Zachary Kluckman is an award winning poet. Named the 2015 and 2016 Slam Organizer of the Year, 2014 Slam Artist of the Year at the National Poetry Awards. They've been on national slam stages as an individual and as part of a group, including the Rumble Room team that went to Southern Fried Poetry Slam in 2017. At SoFried, Kluckman lead 3 newbies (me, Robin Reynolds, and Anna Martinez). A founding organizer the 100 Thousand Poets for Change program. Author of Per-City Poems, Animals in Our Flesh, Some of it is Muscle, and , one of the 4 poets in Rumble Room Volume 1, and has published at least 100 poems in various publications outside of these 4 collections.
Joy Elán is an author of six books (three poetry books, one academic book, and two fiction novels). She is from Oakland and Berkeley, CA. Born with a hearing loss, she has been wearing hearing aids since she was 15 months. Her mother always told her that she had three things against her: Black, female, and disabled. Joy went through life prepared for what she would face and has smiled throughout everything she has been through. She successfully overcame a good number of them as she’s far exceeded low expectations that others had for her, including having earned her Bachelor’s Degree from UC Berkeley and Master’s Degree from Stanford University.As a spoken word artist, she won third place in Oakland’s Got Talent in June 2014 for her spoken word piece, “I’m A Survivor.” She won twice at the National Poetry Awards for Poetry Video of the Year (2015) and Poet of the Year (2016). Joy Elan has received Table of Honor in some of the international book festival categories. Currently, she works with youth in Oakland and Berkeley, CA and performs spoken word at different places in the US, sharing her gift and inspiring other people.

Matt performs slam poetry across the country, because “Words are the expression of the spiritual.” Part of The P.O.E.T. Movement, Matt co-hosts several live-streamed P.O.E.T. Radio shows. She is a NC A&T SU Alumni with B.S. in Computer Science, VA certified teacher, and published author. She has been writing since the age of 12, but found that performance poetry was her purpose in 2009. Since then Shelly has been nominated for Poet of the Year in the Annual Baltimore Crown Awards 2010 featured and hosted at Busboys and Poets, spotlighted at the Black LUV fest, National Poetry Awards and featured as a spoken word artist in two stage plays. Her raspy voice and laid back personality combined with real world experiences inspire all who come in contact with her.
