WAYLAND, the four piece, West Michigan, heartland rock and roll band, released “How Long” today via Fearlyss Entertainment. Recorded in Burbank, Calif., the song is co-written with Brandon “Bsamz” Sammons (Bad Wolves, Lady Gaga) and produced by Grammy award nominated artist and industry veteran Keith Nelson (Buckcherry, Blackberry Smoke, Alice Cooper, Ricky Warwick) at MDDN Studios (Good Charlotte.) The track is co-engineered and mixed by Jun Murakawa (Tool, Slipknot, Chris Cornell, Chevelle) and mastered by Dave Collins (Alice In Chains, The Avett Brothers, Metallica.) “How Long” is from the forthcoming EP “On The Way”. “‘How Long' is the question I think the whole world is asking,” lead guitarist Phillip Vilkenski said. “How long until we find a new normal? And how long until we have the freedom to be back on track to fulfilling our whole purpose for being here?” Award-winning videographer Harold Sellers shot the “How Long” official music video in Joshua Tree, Calif. The music video features the Heart Global dancers. Heart Global is a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization that leads music and performance workshops all over the world, which exists to create global connections while nurturing future generations through music. Stream the “How Long” video here. Vilenski and Mitch Arnold (lead singer) first met and started writing songs in the performance group together when they traveled the world teaching. Their understanding that music is medicine has been their dharma ever since. “Phill and I found ourselves alone in our desert studio reflecting back on our journey during the pandemic, and it felt like we were going back to the beginning,” Arnold said. “Every time we had tried to go back to the beginning before, we never went all the way back to Heart Global and the principles they instilled in us that are truly the beginning of our bond and band.” WAYLAND is a six-time charting rock band hailing from a town of the same name in Michigan. In 2010 WAYLAND's “Welcome To My Head” hit #32 on the active rock charts followed by “Reno” which reached #54. Next came “Get A Little,” which debuted at number six on the iTunes rock charts while simultaneously hitting #49 on media base active rock charts with a viral music video to match. “Bloody Sunrise” reached #30 and was followed by “Through The Fire” which reached #29 on the Billboard Music Charts. “Ghost,” co-written by Brent Smith and Zach Meyers (Shinedown) reached #28 on BDS active rock. After coming off the road for the first time in almost a decade, Wayland signed with new management, Fearlyss Entertainment to write and record, “On The Way”. Wayland is Arnold (lead vocals, rhythm guitar), Vilenski (lead guitar, vocals), Joey Clement (bass, vocals) and Hoss Wright (drums).

WAYLAND is a four piece, blue-collar American band from Wayland, Michigan who began selling out venues all across the midwest in 2010 before relentlessly traveling the United States over 300 days per year for the past five years. Committed to their roots and their songwriting, you cannot pigeonhole their sound into a genre, as every verse is penned from their heart telling tales of their stage to stage gypsy lifestyle. Comprised of Mitch Arnold on vocals, Phillip Vilenski on lead guitar, Dean Pizzazz on bass, and Nigel Dupree on drums, WAYLAND is a modern take on their vintage influences.
