With a career spanning early agency life to leading complex social and communications teams, Nikki specializes in a purpose-driven, human-first approach to brand building and leadership. She is a recognized expert in navigating the intersection of PR, digital strategy, and authentic storytelling, helping brands find their "core" to build lasting trust in a critical and fast-moving digital environment. What Brand Has Made Nikki Smile Recently? Nikki shared two brands that recently stood out: Chevy, for their deeply authentic "Memory Lane" holiday commercial that mastered the art of non-cheesy storytelling, and Mabel's Labels, for their proactive customer service that turned a lost shipment into a "customer for life" experience. Though Databank Brawl is on hiatus, we wanted to celebrate it along with longtime listeners of the podcast and reintroduce it to the ForceCenter listeners who began listening to the podcast after the end of the show's run. Though all of the episodes remain on our podcast feed, it can be daunting to scroll back and find them, so we're launching Databank Rewind. For at least nine months in the twelve, the people of this rare old town live out of doors nearly all the waking hours of the twenty-four. For the remaining three months of the year, December, January, and February, they delude themselves into the notion that they are having a winter, when they gather around a winter-time hearth and listen to imaginary wind-roarings in the chimney, and see through the panes fictitious and spectral snow-storms, and dream that they are housed so snug and warm. But when the day comes the sun is shining and there is no trace of white on the ground, and the grass is green and there are industrious buds breaking out of cover, and the earth is sleeping very lightly. Open-eyed, the youngsters sit by these December firesides and listen to their elders tell of the snow-storms in the long ago that came so very, very deep, when snowballs were flying in the streets, and the earth was white, and the 'banquettes,' or sidewalks, were ankle-deep in slush. This week in Louisiana history. February 7, 2010. New Orleans Saints win their very first Super Bowl and finish the year at 14-3. This week in New Orleans history. Born in New Orleans on February 6, 1944, Wilson Turbinton (known as Tee and Willie Tee) arranged, co-wrote and led the band on the Wild Magnolias' self-titled 1974 debut album. Depending upon how you look at it, time passes either slow or fast. It was nearly 50 years ago that we began learning magic in a whole new way: video. Prior to that, most magic was learned through books, magazines, lectures, or through an apprenticeship that was passed on from one magician to another. In some ways it seems that our evolution moved slowly from video tape to where we are today with digital images. In the late 1970's, Bob Yorburg, went into the studios and recorded a two volume VHS set where he taught close-up magic. It wasn't long after that before others ran through the door. I was one of those who watched that video set over and over and learned many of my early routines from Bob. He transitioned from one character to another before he found his true passion, refurbishing old magic props, carving Punch and Judy dolls, and working on band organs. View fullsize View fullsize View fullsize View fullsize View fullsize View fullsize View fullsize View fullsize View fullsize View fullsize This week Bob Yorburg tells us about how he came to produce those first video tapes, plus his work as the first Burger King in New York. He apparently worked in many other commercials besides the hamburger giant and he has some great stories. As mentioned, his passion is now carving carousel animals, carousel band organs, Punch and Judy dolls, and is respected and awarded in that field. There are moments in life when everything in us wants to pull back, disengage, or escape what feels uncomfortable or overwhelming. I've learned that leaning in, gently and intentionally, can transform those moments into opportunities for healing and growth. When we stay present with what's difficult, we begin to understand our triggers, soften our reactions, and reclaim our power. This practice isn't about pushing through pain; it's about listening, creating space, and responding with wisdom rather than fear. I will share how leaning in has allowed me to build emotional resilience, deepen self-trust, and move forward with greater peace and clarity. Would you like to do the same? Let's learn how, together! Welcome to Databank Brawl Rewind! Databank Brawl was a series that ran on ForceCenter from 2016 to 2020, and it remains one of our more beloved shows. Here's your chance to go back to those episodes week by week and laugh with us at old jokes, memorable moments, unforgettable guests, and, yeah, old microphones, recordings, and perhaps some Star Wars predictions that came true alongside many that most certainly did not.
