The group heads to Omnipotence City to warn the gods and ask for their help, but Zeus has no interest in getting involved. Instead, he tries to keep Gorr from discovering the city's location. When Zeus injures Korg, Thor turns on him, stealing his magical thunderbolt before escaping with Valkyrie and the others. Thor learns that Jane is dying of cancer which obviously makes him real sad and they end up kisssingggg. The group travels to the Shadow Realm, where they discover Gorr's plan to use Stormbreaker to reach something called Eternity, a mysterious being that can grant one wish. Gorr eventually gets his hands on Stormbreaker, badly injuring Valkyrie and leaving Jane weakened. Thor realizes that using the hammer is actually making Jane's condition worse by preventing her body from properly fighting the cancer. Knowing he may not have much time, Thor heads to Eternity alone. Using Zeus's thunderbolt that he now has, he gives the kidnapped children his powers so they can fight Gorr's monsters while he takes on Gorr himself. When Jane realizes Thor is in danger, she joins him to help. Gorr makes his wish but ends up dying. He asks Thor to take care of Love. The hits keep coming and Jane ends up dying in Thor's arms. In the aftermath, Love returns to New Asgard and joins Thor on his adventures. Thor wields Mjolnir while Love carries Stormbreaker, and the two become an unlikely superhero duo. Amazon's God of War series is getting a new Kratos, and it might be the exact actor fans have been calling for since day one. On this quick-hit episode of Geek Freaks Headlines, Frank breaks down the report that Dave Bautista is in talks to replace Ryan Hurst as the God of War in Amazon MGM's live-action adaptation of the PlayStation franchise.The recast follows Ryan Hurst's on-set injury, a torn bicep suffered during a stunt that required surgery and a recovery window long enough to push Amazon and Sony toward finding a new lead rather than delaying the two-season production. Bad boy Thanos gets an infinity stone, the Power Stone. His play is to get all six Infinity Stones and wipe out half of all life in the universe.  His first stop is the ship carrying the surviving people of Asgard. Thanos easily overwhelms the remaining Asgardians, beats up Hulk, and steals the Space Stone from Loki's Tesseract. He then kills Loki. Thanos then destroys the ship and continues his hunt. Edris Elba helps make sure that Hulk returns to earth, where he crashes through the New York Sanctum. Back as Bruce, He warns Doctor Stephen Strange and Wong that Thanos is coming.  Tony Stark joins the conversation. Before he can call Steve Rogers to get the band back together, they attack the city to claim the Time Stone from Strange. Spider-Man is pulled into the chaos, and after they captures Strange aboard his spaceship, Stark and Peter Parker secretly hitch a ride into space to rescue him while Wong remains behind to defend the Sanctum. Meanwhile, the Guardians of the Galaxy answer a distress signal and save Thor floating in space. They agree they need to work together to stop Thanos. But they're too late. Thanos already possesses the Reality Stone and uses its power to manipulate everything around them. He captures Gamora after learning she knows the location of the Soul Stone. Desperate to save her adopted sister Nebula from torture, Gamora tells him where the stone is .  When they get there, the keeper of the Soul Stone, one Red Skull, reveals the price required to obtain it: the sacrifice of someone truly loved. In one of the film's most tragic moments, Thanos throws Gamora to her death, earning the Soul Stone. Vision and Wanda are ambushed in Scotland by Proxima Midnight and Corvus Glaive, who attempt to rip the Mind Stone from Vision's forehead. Captain America, Black Widow, and Falcon arrive just in time to save them, bringing the wounded Vision back to the Avengers Compound. Vision urges Wanda to destroy the Mind Stone and kill him if necessary to stop Thanos, but she cannot bring herself to do it. Instead, the team heads to Wakanda, believing Shuri may be able to safely remove the stone without sacrificing Vision's life. Iron Man, Spider-Man, and Doctor Strange end up on Titan and come face to face with Star-Lord, Drax, and Mantis and they realize they're in the same team.  Using the Time Stone, Strange studies millions of possible futures and discovers only one path where they succeed. Together they execute an elaborate plan to restrain Thanos and remove the Infinity Gauntlet. For a moment, it almost works—until Nebula reveals that Gamora is dead. Overcome with grief and rage, Star-Lord attacks Thanos, ruining the team's hold on him. Thanos breaks free, defeats everyone, and nearly kills Iron Man. To save Tony's life, Doctor Strange willingly surrenders the Time Stone, despite knowing how dangerous it is. In Wakanda, the Avengers prepare for an all-out invasion from Thanos's army. Bruce Banner, unable to transform into Hulk, enters battle wearing the Hulkbuster armor. The tide finally turns when Thor arrives in spectacular fashion alongside Rocket and Groot, tearing through Thanos's army with his fresh new hammer/ax combo, Stormbreaker. Peter's father Ego visited Earth and fell in love with Peter's mother and they wanna get married!  Fast forward to the present and the gang's all here. Peter Quill, Gamora, Drax, Rocket, and literal toddler Baby Groot. The GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY!  They take a job from gold lady Ayesha to protect some batteries from a space squid monster, which they do, in exchange for Gamora's sister. But then Rocket immediately steals those same batteries because of course he does. CLASSIC Rocket. This leads to an all-out attack, a crash landing into a ship planet thing that just kind of appears, and the arrival of a mysterious shirtless dad: Ego. Surprise! He's Quill's father.  Ego invites Quill, Gamora, and Drax to his planet, while Rocket and Groot stay behind with Nebula to keep an eye on her. Peter and Ego hash things out. He explains why he wasn't around but says he wants to be the father he always hoped to be now.  Meanwhile, blue whistle boy Yondu is hired to track them down. Things go sideways FAST when Yondu refuses not to give up Quill location. He ends up being imprisoned with Rocket and Groot, but they escape with some wild arrow work. Back on Planet Daddy Issues, Ego reveals he's basically a god who's been planting himself all over the universe (red flag), having kids everywhere (bigger red flag), and murdering them when they don't have powers (biggest red flag).  Oh, and he casually admits he gave Quill's mom a brain tumor. Cool cool cool. Quill snaps, the team reunites, and it becomes a full-on “let's destroy dad” situation. They head to Ego's literal brain at the planet's core, plant a bomb. The bomb goes off, Ego is toast, and Quill loses his powers in the process. But the emotional gut punch? Yondu sacrifices himself to save Quill, proving he was his real dad all along. we cry. You cry. Everyone cries.  the Ravagers show up to give Yondu the send-off he deserved all along. And we get a thousand mid credit scenes and none of them matter.
