Celebrity Vocal Coach Eric Vetro - "BACKSTAGE PASS" Podcast

I Am Refocused Podcast Show

"BACKSTAGE PASS" IS A NEW PODCAST HOSTED BY CELEBRITY VOCAL COACH ERIC VETRO, FEATURING CONVERSATIONS WITH ARIANA GRANDE, JOHN LEGEND, SHAWN MENDES, AND MOREBackstage Pass with Eric Vetro launches October 20, 2021There's one special thing the most famous singers in the world have in common: his name is Eric Vetro. From Ariana Grande to Shawn Mendes to John Legend, vocal coach Eric Vetro has been by the sides of your favorite singers for some of the most iconic moments in their careers. On "Backstage Pass," Vetro's celebrity students retrace their vocal journeys, from the very first song they ever sang and their favorite vocal exercises through the challenges they faced building their careers.Eric Vetro is one of the country's most in-demand vocal coaches for a reason. For over 35 years, Vetro has worked in Hollywood with students that include A-list actors, Broadway singers, and global pop stars. They meet with him regularly to prepare for Broadway productions, movie musical roles, world tours and nationally televised awards shows. Even for the naturally gifted, professional singers prepare with the extreme discipline of runners getting ready for a marathon. Vetro sees students seven days a week, sometimes waking up in the middle of the night to warm up singers on tour many time zones away or teaching in unusual locations such as the backs of SUVs, alley ways, and even bathrooms before shows. Amid grueling tour schedules and high-pressure performances, he is there for these singers every step of the way. Bubbly, magnetic, and beloved by his students, he has the kind of personality that led Ariana Grande to tweet, "Eric Vetro is my favorite person ever."Originally from a small city in upstate New York, Eric Vetro started an amateur vocal teaching practice, teaching his classmates how to sing "The Star-Spangled Banner." He went on to study voice and piano at NYU, finding a mentor in Lloyd Walser, a chorus master at the New York City Opera. Inspired by his targeted approach, Vetro does not try to make everyone sound the same, but rather emphasizes what makes a student sound special. He moved to LA in 1984 and has been growing his student list ever since."Backstage Pass" will include interviews with many of Vetro's vocal students, including Ariana Grande, Shawn Mendes, Chloe Bailey, Rosalia, Camila Cabello, Vanessa Hudgens, Stephanie Beatriz, and John Legend. These intimate conversations will reveal the secrets behind how these performers hit those high notes (spoiler: one is a technique called "Silent Ferocious Lion's Yawn") and will emphasize why Eric has become the coach, therapist and friend to the most well-known singers in the music business.Eric Vetro is the celebrity vocal coach to stars such as Ariana Grande, Shawn Mendes, John Legend, Camila Cabello, Katy Perry, Rita Ora, Chloe x Halle, Juanes, and Rosalia as well as the lead singers from bands like Haim, Weezer, Incubus and Muse. He has trained A-list actors for the movie musicals La La Land, Chicago, Judy, Mary Poppins Returns, Hairspray, Beauty and the Beast, Eurovision, In The Heights and Cinderella as well as the new releases Dear Evan Hansen, Tick Tick.Boom!, and Disney's Encanto. He has worked with many Disney stars who went on to have singing careers such as Vanessa Hudgens, Sabrina Carpenter, Ashley Tisdale, Olivia Holt, Laura Marano, and Dove Cameron. He has also worked with many Broadway actors including Tony-award winners Hugh Jackman and Bette Midler.Backstage Pass with Eric Vetro - first 4 episodesEpisode 1: Ariana GrandeAiring: 10/20Eric talks with Ariana Grande about her vocal range, how Broadway influences her music, touring, and the struggles of perfect pitch and how it can be both a blessing and a curse. We also get to learn more about Eric and how being a vocal coach is all about listening and thinking on his feet.Episode 2: Shawn MendesAiring: 10/27When we think of world-famous singers, we would never expect them to have anxiety about performing their songs for live audiences. But that's not always the case. In this episode, Eric talks with Shawn Mendes about how he has worked hard to get comfortable trusting the process and trusting his voice.Episode 3: Chloe BaileyAiring: 11/3Chloe Bailey is probably most famously known as one half of sister group Chloe x Halle, but through her acting, choreography, and solo music career she's got the entertainment market covered. In this interview, Eric talks with Chloe about her musical inspirations, how and why she learned to produce her own music, and how her family jokes that - as the world's biggest Beyoncé fan - she manifested she and her sister being one of the first artists signed to Beyoncé's production company.Episode 4: RosaliaAiring: 11/10Eric talks with Rosalia about her work ethic and how her perfectionism and persistence makes her career. They also talk about flamenco, Rosalia's vibrato, and how the 2019 Latin Grammys were the only time she can think of when she wasn't in the right headspace to perform; her grandfather had passed just the day before.http://podcasts.pushkin.fm/backstage-pass-eric-vetro?c=-GIhsWJy6a841zFLbwxFlQ&h=33a1ec6f9ecc4e506

