In the second part of the series Real Christianity, Pastor Mitchell takes us deep into the book of James to discuss the vital concept of active faith. He explains that while proven faith is about how we handle trials, active faith is a dynamic, living expression of belief that translates internal conviction into tangible action. Through the incredible and miraculous story of "The Heavenly Man," Brother Yun, we see what it looks like when a person is truly willing to let the Holy Spirit work through them regardless of the cost. This message breaks down James chapter 2, challenging us to eliminate partiality and favoritism from our hearts and to treat every person with mercy rather than judgment. Learn why faith without works is dead and how you can begin to show the visible fruit of salvation in your everyday life.

In this message from Matthew 15:29–16:4, Pastor Karl examines two very different groups of people who come to Jesus — and what their approach reveals about how we receive grace. The first group comes from the Decapolis, a Gentile region with no religious standing or covenant claim. They bring broken bodies, unspoken needs, and nothing to offer — and Jesus meets them with compassion, healing, and even provision they didn't know to ask for. The second group, the Pharisees and Sadducees, arrives with suspicion and a demand for proof — and Jesus refuses to perform for them. The contrast surfaces a powerful truth: Jesus has endless compassion for those who come to him needy, but no obligation to satisfy those who come feeling entitled. Unworthiness isn't a disqualification for grace — it's the prerequisite for it.Pastor Karl unpacks why the disciples hesitated to feed the 4,000 (it wasn't that they forgot what Jesus could do — it was that they questioned who he'd do it for), what it really means to "fall from grace," and why the cross is the only reliable lens through which to interpret God's love. When we bring our "not enough" to Jesus, we find that inadequacy is exactly the raw material he's looking for.Watch all our sermons on our youtube channel "Flipside Christian Church"Join us in person 8:00am, 9:30am & 11:00am every Sunday morning.37193 Ave 12 #3h, Madera, CA 93636For more visit us at flipside.churchFor more podcasts visit flipsidepodcasts.transistor.fm
Trump's endorsement just toppled a sitting U.S. senator in Texas as Ken Paxton defeated John Cornyn despite the RINO establishment pouring $100 million into stopping him. This is the second time Trump has successfully removed a sitting senator, and the message to Washington is unmistakable. Lance Wallnau breaks down exactly what happened in the Texas primary, why the MAGA base showed up with such force, and why establishment Republicans are in full panic mode. But there's a critical warning underneath the celebration: the Hispanic vote is down 25%, and if that gap isn't closed before the midterms, the energy from this primary win may not be enough to hold the general. Lance also calls out the woke progressive "evangelical" being positioned to run against Paxton in the general, explains why Tucker Carlson, Megyn Kelly, and Candace Owens have no real power over this movement, and makes the case that Texas is now the hinge state for the entire nation. 00:00 Texas primary results and Paxton's victory 01:17 Why this is a populist revolt against the RINO establishment 02:23 Mays Middleton beats Chip Roy — what it means 03:12 The challenge of converting primary energy into general election wins 05:00 Paxton's personal baggage and why the base looks past it 07:13 The Hispanic vote problem nobody is talking about 09:32 Why every local race is now a national race 10:53 Real Christianity vs. the left's woke faith alternative 13:11 Why Tucker, Megyn, and Candace can't control this movement 14:12 What the MAGA base must do before the midterms Comment the word TEXAS below if you believe this movement is just getting started. A lot of people want Jesus to rescue them—but very few want him to rule them. Summary This message confronts one of the greatest misunderstandings in modern Christianity: wanting Jesus as Savior while resisting him as Lord. Many believers seek relief from pain, anxiety, addiction, or consequences while still trying to remain in control of their own lives. But the gospel is not self-improvement—it is surrender, crucifixion of the old self, and ongoing dependence on the Holy Spirit. Real Christianity is not occasional repentance during crisis moments; it is daily submission to Christ's lordship in every area of life. Reflection & Small Group Discussion Questions: 1. Why do many people desire Jesus as Savior but resist him as Lord? 2. How does Galatians 2:20 challenge the idea of "self-improvement Christianity"? 3. What are some ways modern culture encourages self-rule and autonomy instead of surrender to God? 4. Why is salvation more than forgiveness—it is also a transfer of ownership? 5. What areas of life do people most commonly struggle to surrender to Christ? 6. How can someone tell the difference between behavior management and true spiritual transformation? 7. Why does trying to live the Christian life through natural effort lead to exhaustion? 8. What role does the Holy Spirit play in helping believers walk under Christ's lordship? 9. How does "daily dependence" differ from occasional repentance during crisis moments? 10. What is one area of your life where Jesus may be calling you to stop resisting and fully surrender?
