. Sf 3, 14-17; Zc 9, 9). Nela se cumprem as promessas que fizeram saltar de alegria João Batista (cf. Lc 1, 41). Isabel não diz: “Donde me é dado que venha ter comigo o meu Senhor?”. Refere-se diretamente à mãe, com a qual podemos advertir a conexão inseparável entre a missão de Cristo e a de Maria. Isabel fala cheia do Espírito Santo (cf. Lc 1, 41), de modo que a sua atitude diante de Maria se apresenta como um modelo de fé. Movida pelo Espírito Santo, ela diz as seguintes palavras: «Bendita és tu entre as mulheres e bendito é o fruto do teu ventre!» (Lc 1, 42).

En este video exploramos una de las frases más frecuentes y filosas que circulan sobre Cuba: “los cubanos tienen lo que se merecen”. Una sentencia que parece cerrar cualquier debate, pero que, al mirarla de cerca, revela una trama mucho más compleja. Por un lado, revisamos las ideas de pensadores como Tocqueville, Popper y Montaner, quienes señalan que las sociedades terminan tolerando —y, en cierto modo, aceptando— los gobiernos que no combaten. Recordamos que en 1959 hubo un respaldo masivo a la entrada de Fidel Castro, impulsado por el hartazgo hacia Batista y la esperanza de una democracia renovada. La pasividad, el silencio y la adaptación, incluso por miedo, han sido combustible para la permanencia del régimen. Por el otro, analizamos la perspectiva que cuestiona esta afirmación. Inspirándonos en Arendt, Jaspers y Primo Levi, hablamos de cómo el totalitarismo destruye la capacidad de actuar políticamente, monopoliza la verdad y convierte el miedo en un modo de vida. En este marco, culpar al pueblo entero equivale a invisibilizar la diferencia entre verdugos, cómplices y víctimas. Más que dar una respuesta definitiva, este video es una invitación a reflexionar sobre las condiciones históricas, culturales y políticas que llevan a una nación a caer —y permanecer— bajo el totalitarismo, y sobre el papel que cada uno puede desempeñar para romper ese ciclo.

Jim is a highly cited author in tourism economics/policy papers and he acts as a referee for all the top rated international journals in tourism and has served on editorial boards of numerous journals that have included the Cornell Quarterly and Tourism Economics. As director of the NCTPS at UL he has raised more than €6 million through project research and philanthropic donations  that has funded research scholarships for more than 25 students to study tourism at postgraduate level. Jim has undertaken project research on behalf of the World Bank, The European Commission, Eurostat, The Irish Government, Failte Ireland, Tourism Ireland, the Marine Institute, the Law Society and many other public and private sector organisations across the world. He was the project lead for the team that delivered Ireland's first Tourism Satellite Account in 2004.Jim has served on numerous public and private sector committees/boards on tourism issues over the last 25 years and was a founding member of the Business Tourism Forum of Failte Ireland  from 2004 and was appointed to the Board of The National Tourism Development Authority( Failte Ireland) by the Minister for Transport, Tourism and Sport in 2013.