I talk with my LONG TIME homie Jesse Simmers. He was the FIRST vocalist for the band PLUTOCRACY and goes over the very early history of the band and its creation. A few memories about our BROTHER Kindred McCune AKA Stinkweed. He also speaks about his daughter Caitlyn, who is a PRODIGY professional surfer at the age of 15. This was A LOT of fun to do. I love being able to talk with BROTHER'S like Jesse and go over memories from the past. This is the type of call I never wanted to end. But my current software I am using (ZOOM) only allows me 40 minute sessions at a time. (If anyone knows of a better software to use for these type of podcasts please let me know.) Enjoy this episode. There are MANY more to come. I can't wait. Go check out KurleeDaddee.com for more video's.

Sadly and unexpectedly, Sarah passed away on Monday, September 20th, 2021 Richard is honoring Sarah's request and as planned, Richard will be joined by some of Sarah's nearest and dearest friends to celebrate a Life well lived! Sarah Dash, the singer and co-founder of the all-female singing group Labelle, best known for their 1974 hit "Lady Marmalade," died Monday at the age of 76. I have decided to honor Sarah's wish and go on and celebrate her as she should be celebrated. As an award-winning vocalist, songwriter, motivational speaker, educator, entrepreneur, and humanitarian, Sarah is a unique force whose voice has touched millions of listeners around the world. From co-founding Patti LaBelle & the Bluebelles and making history as a member of Labelle to becoming the very first Music Ambassador (2017) of Trenton, New Jersey, Sarah has blazed a trail in every facet of her remarkable career. Music has been a constant source of inspiration in Sarah's life ever since her childhood in Trenton. The seventh of thirteen children born to Elder Abraham Dash and Mother Elizabeth Dash, Sarah sang in the Trenton Church of Christ Choir as a young girl and entertained her classmates with renditions of standards like "With These Hands." The radio dial introduced her to everything from R&B and rock 'n' roll to country and polka, with the voices of Tina Turner, Gladys Knight, and Smokey Robinson shaping some of Sarah's earliest influences alongside albums by Mahalia Jackson, Nat "King" Cole, Andy Williams, and her brother's jazz collection.

