The good news for sinners. A sermon on John 3:1-17 for the second Sunday in Lent by Rev. Samantha Beach kiley.
Living Water: The Woman at the Well – John 4:1–26 In this episode of Divine Table Talk, Jamie and Jane walk through John 4:1–26, the powerful encounter between Jesus and the Samaritan woman at the well. What begins as a simple conversation about water becomes a life-changing revelation about worship, identity, and living water that never runs dry. Together, they explore how Jesus meets us in unexpected places, crosses cultural and personal barriers, and speaks directly to our deepest thirst. This passage reminds us that no past is too complicated, no question too bold, and no heart too far for the transforming presence of Christ. If you've ever felt unseen, unqualified, or spiritually dry—this conversation is for you. ____________________________________ Connect with Jamie: Website: www.jamieklusacek.com Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/jamieklusacek Connect with Jane: Website: www.janewwilliams.com Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/janewwilliams
Send a textIn this episode, Pastor Ed teaches us about the unconditional love of God. John 3:1616 For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.Romans 5:88 But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.Galatians 5:22-2322 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, 23 gentleness, self-control. Against such there is no law.1 Corinthians 13:1-71 Though I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, but have not love, I have become sounding brass or a clanging cymbal. 2 And though I have the gift of prophecy, and understand all mysteries and all knowledge, and though I have all faith, so that I could remove mountains, but have not love, I am nothing. 3 And though I bestow all my goods to feed the poor, and though I give my body to be burned, but have not love, it profits me nothing. 4 Love suffers long and is kind; love does not envy; love does not parade itself, is not puffed up; 5 does not behave rudely, does not seek its own, is not provoked, thinks no evil; 6 does not rejoice in iniquity, but rejoices in the truth; 7 bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things.Mark 12:29-3129 Jesus answered him, “The first of all the commandments is: ‘Hear, O Israel, the Lord our God, the Lord is one. 30 And you shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, with all your mind, and with all your strength.' This is the first commandment. 31 And the second, like it, is this: ‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself.' There is no other commandment greater than these.”Ephesians 2:4-54 But God, who is rich in mercy, because of His great love with which He loved us, 5 even when we were dead in trespasses, made us alive together with Christ (by grace you have been saved),Proverbs 3:3-43 Let not mercy and truth forsake you; Bind them around your neck, Write them on the tablet of your heart, 4 And so find favor and high esteem In the sight of God and man.Romans 8:38-3938 For I am persuaded that neither death nor life, nor angels nor principalities nor powers, nor things present nor things to come, 39 nor height nor depth, nor any other created thing, shall be able to separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.
Has “grace” lost its wonder? In this episode of the MY Devotional Podcast, Dr. Michael Youssef challenges the modern misconceptions that have watered grace down into mere politeness—or made it unnecessary in an age of self-sufficiency and “rights.” The Truth is far more stunning: we are sinners who could never earn our way back to God. Only Jesus' sacrifice on the cross and His righteousness credited to us can justify us before the Father (see John 3:16).Dr. Youssef then brings this Gospel reality into your everyday battles. When trials hit, anxiety rises, or temptation threatens your fellowship with God, grace becomes more than a doctrine—it becomes your lifeline. Through prayer, God steadies you with peace and security, goes before you into life's battles, and provides victory that doesn't come from your strength, but from His.If you're facing pressure, fear, or exhaustion, this devotional will lift your eyes to the promise you can cling to today: God's grace is sufficient—and His power is revealed in your weakness.Scripture Focus: Psalm 20:7 The voice you hear on the MY Devotional podcast is digitally generated with Dr. Youssef's permission. If today's devotional stirred a question, burden, or need for prayer, you don't have to walk through it alone.
He Must Increase: John 3:22–36In this episode of Divine Table Talk, Jamie and Jane explore John 3:22–36, where John the Baptist humbly declares, “He must increase, but I must decrease.” As questions of comparison and influence arise, John's response reveals a powerful model of humility, joy, and surrender.Together, they unpack what it means to live a life that points to Jesus rather than elevates self, how identity is secured in Christ—not position—and why true joy is found in making much of Him. This passage invites us to examine our motives, release comparison, and embrace a faith that celebrates Christ's increase above all.____________________________________Connect with Jamie:Website: www.jamieklusacek.comInstagram: https://www.instagram.com/jamieklusacekConnect with Jane:Website: www.janewwilliams.comInstagram: https://www.instagram.com/janewwilliams
A popular Valentine's Day gift is a stuffed animal. Many of us can remember a special stuffed animal from our own childhoods. These toys provide comfort and companionship. In fact, many adults still hold on to a beloved stuffed friend from their youth. They symbolize a sense of security that we turn to when we need solace, highlighting our innate human desire for closeness and comfort. These treasured items often come worn and stained, showing their age. They're not perfect, but a brand new stuffed animal in pristine condition simply can't replace the love and memories tied to the original. Despite their dirty and shabby appearance, these stuffed animals remain cherished. The stains and wear from years of affection only add character. Just as these toys are loved in their imperfect state, God loves us with all our flaws and imperfections. The story of Jesus touching and healing the leper reinforces this truth. The leper, considered untouchable and required to live in isolation, approaches Jesus, only asking for healing. He believed he was unworthy of physical contact. Yet Jesus touches him anyway, demonstrating compassion, acceptance, and the healing power of touch. Touch conveys love, safety, and blessing. God never forces Himself on us. Instead, He meets us with love, refuses to abandon us, and sees our unique value even in our brokenness.

