“It's going to be okay,” my father told my mother as they faced one of their hardest seasons. She looked at him and asked, “How do you know?” And he quietly replied: “Because I know God.” That simple statement calmed my mother — and it now anchors me. Scripture points us to this kind of example: Remember your leaders, those who spoke to you the word of God. Consider the outcome of their way of life, and imitate their faith. — Hebrews 13:7 (ESV) When the future feels uncertain, caregivers don't always need detailed answers. Sometimes we just need to remember Who holds the answers.

In this Father's Day episode, Pastors Mike Breaux, Carlos Erazo and Mark McCartney discuss parenting, identity, and why the words of Jesus in the Sermon on the Mount still hit home. From dad jokes to deep spiritual insight, they unpack how to be present with your kids, how to deal with unresolved anger, and how Jesus calls us to something deeper than behavior change—He calls us to heart change. They also talk candidly about the battle with lust, how to live free without slipping into legalism, and how grace fuels true obedience. Whether you grew up with a godly example or are trying to break the cycle and be one, this episode is packed with wisdom, honesty, and encouragement for the journey.

How To Know God Intimately | Rev. Chris Wilson A. by Calvary International Christian Centre
What would change if you truly believed—deep down—that God loves you? In this powerful message, Ben Stuart walks through 1 John 4 to reveal the relentless, sacrificial, and unshakable love of God. The Father sent His Son. The Son gave His life. The Spirit remains with us. When you understand that love isn't earned but already given, it frees you from fear, insecurity, and striving—and empowers you to live with boldness, peace, and selfless love. This isn't just another sermon about God's love—it's an invitation to believe it, receive it, and be changed by it.
We kicked off our new series, The Rebel Way, by diving deep into the Sermon on the Mount—a message that's as radical and relevant today as it was when Jesus first preached it. Pastors Mike Breaux, Chris Kuti and Carlos Erazo unpack the Beatitudes and how this countercultural invitation leads us toward a life of freedom, purpose, and transformation. From personal stories of brokenness to the beauty of surrender, we explored how Jesus flips the script on what it means to be truly blessed. Whether you're struggling with pride, searching for peace, or simply longing for a deeper relationship with God, this conversation reminds us that the narrow path is the one worth walking. As we follow Jesus upstream, we discover a faith that's authentic, compelling, and full of grace.

Article 2: The Means by Which We Know God We know God by two means: First, by the creation, preservation, and government of the universe, since that universe is before our eyes like a beautiful book in which all creatures, great and small, are as letters to make us ponder the invisible things of God: God's eternal power and divinity, as the apostle Paul says in Romans 1:20. All these things are enough to convict humans and to leave them without excuse. Second, God makes himself known to us more clearly by his holy and divine Word, as much as we need in this life, for God's glory and for our salvation.
You think love is flowers, feelings, and romance? That's not love—that's marketing. In this fireside Mission Brief, Focus shares what it took him 12 years of marriage and a literal "come to Jesus" moment to finally understand: you can't truly love anyone until you know the one true God who IS love.Drawing from 1 John 4 and his own transformation from just being married the way the world sees it, to attempting to be the husband and leader God designed him to be and finally having an understanding of his true role, this isn't just Bible talk—it's a challenge to every man who wants to lead, love, and live with real purpose.

What if your biggest questions about faith, culture, and the future were all connected to something ancient—yet incredibly relevant? Join Pastors Josh Howerton, Carlos Erazo, and Tim Smith as they dive deep into the city of Corinth, uncovering its wild spiritual landscape and the surprising ways it mirrors our modern world. From the powerful symbolism of the Bema Seat to the tension between God's sovereignty and our free will, this conversation uncovers the richness of Acts 18, Paul's ministry, and the doctrine of predestination. Along the way, they explore the impact of Christian nationalism, religious liberty, and perspectives from Charlie Kirk and Texas Governor Greg Abbott—wrapped in grace, wisdom, and good humor. This one is packed with both spiritual depth and cultural insight… because yes, there is more.

