Man könnte sagen: Servicewüste Deutschland, Staffel 1. Folge starten.

Nova Scotia MP Chris d'Entremont's decision to cross the floor to the Grits handed them a crucial vote to pass their budget and triggered a chain of events that left Conservative Leader Pierre Poilievre struggling to maintain his grip on his caucus. In this episode of "It's Political," the Toronto Star's Ottawa bureau reporters — Raisa Patel, Mark Ramzy, Ryan Tumilty and deputy bureau chief Alex Ballingall — join Althia to discuss the events since the tabling of the Liberals' budget and what factors will play in Monday's crucial budget vote. Can Mark Carney's government survive? But before that discussion, the Canadian Tax Observatory's CEO Heather Scoffield breaks down the content of that budget. "It's Political" is produced by Althia Raj and Kevin Sexton. Our sound engineer is Matt Hearn. Our theme music is by Isaac Joel. The audio clips this week were sourced from ParlVu, CPAC, CBC and CTV.

This is a free preview of a paid episode. To hear more, visit zeteo.comThis past week, Trump took his crusade against the free press all the way across the pond, threatening the BBC with a $1 billion lawsuit over an edit of his Jan. 6 speech. “Not only are they [the Trump administration] reshaping the media landscape in the US in their image – they're now boasting of taking down a foreign news broadcasters' leadership. A broadcast, of course, with global reach,” Owen says to Mehdi. In this episode of ‘Two Outspoken,' Mehdi and Owen meet in London to explain why the BBC is only helping Trump by “rolling over” and having their executives resign over the scandal. They also debunk claims of the BBC's leftist and pro-Palestine bias – revealing that it's actually the other way around. The two dive deep into the Labour government's dishonest portrayal of the Maccabi fan ban in Birmingham – which police have now confirmed was put in place due to “significant levels of hooliganism” from the fan base, rather than antisemitic threats from inside the UK.“Keir Starmer and Lisa Nandy, the British government, as well as the British media, decided to throw Birmingham under a bus…to protect racist football hooligans from a state committing genocide,” Owen says to Mehdi.Mehdi and Owen also expose just how pro-Palestine some in Keir Starmer's cabinet used to be, with Mehdi telling Owen that they, “threw their own views under the bus for power.”Paid subscribers can watch the full interview. 2025-11-12 | Silicon Wafers 053 | Ukraine's $100M Energy Graft Scandal. Ukraine's anti-graft agencies say they've cracked a $100 million kickback ring in the energy sector, centred on state nuclear operator Energoatom. Seven suspects, five in custody, two on the run — and the blast radius of this scandal now reaches cabinet level. President Volodymyr Zelensky has pushed for the ousting of two ministers as searches, arrests, and wiretaps spill into public view. All this while Ukraine gears up for EU accession and Russia pounds Ukraine's grid. (The Washington Post)What is “Operation Midas”? Ukraine's independent anti-corruption bodies — NABU and SAPO — unveiled a long-running probe alleging 10–15% “rebates” skimmed from Energoatom contractors by a “high-level criminal organization.” The alleged total: $100 million. (The Washington Post)Investigators say the scheme matured over 15 months and 1,000 hours of audio; 70 raids followed. Former intelligence officer and Democratic senate candidate from Kentucky Joel Willett joins Chuck Todd for a wide-ranging and deeply personal conversation — from his post-9/11 path into military service to the experiences that pushed him toward the Democratic Party. They highlight the parallels between his own story and JD Vance’s, offering candid thoughts on Hillbilly Elegy and how addiction, inequality, and disillusionment shape modern politics. He argues that the fentanyl crisis can’t be solved by policing supply alone — the real solution lies in investing in treatment, healthcare access, and rebuilding opportunity in communities like his home state of Kentucky. The conversation turns sharp as Willett critiques senate Democrats’ handling of the recent shutdown deal, calling it a “betrayal of the public,” and weighs in on the Democrats’ leadership struggles, the GOP’s subservience to Trump, and the erosion of national security norms. From the dangers of AI-era inequality to the growing politicization of the intelligence community, Willett warns that without courage and reform, even the institutions built to protect democracy could falter. The BBC's outgoing secretary-general Tim Davie, has told staff members the organisation has made mistakes, but needs to fight for its journalism. Correspondent Stuart Smith spoke to Ingrid Hipkiss from London.
Richard Ayre is a former Controller of Editorial Policy and Deputy Chief Executive of BBC News, and later became a member of the BBC Trust. We discuss the BBC's crisis: how the organisation should respond to legal threats from Trump; the resignations of Tim Davie and Deborah Turness; the actions and inaction of the editorial guidelines and standards committee; and the wider impact on BBC journalism.Richard also explains the process for appointing a new Director General, the implications for Charter Renewal, and the failures of the current governance system."Ministers have the power now to insert onto the shortlist people of their own choosing, irrespective of what any independent panel says. It's corrupt. It invites corruption. We have to take all public appointments out of political hands, and that includes the non-executive directors of the BBC."Listen to all our episodes here: https://podfollow.com/beebwatch To support our journalism and receive a weekly blog sign up now for £1.99 per month www.patreon.com/BeebWatch/membership @beebwatch.bsky.social@BeebRogerInstagram: rogerboltonsbeebwatchLinkedIn: Roger Bolton's Beeb Watchemail: roger@rogerboltonsbeebwatch.com Hosted on Acast. BBC director general Tim Davie and CEO of News Deborah Turness have resigned over the way a documentary on Donald Trump was edited. It comes after the Telegraph published details of a leaked internal BBC memo, suggesting Panorama edited two parts of Trump's speech together so he appeared to explicitly encourage the Capitol riots of January 2021.

National MP Andrew Bayly wants to clear up details of events that led him to resign his ministerial roles. It was after allegations in February he'd placed a hand on a staffer's upper arm, during what he called an animated discussion. No formal complaint was made - but he says that's contrary to what he was led to believe and he now regrets resigning. He says multiple things prompted him to quit. "It wasn't just the formal complaint, it was the statement that three people corroborated the allegations and that was what made me get to a position where I offered my resignation." You have a keeping problem. Most small businesses don't lose people because they can't find good staff — they lose them because the business isn't set up to keep them. I'm running a free live training called Keep Your Best People — The Proven Framework for Loyalty, Accountability, and Results. I'll show you exactly how to stop the turnover cycle, build consistency in your team, and finally feel confident leading again. It's happening Wednesday 29 October at 1pm AEDT. In this episode, Dave and Jamison answer these questions: How would you handle a situation where a team forms a negative opinion about you from day one — without any clear reason and without ever giving you a real chance to prove yourself? Even when you contribute technically, your suggestions are ignored… until someone else repeats the same thing and suddenly it's considered valid. Is it possible to stay in that kind of environment without becoming bitter or burned out? Can you keep contributing professionally — or is it healthier to just walk away? You guys are awesome. Jamison, I interviewed with you and it was lots of fun and productive. Which is really rad. Now… I just landed a 12-month contract in big tech role. It's perfectly aligned with my long-term career goals. My current fintech FTE is perfectly opposed to my long-term career goals. The question — how unethical / despicable would it be to start one week of PTO at my FTE on the same day as Day One at my contract role so that I can onboard without distractions and then put in my resignation upon returning to my FTE? What about two, three, or four weeks of PTO? Also… are two-week notices still the default still in 2025? Also also… I promise I'm not AI — I've been using em dashes since the 20th century.
