Swedish metalcore powerhouse Adept rise again, ushering in a fierce new era with their long-awaited fifth studio album, Blood Covenant, out October 24, 2025, via Napalm Records. Marking a bold new era after nearly a decade of silence, Blood Covenant captures the band at their most intense, dynamic, and emotionally resonant to date across eleven tightly crafted tracks. It's so exciting to have Adept back, and not only does ‘Blood Covenant' live up to the iconic metalcore band's status, but it pushes forward, offering fresh ideas and showcasing undeniable creative spirit. Is it the best Adept album to date? That's a tough call, but it's certainly impressive that it's even in the conversation. We're not the only ones excited about Adept's return either, as vocalist Robert Ljung spoke to us and shared a ton of detail about their journey to this point. We also dug into the guts of the album's creative period, seeing fans embrace the return of Adept with gusto, bringing the new songs to the live stage, and so much more. Belgian psychedelic post-metal masters Psychonaut return with their triumphant new album World Maker, released 24th October via Pelagic Records. This record takes the form of life lessons for guitarist/vocalist Stefan De Graef son, who at the time of album writing, learned he was to be a father. There's very little as life changing as that, and although misery would follow not long after the birth of De Graef's son as the devastating news that both his own father and Psychonaut bassist/vocalist Thomas Michiels' father had been diagnosed with advanced cancers, the record is still focused on the positive experience of becoming a dad. It doesn't matter if you can relate or not, you'll be able to understand the feeling in this record, regardless. Psychonaut may never make an album quite like this again, that is how unique an effort it is, but long-term fans won't be turned off by it either as so much of what makes them who they are is present. It's the most contemporary the band has sounded, and with that, comes something truly unforgettable. Read the full album review here: https://www.gbhbl.com/album-review-psychonaut-world-maker-pelagic-records/ We spoke to vocalist/guitarist Stefan De Graef about ‘World Maker' and its unique place in the Psychonaut catalogue. We talk about the vision, how life dictated the album direction, the profound joy that permeates so much of the record, moving forward following immense personal change, and so much more. When somebody divulges a secret, you don't just hear it; you carry it with you. Making you privy to intimate thoughts and feelings, this exchange represents the highest level of trust. Greyhaven tap into the sound of truths unleashed - messy in its disjointed and extreme edges, magnetic in its entrancing and enigmatic melodies, and massive in its emotional outpour. The Louisville, KY band - Brent Mills [vocals], Nick Spencer [guitar], Johnny Muench [bass], and Ethan Spray [drums] - sonically and personally lay everything on the table with their third full-length album, Keep It Quiet. Out now via Solid State Records, the open and honest album is the topic of conversation in this interview with vocalist Brent Mills. We really dig into the album, but also have some fun talking about tour life, the satisfaction that comes from connecting with people, and so much more. Vocalist, songwriter and Grammy Award-winning artist Mike Farris is on the show today. Mike has this incredible new record out called “The Sound Of Muscle Shoals” that he recorded at the legendary Fame Studios with Rodney Hall (the son of Fame founder Rick Hall - the guy who is largely responsible for creating the Muscle Shoals sound that we all know and love). Mike has had an incredible career, from his early days in the insanely wild and high energy band The Screamin' Cheetah Wheelies, Mike honed his skills as an incredible frontman and vocalist, but as we talk about today, he feels like he never really learned to sing until he started making solo records in 2001. Since that time, Mike has continued to evolve as an incredible singer whose voice and delivery pull from soul, gospel, country and rock n roll - and all of them very convincingly, as only someone who has truly lived the life can. His 2014 album “Shine For All The People” won a Grammy award, and Mike has been consistently recording and touring the