What do you do when God asks you to do something that doesn't make sense? In this message from Acts 9, Pastor Bobby Chandler walks through Ananias' encounter with God and shows us what faith really looks like.Faith isn't pretending you have all the answers.Faith is choosing to obey even when you don't understand. If you've ever questioned God's timing, struggled with His direction, or wondered why He allowed hardship into your life, this message will encourage you to trust Him one step at a time.Sometimes God doesn't explain everything. He simply says..."I will be with you."Key Scriptures* Acts 9* 2 Corinthians 5:7* Matthew 7:7–8* John 16:33* Proverbs 3:5–6Authentic Church 2010 Clement Blvd NW Hickory, NC 28601 GIVING To support this ministry and help us continue to reach people all around the world click here: https://authenticchurch.com/give GET CONNECTED Ready to check out Authentic Church in person? In this episode of Theatrically Authentic, Sarah Atherton-Knight and Simon Scott dive into the emotional complexity of Dear Evan Hansen — a show about anxiety, isolation, social performance, and the dangerous power of finally being noticed.Together, they explore why the musical resonates so strongly with neurodivergent audiences, unpacking themes of masking, maladaptive daydreaming, rejection sensitivity, and the desperate need to belong.Blending musical analysis with personal lived experience, this episode examines what happens when honesty doesn't feel safe — and the emotional consequences of building connection through performance instead of authenticity.Whether you see Evan Hansen as a victim, a villain, or something painfully in-between, this conversation asks a difficult question: what do people do when they believe the truth won't make them lovable?
In this world, we encounter people whose souls are in different states. Some are indifferent to the things of God. Others are fervent. We also meet those who find spiritual fruit in everything. Whether it is a trial or a grace, they find an opportunity for spiritual growth during every stage on life's way. They do this by accepting the trials that are placed in front of them. It is no easy thing, but it is a necessary step on the path to holiness.

Meant to Be - The Authentic Human | Ben by Door of Hope Christian Church
In "The Ways of A Faithful Guardian of Spiritual Treasure Part 1", discover the secret to finding spiritual strength in Christ. When tasked with guarding the gospel, believers quickly realize their own inadequacy for the mission. The Apostle Paul writes to Timothy, urging him to rely entirely on the grace that is found only in Jesus. This expository sermon on 2 Timothy 2 explores how true spiritual power is never generated by human effort but is a divine gift. Pastor Richard Caldwell explains that pastoral ministry and everyday Christian living require the exact same dependence on the Lord. God often uses our profound weakness to display His perfect power, so we must abandon self-reliance and draw upon the all-sufficient resources given to us through salvation. By examining texts like 2 Corinthians 12, we see that difficult circumstances are ordained by God for our spiritual good. Walking by faith means embracing our limitations so that the power of Christ may dwell in us. Key Biblical Takeaways: - Strength for the Christian life is an active reception of grace, requiring us to humbly yield to God rather than relying on natural ability. - God frequently ordains difficult trials to drive believers to their knees, proving that His grace is entirely sufficient for every affliction. - Authentic spiritual power is magnified in our weakness, ensuring that all glory for the preservation of truth belongs to Christ alone. - Guarding sound doctrine is not an elite calling reserved for pastors, but a daily duty sustained by the devotion of every believer.

