This week, the boys cover “Fight Club”, the 1999 movie that is both an of-its-time dark satire and a should-have-been-released-in-2025 heat check. Before we dive into it, we need to get drinking! So we discuss the new Paul Thomas Anderson “Dr. Strangelove”-esque gripping satire (maybe?), “One Battle After Another”, the new Daniel Day-Lewis film “Anemone”, directed by his son, Ronan Day-Lewis, and John made it to the red carpet premier of Guillermo del Toro's latest fright film “Frankenstein”. Steve Agee is a beloved actor, writer, comedian, and all-around funny person, seen most recently as John Economos in the John Cena DC Comics series Peacemaker on HBO. You may have caught his work in films like The Suicide Squad and Guardians of the Galaxy, vol. 2. You didn't see him in Meatballs, the 1979 Bill Murray summer camp comedy, because Steve was just a wee boy back then. Steve has seen Meatballs, though. Oh has he ever. He loves the film, loves summer camp in general, although in his middle-age he has realized what a terrible employee Bill Murray's character really is in the film. Insubordinate rule breaker who should be fired, when you stop and think about it. Steve also talks about what it's like to have a job like his where a day of labor might mean having to kill a gorilla with a chainsaw. Not a real gorilla, Sleepyheads, it's just pretend. And we won't play that scene for you. We want you to sleep. Steve has a very soothing voice, by the way. So that will help. He even listens to the show! But he probably won't listen to this episode because that would feel weird.Watch Peacemaker on HBO Max.Hey Sleepy Heads, is there anyone whose voice you'd like to drift off to, or do you have suggestions on things we could do to aid your slumber?Email us at: sleepwithcelebs@maximumfun.org.Follow the Show on:Instagram @sleepwcelebsBluesky @sleepwithcelebsTikTok @SleepWithCelebsJohn is on Bluesky @JohnMoeJohn's acclaimed, best-selling memoir, The Hilarious World of Depression, is now available in paperback.

Larz and Carz return to the God's Country for another searing chapter in the RHOSLC saga. But first, they discuss Nicole Kidman and Keith Urban's shocking split and Tiffany Pollard's entry into her non-binary era. Back in Utah, the Queen of Sundance strikes back at the naysayers in the only way she can: planning a premiere party for an HBO Max original film. Angie K visits her 89-year-old father, who recounts his harrowing journey from Greece to Ellis Island during WW2, inspiring her to expedite her path to Greek citizenship. Bronwyn introduces us to her own ailing mother, the cruelest lady in all of Salt Lake, as Heather begins to renovate her at-home office/lady cave. Then, Lisa assembles the group at the austere Blue Sky Lodge, where she doms them in the board room with a lesson on lawsuit dismissals, misinformation, triangulation, and the time-honored tradition of shitting on the Wild Rose.Chapters:00:00:00 It's Locktober.00:02:16 Nicole Kidman and Keith Urban's shocking split00:19:42 Tiffany Pollard is non-binary00:21:53 RHOSLC Recap!Listen to this episode ad-free AND get access to weekly bonus episodes + video bonus episodes by joining the SUP Patreon. Genre-blending pop-soul artist Lily Lane makes her much-anticipated return with “Reciprocation.” Blending vintage soul textures, razor-sharp pop sensibilities, and raw, confessional lyricism, “Reciprocation” stands as a bold new chapter in her ever-growing body of work and a can't-miss release from one of music's most exciting rising voices. A Boston native now splitting her time between New York and Los Angeles, Lily first broke out as a teen on national tours, opening for Big Time Rush (selling out the House of Blues in her hometown) and Cody Simpson, while quickly finding herself in the orbit of the 2010s pop elite. After graduating with honors from the Clive Davis Institute of Recorded Music at NYU, Lily signed with Wilhelmina Models, came out as bisexual, and emerged as a bold voice for body positivity, female empowerment, and LGBT+ representation. Music runs in the family. Lily's older brother, Tucker Halpern, is one half of the Grammy-nominated electronic duo SOFI TUKKER. Like her brother, her music has earned many sync placements across major platforms, including Netflix, HBO Max, Peacock, and Bravo, bringing her soulful, cinematic sound to screens across the country. Lilly's sophomore EP Queen of Hearts dropped in Fall 2022 and her third EP, Love, Lily Lane, arrived in Fall 2024 as a genre-spanning concept record written during her engagement and released in the lead-up to her wedding. Its lead single, “I Do,” is a soul-infused acoustic love song praised by top bridal blogs as a perfect first-dance track. Now, with “Reciprocation” serving as an auspicious preview into her next chapter, including her upcoming EP, Domesticated, with her signature blend of powerhouse vocals, confessional songwriting, and stylized visuals, Lily Lane's not just dropping songs. She's setting the scene. Want to watch: YouTube Meisterkhan Pod (Please Subscribe)

One Battle After Another, is what I should rename this podcast, because the movie was that good, and a full review is inside. Plus Xbox takes another self imposed L, Sony gives itself a gold medal, and EA goes private. The Simpsons are headed back to the big screen, and an AI "actress" has Hollywood in a fervor. Plus Forza Horizon is finally headed to the land of the Rising Sun, and Ubisoft gives Assassin's Creed a new home.

