In this Aspire Mailbag episode, Joshua Stamper and Jeff Gargas respond to listener questions about supporting an aspiring leader through a campus transition and helping teachers shift away from punitive discipline. They explore how new leadership can create both uncertainty and opportunity, and what aspiring leaders can do to build trust, stay visible, and align themselves with a new principal's vision without losing momentum in their own leadership journey. The conversation also digs into one of the biggest challenges in education today: helping teachers move from punishment-based discipline to relationship-based support. Joshua and Jeff discuss why this shift takes time, why common language matters, and how schools can make restorative approaches feel practical instead of overwhelming. They also talk about the importance of small, intentional steps, teacher buy-in, and creating systems that support student growth without making behavior management feel like an unfair sacrifice of teacher time. The second part of the monthly new release series is generally dominated by the latest records Malibu Lou has put out on his legendary Rum Bar Records label. This month is no different, and it’s a perfect kick off to over two hours of great new tunes. The Hollywood Stars, The Amplifier Heads, Stop Calling Me Frank, Gene Champagne and Girl With a Hawk are this month’s Rum Bar representatives, and they’re all fabulous. There’s also a sampler of tunes from the lastest Dam-Nations compilation series. The rest of the show is a battle of sorts between veterans and noobs. On the veterans side, there’s great new music from the likes of Guided By Voices, Social Distortion, Dwarves, Die Toten Hosen (their final album!), Nashville Pussy, and the Real McKenziess. On the “noob” side, there are acts sucks as Irked, Taxi Girls, Cable TV, Hoaxxers, and so many more that once again proves there will always be great new rock and roll bands! What’s your favorite new album? For more info, including setlists, head to http://scotthudson.blogspot.com

What if communion was never meant to be a lifeless ritual, but a living encounter with the Person of Love Himself? In this episode, Dr. Catherine Toon invites you back into the early church’s lost revelation of communion as intimacy, union, and shared life with Christ and one another. As Catherine shares vulnerably from her own journey out of religious burnout, she unpacks how religion has toxified powerful spiritual practices, like communion, and how Jesus gently restores them as gifts to nourish your body, soul, and spirit. You’ll discover that communion is not about performing for God or “qualifying” yourself, but about receiving the finished work of Christ and remembering that you are already included in the circle of Love. In this episode, you’ll learn: - How the early church practiced communion as a joyful “love feast,” not a cold, symbolic exercise - Why communion is meant to be a living encounter with Christ’s presence, not a fear-based check-box - How to move from complacency and religious trauma into real intimacy and union with God - Why communion proclaims Jesus’ finished work over your shame, unworthiness, and exhaustion - How to begin reclaiming communion in your everyday life—slow, tender, and deeply personal with Jesus Whether you’ve been hurt by religion, feel disconnected from church, or simply hunger for a deeper experience of God’s love, this conversation will help you rediscover communion as a doorway into the heart of the Trinity. You’re not on the outside trying to get in—you’re already welcomed to the table. In this episode of The Book Faire Podcast, host Anthony breaks down the high-stakes legal battles shaping school libraries across the country. We dive deep into the recent crisis in Tennessee, where Knox County Schools banned Alex Haley's masterpiece Roots under the state's 2022 Age-Appropriate Materials Act—and how community pushback successfully stopped this attempt to whitewash American history, restoring the book to shelves for now.We also analyze the ongoing fallout from Utah's sensitive materials law, as the state officially marks its 35th book banned from all public schools. Finally, we look at new research analyzing book censorship and the evolving, heavily pressured role of school librarians in defending intellectual freedom. Teachers, librarians, and parents will find this episode essential for understanding how state laws are being weaponized to restrict diverse stories and what advocates can do to protect the freedom to read in the elementary and middle school classroom.New Releases:Current Gone! What happens when the very systems meant to support education begin driving great teachers out of the profession? In this episode of Aspire to