world for decades. I wanted to hear from Mike about his songwriting, how he captures his voice in the studio, how his travels (which include some incredibly rocky patches) have brought him to where he is today, and how he feels like a bit of a misfit in a world where people love to peg musicians under a certain style. We also get into the nuts and bolts of making his new album, and the legacy that he feels working in such a sacred space with incredible musicians.Mike has quite a few albums out under his own name and the Screamin' Cheetah Wheelies albums are also well worth hearing. But do check out the new record “The Sound Of Muscle Shoals” - it's an incredible listen. You can catch Mike on tour and get all the latest info at mikefarrismusic.comEnjoy my conversation with Mike Farris! This season is brought to you by our main sponsors Larivée Guitars, Audeze, Izotope, FabFilter, and Chase Bliss. Adrian Quesada is probably best known as one of the two co-founders of the psychedelic soul band Black Pumas, but the guitarist and producer has also been part of Grupo Fantasma, Brownout and Ocote Soul Sounds. Lately, he's also been pursuing another musical project called Boleros Psicodélicos, an homage to the phenomenon of balada music that blossomed throughout Latin America between the late ‘60s and early ‘70s. Balada is “a refined collision of bossa nova smoothness, Beatlesque psychedelia and torrid boleropathos” which “used art-pop instrumentation (mostly strings and harpsichords)”, and “employed songs about heartbreak and longing as a means to transport the listener to an opulent, cinematic fantasy world”, (Bandcamp). Quesada has recently released the second volume of these modern takes on vintage Latin pop sounds, all featuring some of the leading voices in modern Latin alternative music. Quesada, his band, and guest artists -L.A. singer and producer Angélica Garcia, Grammy-winning Puerto Rican singer-songwriter iLe (Ileana Cabra), and violinist and vocalist Mireya Ramos (of the all-female Mariachi band Flor de Toloache) – all perform in-studio. Set list: 1. Tus Tormentas with Mireya Ramos 2. No Juego with Angelica Garcia 3. Mentiras con Cariño with iLe
We're celebrating our 10th anniversary all year by digging in the vaults to re-present classic episodes with fresh commentary. Today, we're revisiting our 2017 conversation with Vince Gill. ABOUT VINCE GILLMulti-instrumentalist, singer, and songwriter Vince Gill launched his solo career in the mid-1980s, hitting the Top 10 on Billboard's country singles chart a remarkable 25 times. All but one of those hits was written or co-written by Gill, and a dozen of his compositions have been nominated for either CMA Song of the Year, ACM Song of the Year, or the Best Country Song Grammy. These include “When I Call Your Name,” “Look At Us,” “Pocket Full of Gold,” “When Love Finds You,” “High Lonesome Sound,” “If You Have Forever in Mind,” “Feels Like Love,” and “Threaten Me With Heaven.” “Go Rest High on That Mountain” won both the CMA Song of the Year and the Best Country Song Grammy, while “I Still Believe in You” won the Best Country Song Grammy, as well as both the CMA and the ACM's Song of the Year awards. Though he's won four in total, Vince is the only songwriter to ever win three consecutive Song of the Year awards from the CMA. He has won more Grammy awards, with over 20 trophies, than any male country performer in history. These include two Best Country Song wins, as well as a 2017 win for Best American Roots Song for “Kid Sister,” which was recorded by Gill's band, The Time Jumpers. He has won eight ACM awards and 18 CMA awards, including Vocalist of the Year five years in a row and Entertainer of the Year two years in a row. Other highlights from his long list of hit singles include the #1 hits “Don't Let Our Love Start Slippin' Away,” “One More Last Chance,” and “Tryin' to Get Over You.” In addition to writing his own material, Vince's songs have been recorded by Loretta Lynn, Bob Seger, John Denver, Mary Chapin Carpenter, John Prine, Willie Nelson, Michael McDonald, LeAnn Rimes, and Alabama, who topped the country charts with his “Here We Are.” Vince was inducted into the Nashville Songwriters Hall of Fame in 2005, and the Country Music Hall of Fame in 2007. In 2014, he was named a BMI Icon, one of only twelve country writers ever honored with the prestigious award.
