In this episode, Cato Institute's Scott Lincicome and Adam Michel dive deep into the sweeping new legislation—dubbed "The One Big Beautiful Bill"—moving through Congress. They break down what's at stake as key provisions of the 2017 tax reform are set to expire, unpack the bill's complex mix of tax cuts, new carve-outs, and industrial subsidies, and examine why temporary tax policy and policy uncertainty could derail economic growth. Plus, they confront the fiscal fiction behind tariffs as a reliable revenue source and make the case for a cleaner, more permanent pro-growth tax system. Sermon: Easter to Pentecost: Four Things We Need to Know; Bradley Fritch John 20:19-22
Called When did you first feel the nudge to write? Since then, have you ever asked yourself these questions… Am I really called to write? Did I hear God wrong? There are so many other gifted writers out there already. Why should I even bother? God does not limit His message to a select few. We each offer something unique because we are created uniquely in His image. Four Things that confirm our calling to write: 1.) We have a story to share with others. “Come and listen, all you who fear God, and I will tell you what he did for me.” Psalms 66:16 NLT 2.) The words we write are a light that shines for Christ. “In the same way, let your good deeds shine out for all to see, so that everyone will praise your heavenly Father.” Matthew 5:16 NLT 3.) The words we write can outlive us and impact those who come behind us. “Let this be recorded for future generations, so that a people not yet born will praise the Lord.” Psalms 102:18 NLT 4.) There will simply never be enough books written that seek to magnify Jesus. The market cannot be too flooded or saturated with books that lift up Jesus. “Jesus also did many other things. If they were all written down, I suppose the whole world could not contain the books that would be written.” - John 21:25 NLT Resources: If you're ready to take a step of faith and finally finish your book, we have a few ways we can help you. 1. Most nonprofits are under-funded. Even if you think your nonprofit is doing well, we've found you could be doing much better. However, most nonprofits don't have a clear development strategy that keeps them grounded. As a result, they "get creative" and "try new things" based on what is popular or trending, or they get comfortable with where they are at and don't realize the dangers they will be facing in just a few short years. The Perfect Vision Dinner Course is a 20-week "live video" course that addresses this problem head on. The course was developed by Jim Dempsey after 38+ years as a Senior Development Director at Cru. After Jim had personally done over 2,500 vision dinners in his lifetime and raised over $1 billion worldwide, Jim and Jason have partnered together to bring you Fundraising Masterminds. Our first course, The Perfect Vision Dinner is a time-tested proven formula that will introduce our development system and grow your nonprofit to its maximum potential. The course includes 20-hours of personalized development coaching from Jim Dempsey and Jason Galicinski and also includes a real-time community group where you have access to everyone attending the course and also our Masterminds throughout the course. The goal for this course is to fully equip you with a Biblical basis for Development so that you can Win, Keep and Lift new partners to higher levels of involvement with your nonprofit. → https://FundraisingMasterminds.net FOLLOW US ON SOCIAL MEDIA: → Instagram: https://instagram.com/fundraising.masterminds → Facebook: https://facebook.com/fundraising.masterminds Episode Keywords: major donor, major donor rating, major donor fundraising, major donor program, kickstart your major donor program, major donors, major partner, major partners, major partner program, 4 steps to starting a major donor program, starting a major donor program, 4 steps to starting a major donor program for your nonprofit, starting a major donor program for your nonprofit, donor relationships, major gift, major donor fundraising strategies, jim dempsey, fundraising strategies, donor.

FAMILIES ROCK Parenting SeriesThese four critical areas are what we know will impact your family more than anything else you are doing. If you get them right, your family will prosper. If you fumble through them or simply don't understand them, your family will likely suffer. Todays's show is a glimpse into our Families Rock Parenting Series that we have been offering and teaching for years. We have taken all of our experience and joined it with the best researched practices to give you an easy to understand and apply process. Session 1-Navigating Emotions at Home This session uncovers how the emotions of parents and children impact the parent/child relationship. We will equip parents with effective strategies for healthy emotional regulation and support of child and parent. We will be talking about how to bring down the emotional temperature in the home by shifting from REACTING to RESPONDING as parents. Session 2-Value Based Parenting- In this session, we describe the different seasons of parenting and our role as parents in each one. We talk about the different ineffective styles of parenting we see today and unpack the healthiest and most effective style of parenting we've seen in our 35 yrs working with families. We talk about why being a united front is so important and the CORE critical developmental assets/values parents can model and emphasize at home. Session 3-Healthy Relationships-Children often model what they see at home which is why we use this session to teach the personal boundaries behind healthy relationships. We give parents a very practical word picture to take home and teach to their children. We'll be taking the plan we built in Session 2 and creating a foundation for healthy relationships and a strong and healthy home.Session 4-Parenting in a Tech Heavy World- This session helps to bring awareness about our digital world today and the hidden dangers of excessive screen time. Christina Caron wrote an article about that in the New York Times (link below), and Judy and I talk about the four things Caron wrote about, and apply them specifically to couples therapy. As we discuss, therapy is often fluid, especially with couples. Goals can shift, the two members of the couple can differ in their opinions about how the therapy is going, and success isn't always easy to define. As I've written about in one of my books (It's Not About Communication), couples therapy is often like improv theater. Text your thoughts and questions! With another year coming to a close, you may be feeling ready for a “fresh” start. But before we leave this year behind us, I highly encourage reflection, celebration, and preparation during this time so you can step into the calendar year confidently. This week, episode 240 of the Positively LivingⓇ Podcast is about the four things you need to do before the year ends!In this episode of the Positively LivingⓇ Podcast, I share two strategic and two specific things you can do to set yourself up for success in the new year and give you actionable steps to take right now to approach these four things in a manageable way. I cover the following topics:Before forging ahead, take the time to pause and reflect on where you've been (I include questions to ask yourself as you reflect).Plan where you want to go by visualizing what you want to accomplish and setting aligned goals. Review your finances, spending what you may lose, and setting a realistic budget moving forward. Clear out your physical and digital clutter to make space for what is to come in the new year. By taking the time to do these things, you'll be setting yourself up for a successful and fulfilling new year. And even if you do just a little bit in each category, the return on investment will be significant. Could you use some support?