Lead, Joshua Stamper sits down with Brad Gaynor to talk about the growing teacher retention crisis, the hidden emotional and psychological cost of teaching, and why so many good educators are leaving the profession. Brad shares insights from his leadership journey and his own experience with burnout, offering a powerful look at the pressures shaping schools today. Together, they explore how workload, leadership pressure, parent expectations, and behavior challenges are affecting teachers and school leaders across education. Brad also discusses why resilience alone is not the answer and what leaders, teachers, and systems can do to rebuild trust, strengthen culture, and create more sustainable schools for the future. About Brad Gaynor Brad Gaynor is an Australian education leader, executive coach, speaker, and author with more than 35 years of leadership experience across schools and system leadership. Brad is the author of From Burnout to Breakthrough: The Leadership Reset and Not One More Teacher Lost. His work focuses on sustainable leadership, burnout prevention and recovery, leadership under pressure, organisational culture, and helping leaders thrive in complex environments without sacrificing their wellbeing. Grounded in both lived experience and evidence-informed practice, Brad speaks and writes with honesty about the hidden emotional load of leadership, while offering practical and sustainable approaches for leading well over time. By the power of Grayskull, the listeners have spoken! For our June new release review, the members of CinemaShock+ have chosen MASTERS OF THE UNIVERSE, the major live-action revival of He-Man and the forces of Eternia. Starring Nicholas Galitzine, Camila Mendes, Alison Brie, Idris Elba, and Jared Leto, the film represents Mattel's most significant theatrical push since BARBIE took over the world three years ago. We'll be taking a trek through the hyper-stylized world built by director Travis Knight, evaluating how it handles decades of lore, and discussing our childhood nostalgia for Eternia stands up against modern studio tropes. We discuss the balancing act between serving genuine 80s nostalgia and appealing to an entirely new audience, breaking down whether this block of corporate intellectual property holds any genuine artistic merit. As a reminder, members of CinemaShock+ have the voting power to choose what New Release we review each month, so if you want to help decide what July's bonus episode will be, head to cinemashock.net/plus to become a member today! I have long described the contents of the first episode of my monthly new release series as “friends of the show” Well, that is more true than usual this month. Yes, there are the usual suspects (Numb Surprise, Phil Cook & the Fall Dogs, etc.) but there is also the debut single from an upcoming album by my hometown friends Off Contact. “Heart and Mind” is the first look at Can You?, their third album, and you can expect to hear more off that album as the summer progresses. Besides those tracks, there is a set devoted to a cool concept record called Pets Sounds, an album of songs about…well, pets! There’s a sneak peak at an upcoming Jesse Malin tribute record, and tunes from two of my favorite new releases of the past month – Memo PST and The Lemon Twigs. Plus, lots of other power pop, garage rock, and some good ol’ rock and roll! What’s your favorite track from this week’s episode? For more info, including setlists, head to http://scotthudson.blogspot.com

Mindy Kaling's long-awaited new comedy has finally landed on Disney+, and if you grew up on Sex and the City, Girls and Broad City, it's your next obsession — five hot friends, glossy Manhattan apartments and that razor-sharp humour.Over on Paramount+, a new Aussie dramedy starring Phoebe Tonkin has a ticking-clock premise you'll devour in one sitting. And at the cinema, a gloriously un-PC horror reboot brings Anna Faris and Regina Hall roaring back, every bit as chaotic as the original. Plus the action film everyone wrote off from the trailer — until Nicholas Galitzine, Jared Leto and a scene-stealing Camila Mendes turned it into the most fun you'll have at the movies right now.Remember The Spill drops the tea twice a day in this feed so follow us for all the latest entertainment news… OR you can WATCH our show in full length video on the Apple Podcast app - make sure your phone is up to date and enjoy the watch! Sometimes, the truth is weirder and stranger than anything we could make up -- and that's something a worldbuilder can use to their benefit! Guest Gabriella Buba joins us to talk about building real science into our magical worlds -- and the implications that can, in turn, have about a society's relationship with information, education, and the