In 2013 the band that would later become ASMR (Autonomous Sensory Meridian Response) was born. However this band was named Super NintenBros. Vocalist and Guitar player Sidney Pierce, And Vocalist and Guitar player Steven Berroteran, had a vision of making awesome music which blended metal with many other genres, but doing it in a way that was still accessible to the largest number of people possible. “Metal is slept on” -Sidney Pierce After playing many local shows however, The journey was unfortunately cut short. Steven moved further away, had a kid, and was very busy in with his masters program, and Sidney had decided to pursue a career in the restaurant industry working very long managerial hours. So after 2 years the group slowly fizzled out. Sidney stopped playing guitar basically entirely for roughly three years after that. Steve on the other hand went on to play in an actual metal band Decipher The Fallen about a year later. Then one day Sid had, had enough of the mundane and picked up his guitar. Shocked by the high quality of what he produced he decided to reach out to Steve. “Bro listen to this tite s***” And Steve agreed, it was tite. They both admitted that they missed the old group. Not just the fun of playing with each other, but also the SOUND. So they decided to give it one more shot. They immediately started writing songs and booking shows as quickly as possible and even began to gain some momentum, winning the battle of the bands at Sac State in 2017, and opening for We The Kings. The momentum, however, wasn't enough. Still not seeing the results they had hoped for with their music they decided, hopefully, to try shifting their focus from playing shows, to marketing and making internet content. So in addition to playing shows they invested money into adds, they worked with agencies to help grow their social media, they started a YouTube Channel, they released singles, they released lyric videos, they gave away shirts, they gave away sunglasses with their logo, they gave away stickers, but unfortunately nothing seemed to work… So one last strategy was still worth trying…. “Let's just make an album so good that people can't ignore us” -Sidney So Sidney got a new laptop. Sidney got new speakers. Sidney got a music interface. Sidney bought a soundproof sheet to make a makeshift studio is his bedroom. Sidney got Logic Pro X. Sidney got a ton of plug ins. Then Sidney taught himself how to use it all and proceeded to record the album that changed everything. Having no formal training, once Sidney had reached the limits of he could do Sid and Steve outsourced the rest of the project (mixing/mastering) to Arthur Indrikov. A producer in London England who was ecstatic to finally work with real instruments again lol During this portion of the process however something happened they caught both Sid and Steve off guard… What they got back from Arthur sounded GOOD. They had anticipated something great, but what they got back, to them, sounded BETTER. they knew they were on the right track, but something still felt off… and it was the brand. Super NintenBros was a fun band. It was a party band. It was a group of people that you wanted to get trashed with. But it was not to be taken seriously. But Sid and Steve knew that this album, WAS to be taken seriously. Their goal was to make music so good that it gave people goose bumps/chills so they thought it fitting to have a name and brand that reflected that. ASMR was born. It was no longer enough to just make good music. The goal became to change the entire music game. Blending as many genres as possible, in the most accessible way, to bring together people from different backgrounds and give the current radio culture a run for its money by progressing the standard of music as a whole. That's also how the name of the album Alternative Progress came to be. Now, after feeling as though they achieved their goal of creating something so spectacular it would have to grab people's attention. They are poised for lift off looking for the proper channels to help take them to the public.

Welcome to Roadcase, a podcast exploring the live music experience!! Hop on the Roadcase bus for this special episode with Jessica Dobson of Deep Sea Diver.  Jessica is an experienced touring musician / guitarist who has toured with some really huge acts including Beck and The Shins. She is an open and self-aware human with a real willingness to put herself out there, explore her boundaries, and speak frankly and positively about her life, her shortcomings, and the challenges presented to her on a variety of personal and professional levels. Deep Sea Diver's most recent album, Impossible Weight, came out in October 2020 and is a sonically beautiful statement that is both poignant and insightful. Jessica has tons of real road experience and her love for the live music form and her fans is palpable.  Come on along for this great conversation with Jessica Dobson --  it's a really great ride!!  For more information: https://linktr.ee/roadcasepod and https://www.roadcasepod.comContact: info@roadcasepod.comTheme music:  "Eugene" (Instrumental)" by Waltzer

The guest for this episode is Detroit-based composer, pianist, and vocalist Vanessa Cuccia to talk about her debut album This is a Spell. I came across Vanessa's music earlier this year when a mutual friend shared her single “Ode to Body” on Instagram. I really liked the song, but when I heard the full album and learned more about her, I definitely wanted to meet her and have her on the podcast. This is actually Vanessa's first podcast interview about her music has she has already made successful waves in the world with her company Chakrubs, her natural crystal sex toy company (which has been featured on Conan, Playboy TV, Nylon, Teen Vogue, among other publications). Cuccia also runs Freque Magazine, described as “combining FREQUEncies of art, music, and culture through a lens of spirituality”. Between her music and the interviews I watched beforehand, I very much related to her experiences that would go into the creation of Chakrubs and into the heart of her music. During our conversation, we talked about her musical beginnings, how all of her projects lend in service of each other, the making of This is a Spell along with a track-by-track breakdown, and so much more. This is a Spell is one of my favorite albums of 2021 and Vanessa Cuccia is a wealth of positive energy and spirit.