We just watched the new Superman streaming on HBO Max, and… yikes! For longtime Superman fans, this was a letdown, glossy visuals, loud action, and a script packed with meme references, TikTok energy, and Gen Z/Gen Alpha humor. There's little of the depth or wonder adults remember from Superman; instead, this reboot plays strictly for the Fortnite generation. The cast is young, the jokes are relentless, and any sense of gravity or myth is swapped for viral catchphrases and shallow sentimentality. If you want Reeve's charm or even Cavill's intensity, this one just isn't for you. What did you think, was this Superman a true hero for a new generation, or have they lost what made the character iconic? Sound off in the comments, share your biggest gripes or surprises, and be sure to subscribe for more honest reviews of classic and current superhero fare!
In this episode we discuss how to get James Gunn's commentary for the "Superman" movie, the record breaking viewer numbers on HBO Max, the "Superman" movie gag reel, the release of Steve's new book "Beyond the Cape", new Superman and Super Friends action figures, your favorite live-action version of Ma Kent, and much more.

Today, Dan & Stephanie try to cover a difficult topic using stories that can happen with neurodiverse couples and weaving in the story of Elizabeth Holmes/ Theranos after seeing the documentary on HBO Max about remembering differently, different priorities, and lying to oneself. Often, the couple remembers something differently (more often than not) and gets stuck in the weeds on whether a fact is true or not true instead of solving the actual problem or coming up with a future solution from hindsight learning. Many of our couples get stuck in what is sin, what is a lie, when is this a character flaw or issue? Stephanie began the discussion by setting up some Gottman research that states 69% of couples' issues are perpetual and unsolvable, so what do you do?In neurodiverse couples, you can guarantee that you will remember situations and events differently. You can count on the two of you to have different perspectives and priorities- what do you do?Looking at the definition of a lie:General Definition:A lie is generally defined as a false statement made with the intent to deceive someone. It involves making a statement that the speaker knows to be untrue, to cause the listener to believe it is true.Lies involve the intention to deceive or omit something so as not to have a penalty or consequence. What to do? After listening to the documentary The Inventor: Out for Blood in Silicon Valley, Dan and Stephanie arrive at different places where they believe Elizabeth Holmes (no relation) is lying with intent. Is she lying to herself? Stuck in dreams or expectations that will never be? Lying to others? What do you think? What do you do when you remember differently and need to solve a problem, or you have differences and wants and needs and priorities?Dan and Stephanie also talk about the perspective gap and learning from it, and how to stay relational when you disagree. An older podcast called Stuck in the Weeds is mentioned- you can find that here:https://www.spreaker.com/episode/stuck-in-the-weeds-communication-collaboration-misfires--64597917 Find the entire catalog here:https://www.spreaker.com/podcast/neurodiverse-christian-couples--4992356or from our home pagewww.christianneurodiversemarriage.com Find out what courses are available at www.holmesasr.com

