Is it OK for laity to anoint people with sacramental oil that is not the holy oil from the church? What does it mean that some will have greater happiness than others in heaven because some will see God more clearly, as stated in the "Catechism for Adults"? Any tips on making a good confession and examination conscience? I saw some Catholic influencers online telling young couples to have children even if they cannot afford it because God will take care of it. Is this good advice? The power of Last Rites Why did Jesus wait for the “right time” to proclaim the Kingdom? Do we as Catholics believe you have to be Catholic to be saved? How do we get an FSSP apostolate in my city? In Today's Show: Do you anticipate the Traditional Latin Mass will grow and flourish in a very big way the next 10-20 years? I was wondering what the proper etiquette is whenever a priest is entering/exiting the church for mass? My parish largely bows to the priest but I've heard that that is not appropriate. Should Catholic men listen to Andrew Tate? How to properly forgive and forget I've heard a traditional priest once say that if the Godfather isn't holding the baby while the baby is being baptized, he is not a valid Godfather. Is this true? Father's stance on the Neocatechumenal Way What does the church teach about self defense such as karate? Are Catholics allowed to use self defense? Are any of them based in other religions that we should avoid? Can saints and angels hear our mental prayers? Converting for the sake of marriage - is it a "true" conversion? When I went to the Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Scapular Mass, I forgot to bring my Scapular. Do I need to get that blessed or, rather, is it the person who is blessed? How do we help Jerusalem and the Christians? During the solemn high mass, the sub deacon wears a certain type of veil and he carries the patent during the offertory. What's the significance? How many of the "extra" biblical miracles are Catholics obliged to believe? At a sung mass, why are the laity instructed to sit during the creed? Father has presented over 125 formal cases before Tribunals of seven dioceses of the United States. He currently serves as Parochial Vicar at St. John the Baptist Parish in Front Royal, Virginia. In Today's Show: I've been married for many years, have several children and have always practiced the Faith. But suddenly I see that I married for the wrong reason, had children for the wrong reason, and homeschooled for the wrong reason. I am committed to my family and my vows, but how do I move forward to have authentic relationships with the people I brought into my life and let go of the regrets from knowing that I probably would have been called to a very different life if I had actually been listening to God? Why are priests throughout the United States so diverse in their theology? How do we not let our regrets lead us into despair? When is a divorce or annulment warranted? Is it alright to refuse to enter one's parents' house as long as they are hosting unmarried siblings with their companions in the same room, and to let them know that reason? What if they had separate rooms? Are there any rules related to annulment in terms of who must be contacted as part of the process? For example, must adult children of the marriage be contacted/informed before an annulment can take full effect? Does the church keep a record of why each annulment was approved and who approved it? I struggle with severe anxiety before going to Confession. Is this a sign of spiritual weakness? My husband and I have been practicing NFP with a clear conscience, but recently we came across traditional writers who imply that even periodic abstinence for non-serious reasons could be sinful. How does the Church truly define a ‘just cause,' and how can couples discern this without falling into guilt or legalism? What's the best way to introduce the Rosary to small children without making it feel like a chore? How to stop superstitious thoughts? Why do people believe in superstition? As a Catholic woman, how can I serve in the Church without overstepping the roles God designed for men and women? You often speak on this show about uniting our sufferings to Christ. But how does that actually work in real life? How can I avoid despair and use my suffering redemptively? Is it wrong to wear pants as a woman? I want to be modest, but I also don't want to appear scrupulous or extreme. Do you believe homeschooling is the best way to pass on the traditional Catholic faith to our children? How do we store up “treasures in heaven?” Other than Job, is there someone else that God tested, even to the point of punishment? Since Father Rock is the liturgy expert here... what's his favorite nerdy liturgical fact? Invincible ignorance as it pertains to Protestants What is the Catholic teaching on Acts 10:38, which appears to suggest that Jesus was empowered by God the Father rather than having innate divine power himself? I am elderly and cannot drive. Is it a sin for me to miss Mass? How do we respond to Protestants who say that John 3:5 is about labor water and not baptism? What are some acts of sacrifice/penance we should do daily? Is it wrong to use substitutes for the Holy names of Jesus or Mary to avoid using them in vain? What are the origins of the English language originally going with the Germanic “Holy Ghost” v. “Holy Spirit” ? Is “Spirit” a closer Latin translation? Why does the Bible say that there is a better chance for a camel to enter through the eye of a needle than a rich man enter the kingdom of God? Who determines how much money is “too much” or how can we judge that? Regarding final grace of conversion for sinners in mortal sin, is there a conflict between the Divine Mercy message given to