“You get this feeling that your job as a leader is to sink the long putt. But your job is to caddy.” – Kelly BottiWelcome to episode 238 of The CUInsight Experience podcast with your hosts, Randy Smith, co-founder of CUInsight.com, and Jilly Nowacki, co-founder, president and CEO of Zealyst. This episode is sponsored by Trellance. Trellance is a leading technology partner for credit unions, delivering innovative technology solutions to help credit unions achieve more. Learn more here!In this 2026 season, Jilly and I will have conversations centered around leadership, credit unions, and living our best lives. We will have some of the most respected leaders from around credit unions who we are grateful to call friends join us in the discussion from time to time too.For this episode, we are so thrilled to welcome Kelly Botti - President and CEO of Trumark Credit Union! She joins us to talk about how leadership transitions rarely happen as cleanly as a new title or promotion suggests. We discuss the personal side of change—the uncomfortable stretch of time and growth between who we were and who we're becoming, and we unpack why the biggest leadership shifts often happen internally long before anyone else even notices them!Listen in as Kelly reflects on stepping into executive leadership at a young age, the pressure to prove herself, and how chasing credibility sometimes pulled her away from authenticity. We talk about why experience and not just intelligence often shapes stronger leaders, how mentorship can fill the gaps that life hasn't yet provided, and why trying to have all the answers often acts as an obstacle to actual influence. The three of us share our own stories of early-career missteps, the lessons that we wish we had learned sooner, and how our perspectives have changed over time. Our discussion also examines what leadership looks like once success is no longer measured by personal output, and we talk about creating the conditions for others to succeed, resisting the urge to solve every problem yourself, and continually bringing teams back to a shared mission instead of micromanaging. Kelly offers practical insights into creating a sense of alignment, leading experienced teams, and communicating a vision without controlling every decision. We also spend some time on something leaders don't discuss nearly enough: the emotional work behind major transitions. From burnout and self-awareness to having trusted people in our life who are candid and honest, we explore what it really takes to stay grounded while carrying a lot of responsibility on our shoulders. We close by discussing why the best leaders aren't driven by ego but rather by purpose. If you're working through a major career change, growing into a new leadership role, or simply trying to become a more authentic leader, we think you'll find plenty to reflect on in this conversation with Kelly Botti! Rock, rhythm and blues band Yarn made a triumphant return to the Americana charts this spring with their new album Saturday Night Sermons. The lead single, “Good Things,” spent several weeks in the AMA's top 20 singles chart and the band is back on the road supporting their 11th-ish album. Founder and frontman Blake Christiana joined Roots Music Rambler this week to talk all about the album, the songs, guitarist Andy Thomas's new solo project and how it affects the band and more. Yarn's first album, almost more of an acoustic, folk offering, dropped way back in 2007. While their music has matured and evolved through the years, they've held on to that folk and country sensibility with songs like “Goodbye Cowgirl” on the new record. But Yarn has also become more of a Southern rock band as various influences have floated in and out of the band. Yarn has been nominated for a number of Grammys over the years and has become a mainstay in the Americana / Rock / Southern Rock genres. Lead guitarist Andy Thomas, a recent guest on Roots Music Rambler, just spun out a solo record. Yarn says he's still in the band and they support him 100%. Christiana talked to us about embracing the various projects and interests of the band members and even said a constantly changing cast of characters is an asset for his music. Also on this episode, Falls recaps his week at Cowan Creek Mountain Music School in Whitesburg, Ky. He chaperoned his daughter Katie who took a class, but served as a fly-on-the-wall observer of the now 25-year-old summer pickin' and grinnin' academy. Many friends of the show (The Local Honeys, John Haywood, Larry & Cheryl Webster) and others we often talk about (Don Rogers, Grace Rogers, Jesse Wells, Ella Webster) also factor into the story. And, certainly, Frank and Falls have their normal pickin' the grinnin' choices for music recommendations this week. In step with the Cowan Creek experience, Falls chose dulcimer virtuoso Roxanne McDaniel. Frank slid in a little Steph Strings recco. What is the meaning of tolerance? It means to bear someone else's faults, even if we do not know where they emanate from. Perhaps others have habits and opinions we find disagreeable. Some are grave. Some are not so important. Even when we know that another person is in the wrong, even fellow Catholics, we are never called upon to tolerate or ignore error. However, even being armed with the truth, we are not asked to weaponize it but rather exercise charity in correcting others, not for our own glory, but for God's.

