It's the most dreadful time of the year, the NBA playoffs! The Sixers are playing the Raptors (again) which I will get into more later this week but before that we had to discuss some general things looming over the team including Thybulle's vaccination status that makes him ineligible to play in nearly half the series, why that makes the Deandre Jordan signing even more of a head scratcher, Doc's too late to adjust style that has us scrambling to figure out the backup center position and which eastern conference playoff path was better for the Sixers chances to win the conference and potentially the finals. We also touched on lineup configurations that include possibly resting Harden and Embiid at the same time? At the end of this episode we marveled at how far Joel Embiid has come in his career and all of the adversity he has faced to become the scoring champion and potential MVP of the league. Some other things we tackled included BBall Paul finally getting some run and Tobias Harris getting some love from a national takes men that he probably did not deserve. Enjoy! KUR President Jim Adair (2010 - 2011)
Following the Sixers' brutal, ugly, overtime win vs. the Knicks, Steve Dan and Emily sat down with Jim Adair and Max Rappaport to talk Sixers. Jim and Max discuss the week's games with our hosts - what they took away from the Bucks game, what the Sixers have shown without Joel Embiid, and where they go from here. Then, all five help to preview this week's trade deadline from a Sixers perspective. Would each prefer a Kyle Lowry, Evan Fournier or George Hill-level deal? Are the Sixers true contenders if they don't add a meaningful piece? How does LeBron James' injury potentially affect Joel Embiid's pursuit of the MVP award? Learn more about your ad choices. Chelsea and Dan welcome their first WYWY guest, good friend and Philadelphia native Jim Adair. Jim's Philly roots go back centuries, so they had plenty of ancestral-related things to discuss. He also talked about the adjustment of moving to Delaware County (a place that Dan has a fascination with), grappling with a Catholic school education, and growing up with depression. Chelsea and Dan also realize they are talking to a three-time paper airplane flying champion.
Max Rappaport and Jim Adair give their thoughts on the newest general manager of the Philadelphia 76ers, Elton "Just Thank God It's Not Another Colangelo" Brand, and break down Markelle Fultz's new jumper form. They also explain why they want zero part of a Jimmy Butler trade. Learn more about your ad choices. Visit megaphone.fm/adchoices

It's been two weeks, so we have a lot to talk about. Also, it's the offseason, so we're committed to doing something pretty different or absurd in each podcast. First, we discuss Sam Hinkie's Twitter awakening, Allen Iverson's Hall Of Fame speech, Brett Brown's press lunch, the return of Elton Brand, and the various Embiid media of the week. Then, we provide you with something incredible and ridiculous. We've recorded and put together an audiobook of Sam Hinkie's resignation letter. The various pages are read by us, LL Pavorsky, Max Rappaport and Jim Adair, Chris Ryan and Andy Greenwald, Sean Carroll, Andrew Goldstein, Ben Detrick, Mike Weber, Michael Baumann, and Eliza Hardy Jones. This is an all-timer.
So last week the Sixers acted like an African Dictatorship and had a profound shakeup in a front office which was already under all kinds of national and local fire because of "The Process". I sat down with Jim Adair of CrossingBroad.com who kind of looks like he's sporting Groucho Grease in this photo. Jim spelled out and nicely recapped the whole she-bang to date in a way that an NBAvoider like myself could wrap his tiny little head around. I think you'll find it interesting even if you don't like basketball, or sports, or me. You can find Jim on the Twitters here and you can check out his clever tee shirts at OptionaliTEES. As always, like us on Facebook, and leave a review in iTunes. Subscribe and enjoy, thanks. Adam
