In sports, the Badger men's basketball team got a nice win last night, the Bucks play tonight and look to win a third straight, a look at the NFL's Week 18 schedule along with the College Football bowl game schedule. Cool story about a toy store in Arizona that donated a bunch of toys to the local Salvation Army right before Christmas…and another incredible story of a group of middle schoolers who helped save a bus driver who was experiencing a medical emergency. Elsewhere in sports, the latest on the Stefon Diggs situation, his brother Trevon Diggs gets released by the Cowboys, and Nikola Jokic is going to be out for a month after injuring his knee the other day. As we say goodbye to 2025, we listed some of the rockers & celebrities who died in the past year. Nathan shares how his passion for tracking first began, how that obsession eventually grew into filming and starting Stillwater Outdoors, and the unique challenges that come with tracking down big woods bucks in the harsh conditions of northern Wisconsin. We dive into how he identifies big buck tracks from the rest, and how to tell fresh tracks from old tracks. Nathan explains the ideal snow and weather conditions for successful tracking and how to approach each track. He also recounts memorable encounters from this past season that highlight both the highs and lows of hunting on the ground. Lastly, the guys dive into hunting over bait and why it isn't nearly as effective as many people might think. In this episode, I'm walking through how we prepare our goat herd for breeding season on our ranch, and why flushing is less about grain and more about timing and rising energy intake. I explain how our does typically come off pasture somewhat thin due to declining forage quality and demands of lactation, how we use a gradual hay-based recovery phase after weaning, and why we don't rush into flushing too early. You'll hear how we intentionally set the stage so that a modest energy increase 2–3 weeks before breeding actually produces a favorable reproductive response.
