[Proverbs 25:14] A person who promises a gift but doesn't give it is like clouds and wind that bring no rain. When Jesus died it looked like everything he said was an _____________ _______________. [Matthew 27:39-44] The people passing by shouted abuse, shaking their heads in mockery. [40] “Look at you now!” they yelled at him. “You said you were going to destroy the Temple and rebuild it in three days. Well then, if you are the Son of God, save yourself and come down from the cross!” [41] The leading priests, the teachers of religious law, and the elders also mocked Jesus. [42] “He saved others,” they scoffed, “but he can't save himself! So he is the King of Israel, is he? Let him come down from the cross right now, and we will believe in him! [43] He trusted God, so let God rescue him now if he wants him! For he said, ‘I am the Son of God.'” [44] Even the revolutionaries who were crucified with him ridiculed him in the same way. Instead of promises that are _____________, God gave us something empty that is full of ___________________. The Empty _____________ The empty cross is a reminder that we have been _______________. [Romans 6:10-11] When he died, he died once to break the power of sin. But now that he lives, he lives for the glory of God. [11 ]So you also should consider yourselves to be dead to the power of sin and alive to God through Christ Jesus. The Empty _____________ [John 20:1-9] Early on Sunday morning, while it was still dark, Mary Magdalene came to the tomb and found that the stone had been rolled away from the entrance. [2] She ran and found Simon Peter and the other disciple, the one whom Jesus loved. She said, “They have taken the Lord's body out of the tomb, and we don't know where they have put him!” [3] Peter and the other disciple started out for the tomb. [4] They were both running, but the other disciple outran Peter and reached the tomb first. [5] He stooped and looked in and saw the linen wrappings lying there, but he didn't go in. [6] Then Simon Peter arrived and went inside. He also noticed the linen wrappings lying there, [7] while the cloth that had covered Jesus' head was folded up and lying apart from the other wrappings. [8] Then the disciple who had reached the tomb first also went in, and he saw and believed— [9] for until then they still hadn't understood the Scriptures that said Jesus must rise from the dead. The resurrection proved that Jesus sacrifice ___________________. The empty tomb give us __________________ and a promise of ______________________ life. The cross couldn't __________ him, the tomb couldn't ____________ him, the burial wrappings couldn't ______________ him! [Romans 8:11] The Spirit of God, who raised Jesus from the dead, lives in you. And just as God raised Christ Jesus from the dead, he will give life to your mortal bodies by this same Spirit living within you. God takes our emptiness and _______________ it with his promises. [John 11:25] Jesus told her, “I am the resurrection and the life. Anyone who believes in me will live, even after dying.

Our pastor, Fr. Chuck, is on a 12-day pilgrimage overseas. So he's arranged for you to hear a homily for this Fourth Sunday of Easter from six years ago—when the readings were the same—from Deacon Kevin Welch of Our Lady of the Lake Parish in Lake Oswego, OR. At that time, Fr. Chuck served there as Parochial Vicar. Deacon Kevin's message was in an Easter Season series about the Corporal Works of Mercy. He taught on "To bury the dead." Readings: Acts 13:14, 43-52; Ps 100, various verses; Rev 7:9, 14b-17; Jn 10:27-30

March 26 & 27, 2016 Senior Pastor, Shane Philip, gives a message about the greatest comeback story of all time.
This is my sermon from Easter 2016. I talk about why Christianity is not Christianity without the Resurrection.
This year we welcome in 25 people into our Holy Catholic Church--including 8 baptisms. Why did they want to become Catholic? What is the point of all of this? What do we get out of following Jesus? What's in it for us? We have to get something--what do we get?
When the women arrive to Jesus' tomb, two angelic figures ask them "Why are you looking for the living among the dead?" Jesus resurrection begs us to ask why we seek to find life in dead places, when Jesus died and rose again that we might have eternal life in him. Tyler Gorsline explored this question and what Jesus tells us about who he is as the "resurrection and the life" (John 11) and as "our Lord, and our God" (John 20).
What draws people to Jesus? When people seek him, what should we tell them? What should we point to? Join us this Resurrection Sunday as we learn strait from the lips of Jesus about what the answer is to seeing and knowing Jesus.

In this Easter message, Pastor Marcus illustratively encouraged us that Jesus is not finished with us yet. The resurrection of Christ its the announcement that there is more for each one of us.
Is the Resurrection of Jesus Christ history or hoax? Did Jesus really rise from the dead or is it just a metaphor for springtime and new beginnings in life? If Christ really rose from the dead, what would the significance of such an event be for us? Join Pastor Jim as he explores the historical evidence and helps us understand the life-changing implications of the Resurrection of Jesus.
Most people around the globe believe that Jesus was a great man, great teacher, and blessed by God with certain prophetic and supernatural powers. But what do you believe about Him? Was He just a great teacher, prophet and miracle worker, or was He more than that? In this message, Pastor Bob Merritt teaches us who Jesus really is.
