In today's message, Pastor Marc Sharp continues the new series called "Compare and Contrast" by discussing assumption and assurance. What is assurance? Is it important? If it is, why don’t pastors and authors talk much about it anymore? Has assumption replaced assurance in modern churches? Pastor Marc takes us on a journey through church history that may surprise you! Today's service was also live-streamed on Facebook for those who could not attend in person. If you would like to view the complete video of the service, go to: https://www.facebook.com/northridgelife/videos/236937584259876/ (copy and paste into your web browser address bar). You may also visit the church website, www.northridgelife.org, and Facebook page, www.facebook.com/northridgelife/ for additional information and updates.

The game of Chinese Whispers is humourous when the message that starts travels along the line and is often completely different by the end. Though while humourous if a game, what if the Gospel was at risk of a similar fate? That what was first said, over centuries, has been mistranslated, or miscommunicated. The book of Galatians contains evidence of this happening within the first century. How about now? Have we misinterpreted some of the Gospel? Have we diluted some of its meaning? Join us this week as we explore akoloutheo.
God is all in, He sent His only Son to redeem us ... we can be under that covering, that sacrifice, but it's our choice. Your Move Chief is a challenge, an encouragement, a question ... if it's our move, how will we play it? Are we all in? Or all out? There's no lukewarm, sitting on the fence.
Where there is no vision, the people are unrestrained. If people can't see what God is doing, they stumble all over themselves; but when they attend to what he reveals, they are most blessed.
Are there some people so far beyond the grace of God that they can't be saved? God can save anyone. Jesus didn't believe you cannot come, he said that you will not come. What keeps people from Jesus and Heaven, is their own will. A person who rejects God, has their conscious seared to where they are beyond feeling. Romans 1:28, God gave them over to a reprobate mind.

Our church focuses on the Big Rocks of the faith that unite, and not the minor points of doctrine that divide. These so-called Big Rocks are clearly outlined in Scripture which is our guide. Scripture also tells us that Jesus is of "first importance". Jesus is the biggest rock, the cornerstone of the faith. Therefore, it is important for us to know Jesus and get connected with Jesus.

Serving the Lord is a vital aspect to any thriving relationship with Jesus Christ. There is something about serving Him that endears us to Him and causes our passion for Him to flourish. At the same time, serving Him can become a subtle substitute for knowing Him. Let's find what's God's opinion about this.
The way we live out our Christianity can be often times be determined by this one question: do you know Him or are you known by Him? In this installment of For Everyone, Pastor Ben shows us the difference between knowing and being known.

Trying to understand God's promises is difficult when, for so many, God appears more like a celebrity than a friend. When we are just a fan or a follower, rather than family. This week we look to break through more of the barriers that stop us from having a loving, intimate, personal relationship with our Father.

You say you believe in God. Do you really? Do you live your life as if God is in the room, or do you assume He's not paying attention? You call yourself a Christian. Are you who you say you are? This series walks us through a modern cultural phenomenon: the person who says they believe, but whose life bears no fruit. (* The notes for the sermon are a downloadable PDF so you can follow along.)

Enjoying eternal life begins with a relationship with Almighty God, through what was provided for us by Jesus Christ on the cross and from the empty tomb. Be encouraged by these thoughts concerning the immensity of eternity and the brevity of our earthly lives.
