Brad Zerbo and Abbey Blue Eyes return from GART Deadwood with stories of steaks, standing ovations, and the powerful debut of Codex 9/11. They reflect on the film's overwhelming reception, with nearly half a million views in just days, and address the most asked question, what really happened to the passengers on 9/11? The conversation blends gratitude for community support with speculation on unanswered questions, eyewitness testimony, and the importance of sticking to hard evidence. The hosts also share exciting news about Codex 9/11 theater screenings in Florida and California, discuss RFK Jr.'s autism comments alongside Brad's earlier Population Control documentary, and lighten the mood with viral clips in a “try not to laugh” segment. It's a mix of truth bombs, heartfelt appreciation, and hilarious detours that captures the full spirit of Brad & Abbey Live.
Introducing Wives Not Sisters Podcast with wlw couple Alix Tucker and Kayla NielsenHi! We're Kayla and Alix. We're married, not sisters (even though that's what most strangers assume for some reason) and welcome to Wives Not Sisters, a podcast about relationships, but not just the romantic kind. We talk friendships, messy family dynamics, situationships, and most importantly: the relationship you have with yourself. Some days we're diving deep into life's big stuff like grief, identity, or boundaries. And other days we're sharing our hot takes on viral internet lore, queer culture, or those silly moments in marriage that you can't help but to laugh at.Our show rides the wave of serious to silly and everything in between, because life doesn't come in categories. It can be playful and painful and awkward all in one day which is why we want to talk about ALL of it.We started this show for a few reasons: because us queers are always starving for more representation, because being married and a little boring isn't actually a death sentence for fun or individuality when you find the right person, because we want to make you smile at least once today, and because sometimes you need to hear someone say the thing you've been quietly thinking in order to realize, "Oh, I guess I'm not the only one!"Whether we're talking marriage, break ups, friend drama, or celebrity buzz we're always bringing it back to the human stuff. We're here to make you laugh, to make you feel seen, and to build a community of people who are figuring it out, just like us.So pull up a chair, get cozy, and welcome to Wives Not Sisters!Connect with us on social media: IG: @wivesnotsisterspod Follow our hosts on Instagram: @kaylalanielsen @alix_tucker

Comedian Lucas Waterfill is a rising star in the Indianapolis comedy scene. His work mixes autobiographical storytelling with sharp social commentary. Waterfill was born with cerebral palsy and he uses his experiences navigating the world with a disability as a springboard for his comedy. Waterfill's latest project “Up All the Nights” is a play, co-written with Blake Mellencamp. “Up All the Nights” will be premiering this month at Indy Fringe. The play is described as a “hilarious look at navigating life with a disability. ‘Up All the Nights' translates Waterfill's experiences to the stage, showing life in a world that's not designed with you in mind and emphasizing the importance of building community within a harsh political climate.” “Up All the Nights” will be staged daily at Indy Fringe from August 16-24. Listen to an interview with Waterfill and Mellencamp as they discuss the inspiration behind “Up All the Nights.”

How long has Todd McFarlane been teasing a new Spawn movie? It seems like it has been at least a decade. Do his latest comments mean anything? Sticking with comic books, we discuss the adaption of the controversial Garth Ennis book, Crossed. Is the name being attached to it the perfect match or overkill? Plus, Predator: Killer of Killers new.One of the wildest films we have ever covered on our humble little podcast is All Jacked Up and Full of Worms. We were not exactly sure of what to think once it was over, but we knew we liked it. We also could not wait to see what writer-director Alex Phillips was going to do next.Anything That Moves is a psychosexual dark comedy about a bike courier sex worker who is living his best life until a serial killer begins killing the people he loves. It sounds straightforward, but it is a bonkers all over the place experience. It is a stylish watch that will definitely not be for everyone. Our feature presentation has a great set up. Lena wakes up in a moving trailer. She has no idea how she got there or where she is going. A voice comes over a speaker and lets her know that she has been infected and they are taking her to get cured. It starts with a sense of mystery.Like sports, movies are not about how you start, but you how finish. It is unfortunate that Hellcat is unable to take advantage of this premise. There is too much going on, but somehow the movie still has nothing to say. The twists are nonsensical and the characters are not as compelling as they need to be. And that ending… Adventures in Movies! is a part of the Morbidly Beautiful Podcast Network. Morbidly Beautiful is your one stop shop for all your horror needs. Down to Watch is back to the monthly map of new series and favorite franchises just in time for an awesome August! Dan and Raul have the details on the worlds we're returning to, including a surprising "sequel" to The Naked Gun trilogy, the Alien franchise landing on Earth as a TV show, Wakanda goes animated and John Cena is Peacemaker again but now with a new Superman. That's not to say the new stuff isn't exciting, as our hosts are very excited for the upcoming film Weapons, from Zach Kregger of Barbarian fame. Also new to TV is a reality doc about The Biggest Loser, a funky claymation telenovela on Adult Swim, the story of Hawaiian war between the islands and another series from the creator of Bojack. This is plenty to look forward to, but if looking back is better then Jaws and TMNT are coming back to theaters. So much stuff for the fellas to talk about, and for you to listen!
