Heyyyyy soooooooo its definitely been a long time since the last one buuuuutttt.....we're back again? It's been a crazy year for me (Jack) which has sort of interrupted my ability to commit to long term projects but we're finally in a place where we felt good enough to record a podcast together at last! This is a crazy episode jam packed with reviews and, of course, all of the funniest jokes you could imagine. We talked about Oppenheimer, a NEW Grinch Video Game, The Technology Museum of Innovation, and a book by famous gamer Tyler "Ninja" Blevins. I hope you enjoy this episode and I'm sorry for going dark randomly for so long. We plan on being back in a couple of weeks but aren't sure on a release schedule just yet. If you'd like to submit something to the show, go ahead and send us an email at onestarcast@gmail.com Can't wait to talk to you guys on the next one, love you bye bye

Joshua jumps in an escape pod from the Earned 5-Star mothership to have a quiet chat about Notre Dame Football and the transfer portal. In this episode: The new normal. The wide receiver situation. The futility of breaking news and people doing their worst Pete Thamel impersonation. Explanations that most people won't like. A different way to look at the portal. Terrible comments are terrible comments. And plenty of other quick (and not so quick) thoughts mixed in throughout the show. It was only supposed to be 20 minutes... Please RATE and REVIEW! Joshua, Jude, and Brendan stiff-armed another cozy fall evening with their families to talk about Notre Dame's recent win over the Wake Forest Demon Deacons, and to preview the final regular season game for the Irish - the Stanford Cardinal. In this episode: HELLO! Joshua is late to a funeral. Let's talk about the Michigan Wolverines for a while because we should never ease up on hammering them for being a bunch of cheaters. True villain things and a certain level of respect. Federal prison or what? Notre Dame blew out Wake Forest and we're here to talk about like five plays of the game. The misuse of Audric Estime has become a national problem. Audric Estime and a decision that he has to make very soon. Joshua and Brendan get into a fight after Jude lights a match. Does Stanford stink? Of course they do, and Brendan is here to talk about it. Going out to the farm is dumb. The Earned 5-Star Top 20 has a lot of teams tied. The weekly game picks gets ambushed by a special guest whose name sounds like Tregg Tehran. The future of Blake Fisher and "Tregg" pretends to be a gypsy. Other things. We appreciate hearing back from you. Candy war victory. Let's talk about hipsters. Attractive actresses. The pac12 Network and the joy of Periscope. Stop shaving your facial hair unless you really want to break your covenant with god. Uniform talk... SOCK TALK. The dream is alive for Joshua's Iowa Hawkeyes. Previewing the Demon Deacons and Brendan does the thing. The Earned 5-Star Top 20. Mobster movies. The terribleness of the Penn State Nittany Lions. The Michigan Wolverines are a bunch of cheaters and the people in charge are nothing but fanboys. The weekly game picks. Excited for new people to Notre Dame Stadium. Joshua, Jude, and Brendan are here to recap the bye week we just had for Notre Dame Football. This was supposed to be a massive Q&A episode, but Joshua absolutely dropped the ball - so sorry about that. In this episode: HELLO! Just a tip if you live in the Fort Wayne area - or ever have a date night with the wife in any normal American city. Thanksgiving pregaming. The Oxford comma. The Michigan Wolverines snuggle right up to their villain role and Jude is here for it. The dream is still alive for the Iowa Hawkeyes. James Franklin is trash and the Penn State Nittany Lions continue to be a fraud. Joshua's sons hate him. REVIEWS! Should Gerad Parker be on his way out? Is Chansi Stuckey the inverse of Autry Denson? The Steve Angeli VS Sam Hartman debate makes another appearance. Father Jenkins is the president of Notre Dame... and some people may need to know that. Thinking about Notre Dame's future bowl opponents. Peace out Jimbo. Notre Dame's 2024 schedule is trash and we need to talk about it. Brendan's full defense of the Florida State Seminoles. Ohio gets on the level of Michigan and New York. REVIEWS! Fighting the weight of expectations. How bad is it really? Kentucky geography. The disappointment of the Sam Hartman experience. Things that happened in the loss to Clemson. Things that didn't happen in the loss to Clemson. Offensive woes. Less field