This is the second of four preview podcasts to get you ready for the ITS World Congress in Montreal, sponsored by Swarco and HMI Technologies. ITS America's interim CEO and President David St Amant explains how the congress brings together experts to face the challenges faced by our industry around the globe and to work on best-practice solutions. The issue of cyber security is tackled by Barry Einsig from Cisco who tells presenter Paul Hutton of Smart Highways Magazine that when you look across ITS there is a tremendous amount of legacy infrastructure that have to date been secured by obscurity, but that if we want to move into a connected world we need to open these systems. We hear more about the on-street demos in Montreal with ITS Canada Chairman Chris Philp, ITS Australia's CEO Susan Harris, who planned last year's highly-successful event in Melbourne, gives some advice and Michael de Santis, chair of the local arrangements committee, explains how visitors and delegates are looked after by a team of volunteers.