power structures that both derive from and control them. When blending science and magic together, writers can play with a lot of different factors and considerations. Is magic in a given world really about the movement of electrons or the interaction of chemicals, or is it a truly unexplainable force? What do your characters think about the scientific realities of their world? How do they test theories, and do they have a magical R&D department? And what might be the difference between how much the writer needs to know, how much the characters need to know, and how much the reader needs to know? Finding the balance can be tricky, and won't be the same for every project, but getting it right can add invaluable texture to your world. [Transcript for Episode 182] Our Guest: Gabriella Buba is a mixed Filipina-Czech author-illustrator and chemical engineer based in Texas who likes to keep explosive pyrophoric materials safely contained in pressure vessels or between the covers of her books. Randy Lyman is a physicist, entrepreneur, and expert in emotional intelligence and service-based leadership. He built the American Dream from humble beginnings, eventually founding multiple 8-figure businesses, including an Inc. 500 company. He discovered that lasting success requires embracing the emotional aspect of being human. Randy's entrepreneurial journey spans four decades, earning multiple patents and growing his businesses 30x after integrating spiritual principles. He now shares these principles through his book, The Third Element, which offers useful tools and techniques for emotional healing and personal growth. The pivotal moment for Randy came after achieving material success but realizing he was not able to enjoy that success due to being disconnected from his own emotions. This led him to focus on emotional awareness, which changed his approach to leadership and spurred business growth far beyond where planning and hard work alone could have taken him. For Randy, the keys to high performance are authenticity, personal connection, and leading from a combination of strength & vulnerability. The Third Element (#1 New Release in Personal Growth) reveals how unhealed emotional patterns shape our reality and how we can transform them to achieve abundance. Today, Randy shares his principles to help individuals and organizations achieve clarity, connection, and authentic transformation by harnessing emotional intelligence and turning inner healing into outward success. Beyond his professional life, Randy is a craftsman who builds custom motorcycle engines and restores classic cars. His mission is to inspire others to heal, lead, and unlock their full potential by embracing "The Third Element" and their emotional truth. Śāstra Maṇḍala is an organization we started specifically to make a pipeline for those who want the Gosvāmī literatures, and we've been advertising for this over the last year or so. We have over 1,000 members. This helps us to predict how many volumes we're going to need to print, because when you print a set with five books, it's a big investment. So, we want to be very clear about that. In fact, just in earnest, now, today we're starting to recruit those who want to join Śāstra Maṇḍala. If you're in Śāstra Maṇḍala—before we have our annual general meeting coming up in a few weeks—that's when we're going to decide how many to print. That's why he (Mayank Prabhu) is saying it's really important to get in now. Sign up, get in, and then you're in that pipeline. So, those who want it should be in the Śāstra Maṇḍala. Those who want it, and they're not in it, may or may not get one. And that goes for all the other books that are coming out. We have Jaiva-dharma ready to come out; there's several other books. We have a long list, and this is an ongoing project from the BBT to bring these out in a pristine condition. (HG Vaisesika Dasa ) Register here now: https://www.sastramandala.com/ Limited features like exclusive classes with senior devotees and discussions on these shastras will be held, so all the registered members would get those links, and most importantly, you will also get a link when the pre-order is ready, so you will get an email with the link of how to pre-order your set. ------------------------------------------------------------ To connect with His Grace Vaiśeṣika Dāsa, please visit https://www.fanthespark.com/next-steps/ask-vaisesika-dasa/?utm_source=youtube&utm_medium=video&utm_campaign=launch2025 https://vaisesikadasayatra.blogspot.com/ ------------------------------------------------------------ Add to your wisdom literature collection: https://iskconsv.com/book-store/?utm_source=youtube&utm_medium=video&utm_campaign=launch2025 https://www.bbtacademic.com/books/?utm_source=youtube&utm_medium=video&utm_campaign=launch2025 