Amos chapter 5 God delivers a powerful call to seek Him, not empty religion. Episode 8 in the Series God Has Spoken explores the difference between outward worship and genuine repentance, and why God's invitation still stands today: “Seek ye me, and ye shall live.”
Jack Stileman - How can you tell God has been at work in your life? In 1 Thessalonians 2:9–12, Paul shows us the cost and conduct of real Christian ministry: a gospel supplied freely, without charge, and a minister who went person by person — exhorting, encouraging, charging — to spur each one to walk worthily of God. Real Christianity. Produced by real Christian ministry. God at work in your life.
In this episode of The Leader's Notebook (Ep. 309), I take us to Zechariah 4:6–10, where I want to show you what the grace of God really is—and what it is not. We often treat grace as a one-time event at salvation, then spend the rest of our lives trying to move the mountains in our own strength. But Scripture says, “Not by might, nor by power, but by My Spirit, saith the Lord of hosts.” Grace is not God cheering you on while you strain and struggle. Grace is God Himself stepping in and doing what you cannot do. When we finally surrender and say, “Lord, I quit,” we discover that grace has been waiting there all along. This is a deeply practical word about living a grace-filled life—toward your family, your church, your pastor, and even yourself. Without grace, we become brittle, critical, and exhausted. With grace, we become life-giving and free. The final word of the Bible is not judgment but grace—and that is God's word over your life today. This powerful exploration of 1 John 2 challenges us to examine the evidence of authentic faith in our lives. The central message revolves around three unmistakable markers of genuine Christianity: obedience to Jesus, love for His people, and rest in His finished work. Drawing from the profound transformation that occurs when we enter into a real relationship with Christ, we discover that Christianity is not merely about knowing facts about Jesus, but about truly knowing Him in a deeply relational way. The text reminds us that just as symptoms reveal an illness we already have, our obedience and love are symptoms that reveal the spiritual life already at work within us through the Holy Spirit. We are confronted with the beautiful reality that God has placed His Spirit within us, causing us to walk in His statutes, fulfilling the ancient prophecy of Ezekiel 36. This is not about earning our salvation through works, but about the inevitable fruit that grows from the root of grace. When light enters darkness, darkness must flee, and when Christ enters our hearts, transformation is not optional but inevitable. The question we must ask ourselves is not whether we are perfect, but whether there is any evidence of growth, any movement toward Christ, any increasing love for His family.
Jack Stileman - What does real Christianity look like? In 1 Thessalonians 1, Paul holds up a mirror to a young church under pressure and shows us: real roots, real power, real joy.
Luke 24:13 - 35 = God is always present and at work around us. He is waiting for us to invite Him into our struggles. God requires that we focus on His word and obey what He says. Real Christianity shares with others what it has seen and experienced. It is my prayer that we see God at work around us this week.
In an age where artificial intelligence can mimic voices and create convincing forgeries, we face a profound spiritual question: how do we know our faith in Christ is real? This exploration of 1 John invites us into a journey of assurance, grounding our relationship with Jesus in historical reality and present fellowship. The letter opens with the powerful testimony of eyewitnesses who heard, saw, studied, and touched the incarnate Word of life. Jesus was not a myth or ethereal spirit but fully God who became fully human, walking among us in flesh and blood. This historical reality matters deeply because it means we can have a genuine, personal relationship with the living Christ right now. The purpose of this proclamation is fellowship—not mere association or knowing facts about God, but a deeply shared life with the Father and the Son. This fellowship brings complete joy and transforms how we live. Walking in the light means our sin is exposed, but instead of condemnation, we find continuous cleansing through Christ's blood. Real Christians do not claim sinlessness but practice ongoing confession, turning from darkness and running home to God. We have an advocate, Jesus the righteous, whose atoning sacrifice is sufficient for the whole world. The assurance we seek is not found in our perfection but in His finished work and faithful presence.