Welcome to Sacred Restorations, a limited series on the SSPX Podcast that highlights the beautiful work being done across the U.S. District. In this episode, we travel to Walton, Kentucky, where Assumption Academy is building the future of Catholic education. Fr. Stephen Stanich and Mr. Sean Cooper walk us through the remarkable growth of this chapel, from the original SSPX church and school in Cincinnati, to the move to Walton in 2010, to the arrival of the Dominican Sisters and the flourishing of both the boys' and girls' schools. What began with a small chapel and just a few dozen students has grown into a thriving Catholic community of nearly 1,500 faithful, nine priests, and hundreds of students. Now, with the boys' school outgrowing its space, Assumption Academy is raising a new building with classrooms, offices, a full kitchen, and a hall large enough to serve the whole community. It is an ambitious project, but one meant to last for generations. In this release, Archbishop Marcel Lefebvre receives a new and daunting mission: Pope Pius XII appoints him Apostolic Delegate for French-speaking Africa. Now, while still shepherding Dakar, he must represent the Holy See across dozens of missionary territories, from Morocco and Senegal to Madagascar and Réunion. Chapter 9 shows him encouraging bishops, creating new dioceses, helping choose future pastors, raising funds, bringing in religious congregations, and strengthening the Church's presence across a rapidly changing Africa. We see his loyalty to Rome, his practical genius, his calm authority, and his deep concern that the African Church be truly Catholic, missionary, and rooted in strong native clergy. Most authors have plenty of ideas, but struggle to turn those ideas into a book that is both authentic and successful. Today's guest, Steve Kidd of Thriving Bestsellers, has spent over 40 years helping entrepreneurs uncover their true voice and transform it into bestselling books. He's worked with more than 5,000 authors and contributed to 42 #1 international bestsellers, giving him a rare depth of insight into what it really takes to stand out in a crowded marketplace. In this episode, Steve dives into why self-discovery is the critical first step in authorship. Steve explains that most people are writing from the identity others assigned them; parents, teachers, spouses, instead of the person they actually are. He shares why your book becomes a powerful tool for transformation when it's rooted in your authentic self, not in borrowed quotes or imitated styles. Rather than staring at a blank page, Steve recommends writing your book via interview, capturing real, spontaneous stories and insights that sound like you, then shaping that raw conversation into a compelling manuscript. Steve tackles the rise of AI in writing head-on. Steve isn't anti-AI; in fact, he shows how it can be incredibly powerful when you feed it deeply personal, accurate information about who you are and who you serve. But he warns that most AI-generated books are “garbage in, garbage out” generic content stitched together from other people's work, with no real voice or originality. The difference between a soulless AI book and a powerful, AI-assisted bestseller is whether you've done the hard work of knowing yourself and clearly defining your reader. From there, the conversation shifts to the part almost no one plans for: real book marketing. Steve explains that a book is a product like any other, and it needs both a marketing plan and a marketing budget to perform. He breaks down why simply “hitting bestseller” on launch day is not a strategy, and why most authors stall out after release because they have no follow-up campaign. Steve shares how verified purchaser reviews, ongoing promotion, and a realistic ad budget (or equivalent time investment) make the difference between a book that quietly disappears and one that consistently brings in readers, clients, and opportunities. https://youtu.be/v59jrjgMpAg?si=H8oXoO8ZYFvRPApP If you've ever thought, “I'll just let AI write my book,” or assumed that if you “build it, they will come,” this episode will challenge those myths and give you a grounded, hopeful path forward. Welcome to episode 256 of Grasp the Bible. In this episode, we will examine the topic of receiving what you cannot earn — why God insists His greatest gifts must be received freely, and what happens when we try to put a price tag on grace. Key takeaways: We are deeply uncomfortable with free gifts. The bigger the gift, the deeper our discomfort. Deep in our bones we believe nothing is truly free — everything has strings attached, every blessing demands reciprocation. Grace without cost does not compute. Naaman returned to Elisha with wagons full of treasure, determined to pay for his healing. His instinct was completely natural — in the ancient Near East, everything operated on patronage and reciprocity. But Elisha's absolute refusal forced Naaman to reckon with something revolutionary: grace that is truly free. Elisha's refusal was not false modesty. It was theology. Accepting payment would have validated Naaman's assumption that God's gifts can be purchased. Grace that can be purchased is not grace — it is wages. It is transaction. It is works. Gehazi did not merely steal. He sold God's grace. He put a price tag on what Elisha had explicitly made free and commodified divine healing into a purchasable product. Once you do that, you have lost the very thing you are trying to sell. Grace marketized is grace destroyed. The punishment of leprosy passed to Gehazi was not disproportionate — it was precise. He took on what Naaman had been freed from. When we turn grace into merchandise, we inherit the very burden Christ came to remove. Naaman's response to unearned healing was not obligation but worship: “Now I know that there is no God in all the world except in Israel.” When you try to pay for grace, it becomes about you. When you receive it freely, it becomes entirely about the Giver. If your Christianity is primarily duty, debt, and obligation — “I have to, I should, I ought to” — you have not yet grasped grace. Authentic worship is not born from what you owe but from what you have been freely given. Quotable: Stop asking “What do I owe?” and start asking “Whom shall I worship?” Your good works do not increase God's grace — they flow from it. Your obedience does not earn His love — it responds to it. You are saved by grace alone, through faith alone, in Christ alone. Receive it. Application: Identify how you are trying to pay God back. More services attended, more money given, more hours volunteered — as if these things