goals and more field balls. Weekly game picks and Joshua's slide. There are some pretty funky lines this week. Greg Flammang jumps on the pod to give his Top 20, but before he does, the guys blast him with a multitude of questions and hot takes. Should Steve Angeli be starting over Sam Hartman for the rest of the season? The Earned 5-Star Top 20 doesn't have Jude's ballot or the Michigan Wolverines anywhere. And plenty more weaved in and out of the show. Please RATE and REVIEW! All reviews left on Apple Podcasts will be read on the next Earned 5-Star Podcast. Go Irish! Learn more about your ad choices. Joshua, Jude, and Brendan are well rested after Notre Dame's cheeseburger bye week (part 1) and the 58-7 stomping of Pat Narduzzi and the Pittsburgh Panthers. Next up for the Irish is Dabo Swinney and the Clemson Tigers, and we're here to talk about it (among other things). In this episode: HELLO! Should Joshua join a cult? REVIEWS! Joshua, Jude, and Brendan are done eating cheeseburgers and break out the pod machine as the Notre Dame Fighting Irish welcome Pat Narduzzi and the Pittsburgh Panthers to South Bend for a little ACC roll in the hay. In this episode: HELLO! It's spooky season. The Michigan Wolverines are out here cheating (allegedly) and whether or not it's a big deal. REVIEWS! Would the college football playoff committee leave out an 11-1 SEC team if there are four undefeated teams from Power Five conferences? We're out here causing car crashes. Going over our preseason prop bet list... and it's a lot like you think it would be (some right and a some very much not right). Brendan breaks down Pitt and tells us if the Panthers actually stink. Minimal Phil Jurkovec talk is kind of hilarious if you think about it. Sam Hartman VS Pitt (don't look it up). Weekly game picks. Is the spread too big for Notre Dame VS Pitt? Joshua, Jude, and Brendan bust out of the insane asylum and run directly to the first pod machine they can find to talk about Notre Dame's horrific performance against the Louisville Cardinals and to preview the Battle of the Jeweled Shillelagh against the USC Trojans... which is to say that the trio took a moment but they're here now. In this episode: HELLO! Fun facts to start your day. An amazing major league baseball conversation. Was the Louisville game more like Miami in 2017 or Michigan in 2019? Either way... it ain't good. Louisville was UP for this game. Notre Dame and the Worf Effect. Picking apart many moments from the game, but the 4th and 11 from their own 35 felt like an assault. A list of coaching criticisms. Marcus Freeman, Chansi Stuckey, Joe Rudolph, and Gerad Parker are all targets. The Earned 5-Star Top 20. Brendan previews USC and it's all very comforting. Jeweled Shillelagh rants. The weather is coming. Game picks. Greg Flammang drops in to give his rankings and analysis (and to roast Jude mercilessly). Plus much more weaved in and out of the show. Please RATE and REVIEW! Happy college football Saturday y'all! I just wanted to use the pod machine to give you guys a boost while you do your Saturday morning chores (or whatever) and it brought me down a fun little path. Short and sweet... which former MAC football player do you wish you could swap out at Notre Dame during that same period? My own personal choice had me pounding away at some research (also known as Googling) and the results had me chuckling. My choice is GOOOOOOD. So have some fun with that. BONUS... I was able to hide this episode from Jack Valor, and we finally have that Central Michigan preview from Brendan up and running for you. You know... if you were unsure if CMU was secretly trash or not. Enjoy! Please RATE and REVIEW! All reviews left on Apple Podcast will be read on the next Earned 5-Star Podcast. Go Irish! Joshua wipes the dust off of the old Off The Rails studio, because he has a point to make (and he's been drinking). College football is fixing itself to be an entirely different sport than what we knew it to be just a decade ago - let alone the sport we first fell in love with as kids and young adults. So much of what has been done, and what is being done currently, is the opposite of what's good for the sport, and therefore evil. But where does this evil come from? What is the origin? Who is this bastard demon that St. Michael cast into hell with Satan and all the other evil spirits? Is it truly Notre Dame? There are a lot of arrows that point in South Bend's direction, and for good reason - but is it their fault? Maybe. As always... PLEASE RATE AND REVIEW!