We're thrilled to spotlight Coffee Tonk, a brand-new production inspired by the music of singer-songwriter Ben Danaher. This original play makes its premiere at the Omaha Fringe Festival this August at the Shelterbelt Theatre. On today's podcast, we welcome several incredible guests from the Coffee Tonk team: Jill Engelstad, the playwright; Steve Hydeen, the director of Coffee Tonk and Program Director & Chief Admin Director of the 402 Arts Collective; Brigette Chizek, who plays dual roles as singer Jonelle and bar owner Olivia; and Mark Drendt, who portrays the lead character, Daniel West. This production is truly a collaborative effort. The 402 Arts Collective provided the acting talent, and the River City Shakers bring energy and movement through dance. The Great Plains Theatre Commons supported playwright Jill Engelstad in developing the script. And, of course, the Omaha Fringe Festival and Shelterbelt Theatre provide the platform and venue to bring it all to life. All Omaha-based. All incredible creatives. All working together to tell new and meaningful stories. Tune in to the podcast to hear behind-the-scenes insights and enjoy a taste of Ben Danaher's inspiring music featured in Coffee Tonk. The Omaha Fringe Festival runs August 8–10, 2025, featuring 20 original productions, each no longer than one hour. Performances will take place at three venues: Shelterbelt Theatre, two stages at the UNO Theatre, and the Blackstone Theater. The Truth about Paid Movie Reviews, Influencers, Premieres, & Legalities. After our Superman Movie Review (2025) and loving a lot of what we saw, the comments came rolling in — “shills,” “WB paycheck,” “of course you liked it, you were invited.” So in this episode, we're diving into what it really means to be an influencer or critic in 2025 and the blurring line between genuine reaction, media access, and marketing. Start your online business with a $1 per-month trial when you visit https://www.shopify.com/rejects! We break down what it actually looks like to attend premieres, get screeners, and review movies as YouTubers and personalities. Spoiler alert: if we were paid to give a positive review, we'd legally have to disclose it — every single time. We discuss the FTC guidelines, the evolution from traditional criticism to the current critic/creator/influencer hybrid, and the strange era we're in now where if you like a movie, you're “paid,” and if you don't, you're “grifting.” We unpack the emotional and mental gymnastics around movie discourse: the trust gap, the pressure to be entertaining, the conspiracy theories around studios “buying” reactions, and what it's really like when your job overlaps with your fandom. This isn't just about Superman 2025 — it's about the entire culture of content creation, criticism, authenticity, and what the internet now expects from anyone with a voice in film. Whether you trust us, question us, or are still figuring it out — this is the real conversation that's been needing to happen. Maddy and Annie are back on the mic — and first off, thank you for sticking with us through our chaotic summer schedule! Life's been a little wild, but we're back and diving straight into the Bravo madness. This week's recaps include:
James Gunn's Superman held its premiere in London July, 2, where the director confidently told The Times of London that his superhero epic celebrates "the story of America" and champions basic human kindness in a world that desperately needs it. Meanwhile, star David Corenswet shared at the London premiere that his predecessors did “a very Superman thing,” with former Men of Steel Henry Cavill and Tyler Hoechlin encouraging him to make the role his own.Universal's Jurassic World Rebirth chomped its way to a $147 million five-day weekend opening during the Fourth of July. While those numbers would make any studio exec happy, they're actually a steep drop from the franchise's predecessors, suggesting that after 32 years, audiences might be experiencing some dino-fatigue. Universal clearly saw the writing on the wall and slashed the production budget from a mammoth $250 million down to a more modest $180 million, but the franchise is still roaring overseas. Australian-American actor Julian McMahon, beloved for his roles in Nip/Tuck, Charmed, and as Dr. Doom in the 2000's 20th Century Fox Fantastic Four films, died peacefully on July 2nd at age 56 following a private battle with cancer.Michael Madsen, the gravel-voiced character actor best known for his menacing roles in Quentin Tarantino's Reservoir Dogs, Kill Bill, and The Hateful Eight, died Thursday morning from cardiac arrest at his Malibu home at age 67.The next installment in Denis Villenueve's Dune franchise will officially be titled Dune: Three. Villenueve also revealed that the film will be shot entirely using IMAX cameras.According to a rumor from The DisInsider, Disney and LucasFilm are having active conversations planning a full reboot of the Indiana Jones franchise. The Last of Us co-creator Neil Druckmann is stepping down as co-showrunner of the HBO series after completing work on season two, choosing to return his focus to video game development at Naughty Dog including his next project Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet. Craig Mazin will continue as sole showrunner for season three, while Druckmann retains his executive producer credit on the critically acclaimed series. The Office star Craig Robinson announced on Instagram that he's officially quitting comedy to focus on his true calling. However, industry insiders believe this is likely a marketing stunt, as mysterious billboards have appeared in Los Angeles and Robinson still has comedy shows scheduled through the end of the year.Chris Pratt will reprise his role as the voice of Garfield in an animated sequel to Sony's 2024 The Garfield Movie, which grossed over $230 million dollars at the worldwide box office.Wicked director Jon M. Chu has signed on to helm a live-action Hot Wheels movie for Warner Bros. and Mattel Studios, with screenwriters Juel Taylor and Tony Rettenmaier from Creed II and They Cloned Tyrone penning the script and J.J. Abrams' Bad Robot producing. The high-octane action film follows Mattel's success with Barbie as the toy company continues mining its properties for big-screen adaptations.Jimmy Olsen actor Skyler Gisondo revealed he mistakenly believed he was auditioning for the title role in James Gunn's Superman film, thinking the character name in his audition materials was just a placeholder to hide the fact he was reading for Clark Kent. The mix-up led to an awkward phone call with his representatives who had to clarify who he was actually auditioning for, though director James Gunn reportedly loved the story.
