Hour 3 kicks off with the NBA deadline chaos and the biggest headline hanging over everything: Giannis. The show then pivots to the Tom Brady controversy after he says he has “no dog in the fight” for the Super Bowl. Patriots fans are annoyed, former teammates are chirping, and an active player goes as far as saying he's “disgusted,” turning Brady into a weird New England villain story. The guys debate whether Brady is detached, protecting broadcast credibility, or just wired to compete at whatever he's doing next. Then the real breaking news hits. Shams reports the Bucks have told teams they are keeping Giannis through the deadline. Evan frames it as the best possible outcome for Knicks fans because it keeps a rival from getting stronger now, while leaving the door open for summer chaos. They also talk through the strange ripple effects: Milwaukee possibly shutting him down, Shams' careful wording, and how Giannis could still weaponize his leverage later by scaring off teams with the “I'm not re-signing there” card. The segment ends with the bigger theme: the East feels wide open, the Celtics are compromised without a fully healthy Tatum, and this is exactly the kind of season where the Knicks get a real shot to “finish the story” before the summer superstar carousel starts again.
Hour 3 opens with Giannis dominating the NBA deadline conversation, plus the fallout from Tom Brady's “no dog in the fight” comments as even active players pile on. Then the real deadline bomb drops: Shams reports the Bucks are keeping Giannis, which the show calls the best possible news for Knicks fans and a major setup for a wild summer. Minutes later, the Knicks strike anyway, landing Jose Alvarado in a low-risk move built for playoff minutes. The guys break down why he's a perfect pest defender, why it helps if Deuce McBride's injury lingers, and how “Jose Jose” might return at the Garden. It also sparks a classic New York argument: Knicks title odds vs Islanders “sport nature” logic, complete with soapbox energy and lap talk. The hour wraps with Jets frustration returning fast as the conversation shifts to roster building, reputation, and why the Knicks are the blueprint for fixing a broken franchise. Leon Rose gets his flowers for deadline hits, while the Jets still feel stuck in the cycle.
Matt Spiegel and Laurence Holmes opened their show by wondering what the Bulls have up their sleeve ahead of the trade deadline Thursday after they dealt guard Coby White to the Hornets on Wednesday afternoon. After that, they discussed if the Bulls could be eyeing a trade for Bucks star Giannis Antetokounmpo.
On today's Kevin O'Connor show, we've got a trade-deadline special! Kevin O'Connor is joined by Tom Haberstroh to dissect any and all movement in the league before the 3 PM ET buzzer, going through the biggest winners and losers in what may be the weirdest trade deadline in NBA history.First, the pair discuss the Milwaukee Bucks' decision to retain Giannis Antetokounmpo, and what that means for the landscape of the NBA–and for the future outlook of the Golden State Warriors, especially after the anticlimactic end of the Jonathan Kuminga saga. Were the Warriors the biggest losers of the trade deadline? Will another team arise in the summer to win the Antetokounmpo sweepstakes?Next, they discuss the James Harden trade to the Cleveland Cavaliers, and if this move can bring the city of Cleveland to the Finals once again. Then, they muse on what exactly made this deadline so weird: multiple All-Stars being traded to bad NBA teams. They ask: why are bad teams trading for good players? Why are the Utah Jazz putting their top-8 protected first round pick in jeopardy? Why such a paltry return for Anthony Davis, who was traded for Luka Doncic just last year?Plus, they cover all the bases with the more local trades made, from the Chicago Bulls picking up 9 second round picks to the Boston Celtics acquiring their long-coveted big man in Nikola Vucevic. Plus more questions: why didn't the Sacramento Kings trade for Ja Morant? Why did the Philadelphia 76ers let go of Jared McCain? All that and much, much more on today's KOC Show!(0:16) Trade deadline instant reactions(4:33) Giannis not traded by Bucks(10:39) Warriors trade Kuminga to Hawks(25:49) Cavs get James Harden(43:34) Wizards acquire Anthony Davis(48:22) Clippers trade Zubac to Pacers(55:57) Jazz trade for Jaren Jackson Jr.(1:02:18) Ja Morant stays in Memphis(1:07:45) Timberwolves trade recap(01:10:18) What are the Chicago Bulls up to?(01:13:05) Celtics trade Simons for Vucevic(01:19:04) 76ers trade Jared McCain to OKC

The guys are still dealing with the sorrow of the reports that Giannis will not be traded from the Bucks. Tobin continues to echo the thoughts around many Heat fans as it feels like the Heat continue to not deliver with big trade after apparently being in the “talks” while Leroy tries to play optimist. We finish off the show with Tobin swearing he will behave better tomorrow (doubtful).
Trade deadline day is here and the gang spends the entire show waiting on the Miami Heat to make a move. Leroy pushes back on Tobin and Brittney's “negative” outlook while Tobin yells down to 601 Biscayne Blvd. begging Pat Riley to PLEASE DO SOMETHING. As the deadline approaches, Heat frustration grows, Tobin's tirade continues, and the guys break down all the NBA news while also taking a quick timeout to discuss the future of Tua as the Dolphins' starting QB. Things take a dark turn when reports confirm the Bucks will not be trading Giannis, sending Tobin into a full meltdown aimed at Milwaukee, Giannis, and just about everyone else. Heat fans call in to react to the failed dream trade, and the show closes with lingering sorrow, Leroy trying to stay optimistic, and Tobin swearing he'll behave better tomorrow (doubtful).
Things take a dark turn in hour three when the reports hit that the Bucks informed teams that they would not be trading Giannis before the trade deadline. Tobin spends the better part of the hour lasting out on just about everyone and everything… he starts it off yelling towards Milwaukee and Giannis at the windowplex.