https://thefourquestionsbook.com/?utm_source=youtube&utm_medium=video&utm_campaign=launch2025 ------------------------------------------------------------ Join us live on Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/FanTheSpark/ Podcasts: https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/sound-bhakti/id1132423868 For the latest videos, subscribe https://www.youtube.com/@FanTheSpark For the latest in SoundCloud: https://soundcloud.com/fan-the-spark ------------------------------------------------------------ #spiritualawakening #soul #spiritualexperience #spiritualpurposeoflife #spiritualgrowthlessons #secretsofspirituality #vaisesikaprabhu #vaisesikadasa #vaisesikaprabhulectures #spirituality #bhaktiyoga #krishna #spiritualpurposeoflife #krishnaspirituality #spiritualusachannel #whybhaktiisimportant #whyspiritualityisimportant #vaisesika #spiritualconnection #thepowerofspiritualstudy #selfrealization #spirituallectures #spiritualstudy #spiritualquestions #spiritualquestionsanswered #trendingspiritualtopics #fanthespark #spiritualpowerofmeditation #spiritualteachersonyoutube #spiritualhabits #spiritualclarity #bhagavadgita #srimadbhagavatam #spiritualbeings #kttvg #keepthetranscendentalvibrationgoing #spiritualpurpose

In this episode of Aspire to Lead, Joshua Stamper talks with Megan Diede about the power of connection, purposeful teaching, and the small instructional shifts that can create meaningful change in classrooms. Megan shares how her seven pathways to learning help educators design lessons that are more engaging, accessible, and effective for students while also reducing overwhelm for teachers. She talks about the importance of clarity, creativity, and flexibility in lesson design, as well as the value of making instruction more responsive to how students learn best. Joshua and Megan also discuss how teachers and leaders can support one another through burnout, workload, and the pressure to constantly do more. This episode is full of practical ideas for teachers, instructional coaches, and school leaders who want to create classrooms where both students and educators can thrive. Megan also shares insights from her book, Elevated Educator, along with resources that help schools implement small but powerful changes that improve instruction and strengthen classroom culture. Drawing on their extensive experience in education, Charle Peck and Joshua Stamper challenge outdated disciplinary practices and offer a clear, trauma-informed framework that empowers educators to interpret student behavior as a form of communication. Through three core tenets—Consider the Environment, Explore the Root Causes of Behavior, and Respond with Intentionality—this book equips leaders with actionable strategies to foster positive behavior, build stronger relationships, and cultivate a more supportive school climate. Packed with real-world case studies, evidence-based practices, and insights into the lasting effects of childhood trauma, The Language of Behavior provides school leaders with the tools to create lasting, meaningful change. It offers a roadmap to reduce behavior issues, re-engage students and staff, and establish a culture of accountability and empathy. This book is not just a reference—it's a call to lead with vision and transform how we approach discipline, ensuring every student has the opportunity to thrive. When the Bethel church crisis hit the headlines, many believers were left asking, “Can I trust church leaders at all anymore?” If you feel shaken by scandals in places you once loved, this conversation is for you. In this episode of Perspectives with Catherine Toon, Catherine sits down with long-time friend and minister Bill Vanderbush to explore a grace-filled response to the Bethel church crisis and the wider wave of Christian exposure culture online. Together they unpack what happens when church leaders fail, how pruning and discipline can still be love, and how to walk in discernment without losing tenderness or hope. What you’ll learn: - How to keep your faith anchored in Jesus when leaders you admire fall. - The difference between healthy honor and destructive idolatry in Christian culture. - Why “exposure channels” can’t heal victims and what real restoration requires. - Practical ways to confront abuse and deception without becoming bitter or cynical. Catherine and Bill also talk candidly about victims and victimizers, the misuse of “culture of honor,” the branding of Bethel, and how to navigate public repentance, justice, and mercy in a social media age. If you’re tired of fear-based takes yet still hungry for truth and accountability, this conversation will help you process the noise and locate the heart of Jesus again.