If we are not walking in the light of Christ, the obstacles that should not be a problem are great stumbling blocks to us. But when we have that light, we understand how to make our way through this dark world." -Hughes, p. 234Air Florida Flight ✈️ 90"Arland Williams and five others knew their situation was hopeless.Floating in the icy Potomac River, the six survivors of Air Florida Flight 90 knew there was no way to reach the shore just forty yards away. They could hear the rescuers trying to reach them, but each attempt to cross the icy waters failed. Just as they were giving up hope, they heard the sound of an approaching helicopter. A life ring fell into the hands of one of the survivors, and he was pulled to safety. Next it fell in Arland's hands. He could be saved. But before the helicopter could pull him up, he handed the life ring to someone else. The chopper could only hold two, so it turned toward the shore and sped away. Just a few minutes later it returned. Again the life ring fell into Arland's hands, and again he handed it to someone else. The third time he did the same. There would be no fourth opportunity. By the time the helicopter had returned, Arland had disappeared below the surface. In 2007 an article was written about Arland Williams's sacrifice and appeared in Men's Health magazine. After recounting Williams's story, the author of the article asks,Why would anyone put the lives of strangers ahead of his own?He couldn't even see the faces of the people he was saving, because they were on the opposite side of the wreckage, yet he made a sacrifice for them that their best friends might have refused. (McDougall, "The Hidden Cost of Heroism")The concepts of heroism and self-sacrifice puzzle the writer. Why would someone die for someone he didn't know? He tries to analyze it scientifically and concludes,Extreme heroism springs from something that no scientific theory can fully explain; it's an illogical impulse that flies in the face of biology, psychology, actuarial statistics, and basic common sense. (Ibid.)He even quotes Charles Darwin, who "couldn't figure out how to crowbar heroism into his survival-of-the-fittest theory" (ibid.). Darwin said,He who was ready to sacrifice his life, as many a savage has been, rather than betray his comrades, would often leave no offspring to inherit his noble nature. (Ibid.)After examining the story and different theories, the writer concludes that though the act was heroic, there would be no one to pass down the family name." Rising floodwaters had cut off their way out, and they were completely in the dark. One of the greatest challenges rescuers faced wasn't just the physical danger—it was the total absence of light. In complete darkness, there's no sense of direction, no way to move forward, no way to know what's safe or deadly. The first thing rescuers brought them wasn't food or even water—it was light. Only with light could they begin the journey toward life again. In John 8:12, Jesus says, “I am the light of the world.” Without Him, we are spiritually trapped—no direction, no hope. The only affection he can remember receiving from his father lasted about thirty seconds when he was on the way to his stepmother's funeral aged nine. When he was twelve, his father also died. Francis cried, but also felt relieved. Francis is now a pastor. He and his wife, Lisa, have seven children. When his children were born, his own love for his children and his desire for their love was so strong that it opened his eyes to how much God desires and loves *us*. He said, ‘Through this experience, I came to understand that my desire for my children is only a faint echo of God's great love for me and for every person he made… I love my kids so much it hurts.' Calling his first book *Crazy Love*, he wrote, ‘The idea of Crazy Love has to do with our relationship with God. All my life I've heard people say, “God loves you.” It's probably the most insane statement you could make to say that the eternal Creator of this universe is in love with me. There is a response that ought to take place in believers, a crazy reaction to that love. Do you really understand what God has done for you? If so, why is your response so lukewarm?' The word ‘zeal' implies an *intense or passionate desire*. It can be misdirected, but as Paul writes, it is right to be zealous provided that the purpose is good (Galatians 4:18). Elsewhere he says, ‘Never be lacking in zeal' (Romans 12:11). Perhaps a good modern translation of the word ‘zeal' is ‘crazy love'.Bottom line: Jesus is the Light of the World. `To follow Him is to walk in light, know God, and live. To reject Him is to remain in darkness and die in your sin.Who do you trust?"All the time we each decide whom to trust. When we pick up medicine from the pharmacy, we trust our doctor who prescribed it and our pharmacist who prepared it. We also trust the company that developed it and the government that approved it, plus the people who trained the doctor and pharmacist and the many hands at the drug company who prepared and packaged it. When it comes to physical life, we trust our care to a lot of people. When it comes to your spiritual life, whom do you trust? Your authority is either yourself—what you think, how you feel, what you have experienced—or it's God and what he says. Do you really want to trust yourself with your eternal future? You are flesh. You didn't exist until thirty or fifty or eighty years ago. You can't keep yourself from getting sick or hurt. You cannot guarantee you will be alive tomorrow.Do you really think you're the best choice to be the ultimate authority in your life?" -CarterINVITATIONWhat about you?Peter puts it all in perspective in his first sermon:““Therefore let all Israel be assured of this: God has made this Jesus, whom you crucified, both Lord and Messiah.” When the people heard this, they were cut to the heart and said to Peter and the other apostles, “Brothers, what shall we do?” Peter replied, “Repent and be baptized, every one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins. And you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. The promise is for you and your children and for all who are far off—for all whom the Lord our God will call.”” Acts 2:36-39 NIVHow do we respond? Why is discerning God's will so difficult sometimes? Doesn't God want us to know His will? What are the keys to understanding God's will and making wise decisions? A conversation with Costi Hinn.
In my darkest moment, my greatest joy was waiting across the street and in this episode I tell the story of what proved to me forever that I have nothing to fear. So cry your tears, little one. Let life shake you. Because just as sure life will shake, it will shine. Again. And again. And....again.
What happens when a bold faith collides with a skeptical world? Pastors Josh Howerton and Carlos Erazo are joined by Pamela Baltazar and Jana Howerton for a rich, laughter-filled, and truth-packed conversation centered on Acts 17 and Paul's legendary sermon on Mars Hill. As they unpack how Paul's approach to sharing the Gospel mirrors the challenges we face in today's digital culture, the group explores how believers can engage the modern “Areopagus” of social media with courage and clarity. Along the way, they celebrate God's faithfulness through 25,000 baptisms at Lakepointe church, highlight stories of life change, and even consider whether Joe Rogan might be inching closer to Jesus. This is a powerful conversation about legacy, revival, and using every platform to share the hope found in Christ.