earn His favor or increase His grace. This is Naaman's theology dressed in Christian language. Your religious activity does not produce God's blessing; it responds to grace already given. Receive what was freely given and let obedience flow from gratitude, not debt. Be wary of any teaching that links God's favor to your financial giving. Prosperity preaching, seed offerings, pay-to-access ministry — Gehazi's leprosy is the warning. When grace is turned into a product, the product being sold is not grace at all. Test every teacher who suggests that your giving unlocks God's generosity. That is not the gospel; it is commerce. Examine whether your Christianity is worship or obligation. Ask yourself honestly: Do I read my Bible because I love God or because I am afraid of what happens if I don't? Do I serve because I am grateful or because I feel I owe? Joyless religion is a sign that grace has not yet reached the center. Let the magnitude of what Christ freely gave — forgiveness you could not earn, righteousness you did not deserve, eternal life you could not purchase — move you from duty to delight. Receive before you give. The order matters. Naaman worshiped because he received. Gehazi corrupted because he grabbed. You cannot give from grace you have not first received. Sit with the gospel this week — not as a theological category but as a personal reality. You were sick. You were healed. You owe nothing. Respond accordingly. Today in The Catechism Series, we begin with two basic questions: what is a catechism, and why are we using the Roman Catechism, also known as the Catechism of the Council of Trent? Before we enter into the Creed, the Sacraments, the Commandments, and Prayer, it is important to understand the kind of book the Church has given us, and the authority it carries. Fr. Richard Boyle explains the history of the Roman Catechism, its connection to the Council of Trent, and why Catholics today still need clear, systematic formation in the truths of the Faith. The SSPX Podcast is produced by Angelus Press, which has as its mission the fortification of traditional Catholics so that they can defend the Faith, and reaching out to those who have not yet found Tradition. – – – – – – What is the SSPX? The main goal of the Society of Saint Pius X is to preserve the Catholic Faith in its fullness and purity, to teach its truths, and to diffuse its virtues, especially through the Roman Catholic priesthood. Authentic spiritual life, the sacraments, and the traditional liturgy are its primary means of bringing this life of grace to souls. Although the traditional Latin Mass is the most visible and public expression of the work of the Society, we are committed to defending Catholic Tradition in its entirety: all of Catholic doctrine and morals as the Church has always defended them. What people need is the Catholic Faith, without compromise, with all the truth and beauty which accompanies it. https://sspx.org

Ten years. 500 episodes. In this solo celebration episode, I go back to how this whole thing started — a course launch, a Pat Flynn binge, and a production team begging me to stop selling jobs — and get honest about the seasons I nearly walked away. Plus video messages from people in this community that absolutely wrecked me. Key Takeaways The gear trap is real. Wanting to sound like Pat Flynn almost delayed the show indefinitely — start with what you've got and iterate from there. Consistency beats wiring. Quick-start entrepreneurs are built to pivot, and sticking with one thing for a decade compounds in ways you can't see at month six. The podcast paid back in learning and relationships long before it paid back in revenue — free access to experts who'd normally charge thousands. Authenticity has a price tag. Slower growth, smaller numbers, and a business you can actually stand behind. In This Episode [00:00] Welcome to the show! Just start talking about the thing that you care about. Show up, and then iterate." "I said I want to sound like Pat Flynn. That can be a trap, because then the mic's really expensive, so I'll wait until I can afford it and then I'll start my show." "Being authentic, at least how I'm wired, comes at a cost." "Sure, we sold a lot of courses and helped a lot of people figure out their profit margin and all the nerdy stuff. But the relationships have been truly a treasure." "While everyone else is talking about cameras and gear and TikTok, you spent 500 episodes helping filmmakers actually build businesses." — Travis, Minneapolis video production company Links Find out more about the Studio Sherpas Mastermind Join the Grow Your Video Business Facebook Group Follow Ryan Koral on Instagram Follow Grow Your Video Business on Instagram Join the Studio Sherpas newsletter
In this episode of Theatrically Authentic, Sarah Atherton-Knight and Simon Scott dive deep into Hamilton — the cultural phenomenon that transformed modern musical theatre and became a hyperfixation for an entire generation of neurodivergent fans. From lyrical density and internal rhyme to reprises, motifs, and layered historical storytelling, they explore why Hamilton feels less like a musical… and more like a system built to be decoded. Sarah reflects on her experience working on Hamilton in London's West End as a member of the sound department, sharing behind-the-scenes insight into learning and mixing one of the most structurally complex musicals ever staged — and how the show shaped both her career and understanding of her own neurodivergence.
What is a virtue? It is a good habit. On the flip side, there are vices. To have an authentic virtue that is pleasing in the eyes of God means that have to be in a state of grace. In this day and age, we have become accustomed to our worldly comforts. Moreover, when it comes to the virtue of meekness, we are tempted to throw it off under the false desire to not look week. We wish to be militant. But often that does not come from a desire to serve Our Lord, but rather from our own pridefulness and the desire to appear strong.