Victor and Sona break down the latest episode of 'Task' on HBO Max, 'All Roads'. Despite some tonal whiplash, this episode has real consequences as the mini-series begins to set up it's finale. mailto:needssomeintroduction@gmail.com
Learn more about your ad choices. Kate Flannery and Oscar Nuñez had a mini "Office" reunion on last night's season finale of "Who Wants to Be a Millionaire" and went ALL THE WAY! (You'd know them as Meredith and Oscar on the show.) They even called up Brian Baumgartner (Kevin) for their "Phone-a-Friend" lifeline. As for the million-dollar question? "The word 'planet' comes from an ancient Greek word that literally means what?" Their options were "powerful," "immortal," "stranger," and "wanderer" . . . the answer being "wanderer". Kate and Oscar will be splitting their winnings between Planned Parenthood and a Philadelphia-based food bank called Philabundance. Fresh off Coachella comes Stagecoach! She'll appear on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon on October 6, just three days after her album release and one day after fiancé Travis Kelce's birthday. Katie Couric pokes fun at Sydney Sweeney's American Eagle ad in a new PSA for colon cancer screenings. The clip opens to a close-up of Katie wearing a jean jacket, and quickly pans out to show she's wearing a hospital gown underneath, and she's on a gurney getting ready for a colonoscopy. She tells the camera, quote, "Speaking of genes. Did you know that the majority of people who develop colon cancer are not genetically predisposed to the disease? That's why doctors recommend everyone 45 and older get checked." Katie told "People" magazine, quote, "That ad showed how pop culture and a pair of jeans could really shape the cultural conversation, it was everywhere. It was a moment in time, and we thought, 'Why don't we ride that horse a little bit longer and have some fun with it?'" It'sbeen 25 years since Katie became the first person in history to broadcast a colonoscopy on national TV. She lost her husband to colon cancer in 1998. He was only 42. One of the most famous homes in American history is opening its doors to the public for the first time ever. The "Brady Bunch" house in North Hollywood will be accessible to fans on November 7th, 8th, and 9th. And while bookings are sold out, you can register to be on a waitlist, or be notified if additional dates become available. When the show was in production back in the day, the house was only used for EXTERIOR shots. The inside of the Brady home was created on a soundstage, and the inside of the actual house looked nothing like it. But HGTV bought the house in 2018, and renovated it so that it DOES match the house from the show. And of course, they recorded it for a series called "A Very Brady Renovation". Alyssa Milano, now 52, announced on Instagram that she underwent surgery to remove her breast implants—calling it a step toward reclaiming her body. She wrote that she's letting go of “false narratives” and a body she felt was “sexualized” and “abused.” Page Six+2People.com+2Milano said she once believed implants were essential to being attractive, loved, or successful—but now emphasizes that her worth doesn't depend on them. People.com+2The Cut+2 She also expressed hope that her 11-year-old daughter will be spared similar pressure. Page Six+1She made clear this was her personal decision and not a judgment on others who choose differently. People.com+2The Cut+2 After the procedure, she posted she's resting comfortably and thanked fans for their support. Sacha Baron Cohen, 53, has been spotted on a dinner date with 27-year-old OnlyFans creator Hannah Palmer, just months after finalizing his $75 million divorce from Isla Fisher. Page SixThe pair were seen leaving the restaurant separately before getting into the same Cadillac Escalade. Page Six+1Sources say they first met at Taika Waititi's 50th birthday party in Ibiza, with Rita Ora reportedly introducing them. Although the age gap raised eyebrows, insiders say they “seemed to be getting on really well.” Page Six+1Cohen and Fisher married in 2010, share three children, and announced their split in 2024 before finalizing the divorce this past June. Action legend Chuck Norris, now 85, marked his birthday by hiking Lassen Peak in Northern California—a strenuous trail rising to 10,457 feet. The round-trip journey spans about 5 miles and climbs 2,000 feet, often taking 4 to 5 hours to complete. Outside OnlineOn Instagram, Norris reflected on the trail's long recovery since the 2021 Dixie Fire, saying while the damage is heartbreaking, “the park's beauty still shines through.” Outside Online+2Active NorCal+2 He also credited his wife for introducing him to the region's natural splendor. It's official: HBO Max wants to traumatize your children. What other reason could there be for them to produce a brand new, animated version of "Charlotte's Web", one of the greatest children's stories ever told . . . until it becomes the most heart-wrenchingly brutal story in the history of mankind? This one is a limited series, told in three parts, which will all be released on Thursday, October 2nd. It stars Amy Adams as Charlotte, Elijah Wood as Wilbur the pig, and Jean Smart as the narrator. The voice cast also includes Cynthia Erivo, Randall Park, and Rosario Dawson. On the latest episode of the podcast, Doug wonders if Angel Dust and PCP just don't exist anymore or if they just have new names, Jamie refers to the hero as 'Seed Star' for reasons that she feels are obvious, and we both realize that neither of us would last more than a day or two in the future hellish world that this movie posits (Doug refuses to live in a sewer and Jamie would attempt to bargain with the Terminators). We're back for the fall TV season with the perfect cozy comedy that probably flew under your radar when it premiered last month on Netflix: Each episode of Long Story Short jumps back and forth through time to tell the many stories (both big and small) of one hilarious and relatable Jewish American family. We'll share some favorite jokes and why we can't get enough of this fresh adult animation from the creator of another modern animated classic, Bojack Horseman. Plus we're taking inspiration from the show and diving into our own streaming history with updates on news stories spanning the Streamageddon archives (because everything old is new again in streaming): Is the new season of South Park piloting an anti-binge model for Paramount+? Sesame Street finds a new address (or two) after being kicked to the curb by HBO Max. Speaking of HBO: They're rebranding their cable channels and Chris would like some credit for predicting these names, okay? Remember Netflix House? No? That's okay, neither did we. RIP Hulu but also LONG LIVE HULU (don't worry, we'll explain). Plus the latest Jimmy Fallon project you've never heard of, casting news in one the longest-gestating streaming projects we've been following, and a peek behind the Marvel curtain with Kumail Nanjiani. Note: This episode was recorded before Disney suspended (and then re-instated) Jimmy Kimmel. ———