05/25/2025 Words of Worship | HALALHALAL: “An exuberant expression of celebration, a word that connotes boasting, raving, or celebrating.”HALAL is the primary Hebrew word for praise, from which we get the word: “Halleu” = praise and “yah” = YAHWEH. Literally, it means “Praise God”.Read 2 Samuel 6Is there a desperation in our hearts for the LORD? 1. We're more framed by culture than we are by Christ. Passion follows formation. 2. We treat God as familiar instead of Holy. 3. We underestimate what we've been saved from. A low view of sin leads to a low view of grace. 4. We want a God who serves us, not a God whom we serve. We talk a lot ABOUT God, but do we KNOW God?5. We've forgotten that worship is Spiritual warfare. When we look at how we live, do we conclude that we actually need God?We need to slow down and just spend time in God' presence. Psalm 46: 10 “Be still and know that I am God”.God is not looking for us to perform for Him, He's looking for us to surrender ourselves to Him in our worship.
By Scott Brummett - In his sermon, Mr. Scott Brummett highlighted 6 characteristics of someone who truly knows God, and contrasted that with those in the Bible who knew about God or who were religious, but didn't truly know God personally.

This sermon emphasizes the crucial difference between knowing about God and having a personal relationship with Him. Brother Bobby asserts that true knowledge of God is not gained through mere facts or information, but through a pursuit of His personality and a desire to know Him deeply. Having this personal connection with God is presented as transformative, leading to purpose, peace, and strength. The sermon concludes with practical steps for developing this relationship and an invitation to personally know God.
Today we read how Joshua and the emerging nation of Israel crossed the river Jordan – and – under divine guidance destroyed Jericho. Only Rahab (and her household) who knew and feared the true God are saved. Indeed, when we come to read Hebrews 11 we will see that she is listed among the examples of men and women of real faith. Our Isaiah chapter (10) includes the prophecy that “in that day the remnant of Israel and the survivors of the house of the house of Jacob will no more lean on him who struck them, but will lean on the LORD, the Holy One of Israel, in truth. A remnant will return, the remnant of Jacob, to the mighty God.” [v.20/21] Is that starting to happen? We watch spiritual developments in Israel with great interest. Some in God's nation are showing signs of accepting Jesus as their Messiah; we have attended at the Messianic Synagogue here and seen about 50 Jews who believe in Jesus. Some prophecies are like jigsaw pieces in our hands which we tentatively fit together without locking them into place. We noted v.22 says, “Destruction is decreed, overflowing with righteousness” and pondered its application. The nine verses of the last chapter of Hosea's prophecy are most interesting in this regard, describing the final time when God “will heal their apostasy, I will love them freely for my anger has turned from them.” [v.4]In contrast our chapters in 2 Thessalonians which plainly portray the return of Jesus describes those who will suffer God's anger “when the Lord Jesus is revealed …inflicting vengeance on those who do not know God, and on those who do not obey the gospel of our Lord Jesus … when he comes on that day to be glorified in his saints, and to be marveled at among those who have believed …” [v.7-10]Rahab will be there, those who heeded from their hearts Isaiah's message will be there! What marveling will take place! But those who do not know God will not be there! That is understandable – but the greatest anguish will surely be in those who have known – but have not obeyed.