St. Faustina, and the teaching of St. Alphonsus Ligouri, a Doctor of the Church? When it's stated that St. John the Baptist was sanctified in his mother's womb, what does that mean. How is he different from other saints? We read in Matthew 27: 51-53 how, when Jesus died, there was an earthquake, rocks were split, the curtain concealing the Holy of Holies in the Temple was torn from top to bottom, and that, "The bodies of many saints who had died were raised to life." Fr. Daniel Alloy, FSSP has served as Parochial Vicar at Regina Caeli Parish in Houston, Texas since July of 2022. He was ordained in June of 2020. In Today's Show: I was wondering if members of other apostolic churches like Eastern Orthodox, Oriental Orthodox, etc. are allowed to receive Holy Communion in the Catholic Church. If so, what are the conditions that must be followed? Why do we use the term “Godfather” when there is only God the Father almighty? Do our souls have a gender? At the resurrection, since our bodies and souls will be reunified, will there be any need for us to eat? I know that things like witchcraft and sorcery or anything dealing with occult powers is dangerous and wrong, but my teenage son is fascinated by magic, meaning the kind of magic that involves the art of illusion. Is there any danger in this? How are we not cannibals if we eat the body of Our Lord? Regarding the destruction of Sodom and Gomorrah, I've heard conflicting "reasons" given for that. Most say homosexuality, but I've seen people on YouTube make arguments for other causes. Which is correct? To join the FSSP these days, do you have to consciously reject the SSPX? In seminary, what's taught on the SSPX? When discerning, why choose FSSP? What happens to the laity if a church is declared schismatic? Houston heat and Tex-Mex cuisine! Is the name Yahweh specifically connected to God the Father or to all of the persons of the Trinity? Does playing board games with your family/children count as leisure and how can we talk to someone who desires too much leisure or recreation? I was at High Mass today for the Feast of the Precious Blood. Can you explain a little about the roles of deacon and subdeacon? Where is St. Joseph buried? Can you talk about what it means for women to wear veils, why the law was changed, and why you think it seems to be coming back? Canon Stephen Sharpe, ICKSP serves as Parochial Vicar at St. Joseph Shrine in Detroit, Michigan. He was ordained in 2020.   In Today's Show In a previous episode, Canon Sharpe noted that reading of sacred scripture is offering a sacrifice, and that it be done by an ordained minister - that is to say, a subdeacon or a deacon or a priest or an ordained lector."  If so, is it "unfitting" for a layman to deliver a scripture reading at a Novus Ordo Mass? In addition to being "unfitting", is it also objectively morally evil (notwithstanding the reader's knowledge or intentions)? Why did Jesus have to go away for the Holy Spirit to come? Why couldn't they both be present at the same time? When God created the Angels, 1/3 of them fell. What about our Guardian Angels? Is it possible that a number of Guardian Angels fell? If so, how does everyone have a Guardian Angel? I am afraid that some of my loved ones who have fallen away from the Church and are living in unrepentant sin may not make it to heaven. Of course, I am hopeful that I will someday reach heaven, but I don't know if I could be truly happy in heaven if some of my family are not there with me. So, I pray for them, but what if my fears are realized? Are there any references in the Old Testament you would point towards to explain the sacrament of extreme unction? What are your thoughts on some Catholics promoting the “warning" and illumination of conscience? Why do I sometimes hear preaching in church that refers to the Holy Spirit using the pronoun "It" rather than "He?" Is attending weekly Mass on Saturday evening acceptable, as a Carmelite Chapel only offers weekly Mass on Saturday? Is there any kind of traditional medicine, any pre-modern 'alternative' medicinal approach that is allowed by the Church? How do you advise we prioritize possible prayer  intentions, and make sure we best pray for everyone we can? What does the church teach in terms of the dead reaching out to the living through signs, animals or nature? Why is Canon called Canon instead of Father? I've never heard that before! How can I explain to my family members why we have crucifixes with the corpse in our churches? I left out sins in my past confessions and I went back to confess the ones I left out but I never mentioned the sins in my first invalid confession. Do I need to confess all my sins again? In Today's Show: When looking back on the pandemic, do you think the Church would now do things differently in hindsight? Is it a sin not wanting to receive the Holy Eucharist in a Novus Ordo mass, but instead in a Latin Mass (SSPX)? In 2 Thessalonians 2:9-12, St. Paul describes the deceptions of the antichrist, and how all those who fall for the deception of the antichrist will be condemned by God. If the antichrist appears during our lifetime, how should a good Catholic recognize and resist the deception of the Antichrist, and so avoid God's condemnation? I'm having a hard time encouraging my daughter, age 8, to follow along in her missal at Mass. She has a STRONG choleric temperament and I don't want to turn her off to the faith. Any advice? How to make restitution as an adult convert Can you please speak a little about the Supreme Court Decision today that upheld the Tennessee law prohibiting gender affirming treatment on children? Is it permissible for a nun to incense the tabernacle in their monastic chapel? Is it permissible for Catholics to call a funeral a "celebration of life"?
