What's Good? News Netflix is making a Death Note movie The story and character designers for the original anime have been given credit on IMDB for the story and characters, so we shouldn't expect them to stray away too much from the original plot. However, the movie is takes place in The U.S., so some names have been altered. Light's last name is now Turner, opposed to Yagami, and Misa has had her name changed to Mia. Death Note: Light Up the NEW World is a live action film taking place 10 years after the events in the original Death Note. Misa, Ryuk, and Touta Matsuda, the seemingly naïve member of the task force will reprise their roles in this upcoming film. The film premieres on October 29 th in Japan this year. Death Note Rewrite, 2 episodes, one being a two hour episode recapping the story of the main series re- edited from Ryuk's perspective. An unnamed Shinigami asks Ryuk questions about the human world and his story. The other story picking up where the last story left off, it follows Light, Mello, and Near. L Change the WorLd, the novel version of the movie which has extra events which do not take place in the film.