"How Do I Know God's Will for My Life?" Charlie Woodward, 5.18.25 by
In the third week of our Smart Faith series, Pastor David Hughes explores one of life's biggest questions: How do I know God is real? From the beauty of creation to the depth of human knowledge, this message challenges us to see the evidence that points to a Creator. Faith isn't blind—God can be found.
ABOUT THIS MESSAGE The topic of the Holy Spirit is arguably the most divisive topic across the church world. But the early disciples knew and experienced the power and presence of the Holy Spirit in their lives. So what does that mean for our faith today? In part 5 of our series, “Simple Faith”, Pastor Jimmy explains what the early disciples knew about the Holy Spirit - before the debates, before the confusion, before the division - and how we can live differently today. The desire to know God. It's the heartbeat of genuine faith, isn't it? More than head knowledge, it's a deep yearning for connection with our Creator. In this message, we'll explore the Apostle Paul's prayer for the Church: that we would have a desire to grow deeper in our knowledge and confidence in God and the people He has called us to be. Part Four Ephesians Series "A Desire To Know God” (Ephesians 1:15-23) Pastor Bryan D. Edwards May 17 & 18, 2025

And I kept feeling the nudge to do something else instead… I LITERALLY had to battle myself and force myself to read. Now was it a HUGE success because I read? Did God literally open the heavens and pour out fresh anointing because of my obedience? No. Could I have been disappointed? Yes…was I? No. Because obediecnce it about the heart and because God asks it of me…not because of what I can get in return. Cause ultimately it isn't about me.There are a small group of us going through the Lisa Trk bible study on Monday's and last night we were talking about King Hezekiah…and how he started out by doing the right things but because he was blessed he then turned it into thinking that HE had something to do with his blessings. He became boastful, proud and super self centered. We chatted about the fact that this is common and relatable. I mean how many times have you tried to take credit for good things in your life that you KNOW God did? I know i've done it..I've got both hands raised right now cause I'm double guilty! It's human nature to make things about ‘me' instead of God or others. That is where choice comes in. The choice to choose reading yoru Bible even when you don't feel like it. Even when the earth doesn't shake or you feel emotional after reading. The choice to build your spiritual muscles through discipline even if you don't hear form God right away or see the difference over night- just like any other muscle right? Hebrews 12:11 For the moment all discipline seems painful rather than pleasant, but later it yields the peaceful fruit of righteousness to those who have been trained by it.Philippians 4:8Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is commendable, if there is any excellence, if there is anything worthy of praise, think about these thingsBe encouraged, challenged and blessed today!!Join the ROOTED Bible Study group here> https://stan.store/mrsangelapitnikoff/p/rootedGrab your downloadable scripture cards here>> https://stan.store/mrsangelapitnikoff/p/30-scripture-cards✨Come hang with me on IG- https://www.instagram.com/mrsangelapitnikoff/✨Join our FB sisterhood!- https://www.facebook.com/groups/kingdomdaughterssisterhood✨Want some fun free resources? Pastor Philip De Courcy charts us through the murky waters of indecision by answering the following questions: God has given us the stewardship of making decisions in life, but can you expand on the blessing and challenge this presents? What are common reasons behind indecision? Should someone seek to have "peace" before moving forward with a decision? When is it appropriate to take a step of faith? What posture should we have before the Lord when making decisions? If I make a decision that doesn't turn out so well, am I now living God's “second best?” Website: smilingatthefuturepodcast.comEmail: smilingatthefuturepodcast@gmail.com Support The Podcast: https://donorbox.org/smiling-at-2024“Off Color” Series by Philip De Courcy: https://ktt.org/sermons/series/off-colorRecommended Books: “How to Know God's Will” by Wayne Grudem “Decisions Made Simple” by Tim Chester“Found God's Will” by John MacArthur Related Episodes: 85.