The last lines of Colossians look like a throwaway list of names until you realize Paul is doing something intentional: he's putting faces to the gospel. We walk through Colossians 4:7–18 like end credits, showing how Christian doctrine becomes a lived, shared reality through people who serve, encourage, pray, forgive, and keep going when it costs them.We talk about Onesimus, a runaway slave who meets Jesus and then walks straight back into the hardest conversation of his life as a “beloved brother.” We trace Mark's arc from quitting and causing a painful split to being welcomed again as “useful,” a concrete picture of forgiveness without an asterisk. We don't skip the quiet hero, Nympha, who hosts a church in her home, reminding us that faithfulness in ordinary work is still worship. The tone sharpens with Demas, who starts near Paul and later deserts him “in love with this present world.” That warning leads into Epaphras' prayer for spiritual maturity and full assurance in the will of God, plus a clear, grounding answer to the question “What is the chief end of man?” To glorify God and enjoy Him forever, learning to delight in Him instead of using Him. When we truly grasp the depth of God's love, it changes us. As we abide in that love, fear begins to fade and a new kind of life emerges—one marked by confidence before God and genuine love for others. Real Christianity isn't about earning love, but living securely in the love already given through Christ. If God's perfect love has reached you, how is it transforming the way you live and love today?

In this episode of The Leader's Notebook (Ep. 297), I take us to Ephesians 4 and 5 to confront the gap between theoretical Christianity and real life in the Spirit. Too many believers are content to talk about faith without ever stepping into the canoe. Paul reminds us that being filled with the Holy Spirit is not an abstract idea—it shows up in how we speak, forgive, submit, give, and love one another. Spirit-filled living is intensely practical. This message calls us beyond gifts, experiences, and religious language into holiness expressed in community. Walking in love means allowing the Holy Spirit to probe our lives, heal our relationships, and shape the way we live with family, church, and the people God places around us. Today, Paul M. Neuberger comes for the version of Christianity that's all talk, no walk. The facade. The pose. The outward show with a hollow soul. It's time to face the cost: living for the world's approval or Christ's command. We dive deep into the uncomfortable gap between Sunday worship and Monday obedience—where image outpaces integrity and where cheap grace tries to replace costly discipleship. The world may settle for branding; we answer to a higher calling.Jesus didn't die for religious actors—He died to make us new. The challenge? Will you repent, realign, and let your faith get rugged, real, and relentless?Buckle up. This one's raw, real, and rooted in truth.“Woe to you, teachers of the law and Pharisees, you hypocrites! You are like whitewashed tombs, which look beautiful on the outside but on the inside are full of the bones of the dead and everything unclean. 28 In the same way, on the outside you appear to people as righteous but on the inside you are full of hypocrisy and wickedness." –Matthew 23:27-28Episode Highlights:09:33 – Over time, the church can unintentionally become a safe place to hide instead of a holy place to be healed. One of the primary engines of hypocrisy is cheap grace, the idea that forgiveness cancels the call to transformation. Grace becomes a spiritual anesthetic instead of a surgical tool. We numb conviction instead of letting it cut. But Scripture is clear. Grace saves us and grace trains us... If grace never teaches you to say no, it's not biblical grace. It's self-deception wearing religious language.36:14 – The antidote to hypocrisy is not louder words or stronger branding. It's costly obedience. Real Christianity has always been less about what we say and more about how we live. When no one's watching, walking the walk means choosing obedience even when it hurts, costs, or isolates. It means aligning behavior with belief, not just on Sunday, but in the hidden places where integrity is formed. Jesus never invited people to admire him from a distance; he invited them to follow.41:42 — Hypocrisy drains spiritual authority. When the church mirrors the world in greed, sexual immorality, pride and division, it has nothing prophetic to say. Jesus called his followers the light of the world and the salt of the earth. Hypocrisy dims the light and contaminates the salt. Fourth, what's at stake is leadership, integrity. Hypocrisy doesn't stay hidden forever. Connect with Paul M. NeubergerWebsite
