It's become a Holidaze Tradition for close to 20 years now but who is counting. Matt Sonzala is back - with the help of Selectah Kei - with a mix of Nu Holidaze Classics for the 2024 Season. Please share with your friends and family as that is the real spirit of the season. Please to enjoy. See the Tracklist at Pushermania.com
You may or may not be ready for this one. The last Amapiano Christmas mix was kind of nice right? I got lots of nice feedback on that one and it felt good. I like to make people feel good, it's important to me. Especially at this time of year which can be wonderful but also stressful and for some, straight full of pain. Well this one isn't going to do you any favors I'll tell you that right now, but it does jam, it is fun and it's quite representative of the world in which we live in right now as all of North America freezes over and becomes the Nu Antarctica. Anyway, wrap yourself in some blankets, get your best headphones on and vibe out to the realness that is, Matt Sonzala's Holidaze Mess 2022. Bring on 2023! It's gotta be better than 2020 right???? See the full tracklist on Pushermania.com ideally AFTER you listen. I want this all to be big surprises for you. And yours.
it took me a lot of attempts to finish this particular self isolation mix. In reality it should have come out a lot sooner. When we were really panicking. You may still be panicking and so may be I, but I don't feel like I felt like six weeks ago, I feel a general sense of calm on top of total disbelief and panic and worry for the future. But I am trying to live in the present. And as old or as new as it is, jazz is a genre that can help you live in the present and stay grounded and refocus your mind, body and soul. And we all need some of that. We need to sit back and feel it. Ideally in some headphones. In an easy chair. Thinking about nothing. Feeling everything. Wanting nothing and knowing that you have it all even if you have nothing at all. You have the music. It's there for you. it exists. And you will survive right along with it. None of this music will ever die, and I hope you won't either. For a long, long, long, long, long, long time. We have so much more to do. The greats want and need our presence. And the ancestors have more hope than we do. Believe me. You will be ok. Please try to get through this one. Love from Matt Sonzala. #Pushermania