Born Again: New Life from Above – John 3:1–21In this episode of Divine Table Talk, Jamie and Jane dive into John 3:1–21, the iconic conversation between Jesus and Nicodemus. What does it truly mean to be born again? Together, they unpack the difference between religious knowledge and spiritual rebirth, the role of the Spirit in new life, and the radical love of God revealed through Jesus. This passage invites us out of striving and into surrender—where belief leads to transformation and darkness gives way to lightJohn 3:3 – “Very truly I tell you, no one can see the kingdom of God unless they are born again.”John 3:5 – “No one can enter the kingdom of God unless they are born of water and the Spirit.”John 3:15 - "Whoever believes in him [Jesus] should not perish but have eternal life."John 3:16 – “For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son…”John 3:17 – “For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world…”John 3:19–21 – Light vs. darkness—what we choose reveals what we believe.____________________________________Connect with Jamie:Website: www.jamieklusacek.comInstagram: https://www.instagram.com/jamieklusacekConnect with Jane:Website: www.janewwilliams.comInstagram: https://www.instagram.com/janewwilliams
Wayne Monbleau (long-time radio host of "Let's Talk About Jesus") joins the show today to share his journey to faith 50+ years ago, the origins of the LTAJ program, and with insight into the various prizes (including his book God Loves) you can win this month as part of LTAJ being WFIL's Ministry of the Month for February. You can enter here to win (or at wfil.com) :). Reverend Monbleau has hosted "Let's Talk About Jesus" nearly 50 years, including the past 45 on WFIL (and previously WFIL's sister station AM 990 WZZD). Demond Wilson--best-known for his role as Lamont Sanford in the 70's sitcom "Sanford & Son"-- graciously joined the program in January 2019, just a few months into the Tim DeMoss Show's existence. With his homegoing at age 79 this past weekend, we re-aired that conversation in its entirety today. Wilson was funny, serious, godly, insightful--and kept TIm on his toes the entire time :). Wilson began by indirectly referencing the recently-missed double doink field goal attempt by former Eagle Cody Parkey (as the Birds hung on for a 16-15 playoff win v the Bears). Over the rest of the show, he shared about his acting career, comedy, Sanford & Son and his relationship with Redd Foxx, thoughts on the military (in which he served 1966-1968), his wife and their (at the time) 45-year marriage, being a father, and his faith in the Lord (as well as a project he was working on at the time). Psalm 90:10 comes to mind initially: "The length of our days is seventy years--or eighty, if we have the strength." Even moreso, John 14:1-4 provides much hope: "Do not let your hearts be troubled. Trust in God; trust also in me. 2 In my Father's house are many rooms; if it were not so, I would have told you. I am going there to prepare a place for you. 3 And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back and take you to be with me that you also may be where I am. 4 You know the way to the place where I am going." We also touch on Steve's musical career including his classic "Meltdown (At Madame Tussaud's)", artists he has written for/produced, and the influence of his dad and mom. Examples include "I Want To Be A Clone," "(We Don't Need No) Color Code," "Lifeboat," "I Blew Up The Clinic Real Good," "What Is The Measure of Your Success?," and "Bannerman," among a trove of others. Pastor Tamar breaks down Revelation 20:11-21:8 and what the Bible does and doesn't say about hell.
In this powerful message by Pastor Snook, we're confronted with the ultimate question: What happens when we have only 30 seconds left to live? The answer cuts through all our earthly accomplishments and moral scorecards, focusing on one crucial point - our relationship with Jesus Christ. We're reminded that it's not about how much we've done or how good we've been, but whether we've accepted Jesus as our Lord and Savior. This stark reality check urges us to examine our hearts and consider the state of our eternal souls. The message draws parallels between our physical lives and our spiritual condition, emphasizing that just as we're born physically, we must also be 'born again' spiritually to enter the Kingdom of God. This concept, central to John 3, challenges us to look beyond our religious practices and intellectual understanding, and instead seek a transformative, personal relationship with Christ.
How can we grasp the deeper essence of Genesis 1? Daniel Jeon emphasizes focusing on its repeated phrases—“And God said,” “And it was so,” “God saw that it was good,” and “And there was evening and there was morning”—to reveal God's trustworthy character and word, connecting to the Bible's overarching narrative.
"For God so loved the world that He gave..." – God has always been marked by His generosity. He gives freely to His children so that they, too, might grow in the grace of giving and spring forth with generosity as well.
