The Parable of the Net in verses 47-50 teaches of the future & final judgment of the Kingdom of Heaven as a time of separating two groups of souls. Parables of this kind are not spoken by Jesus to satisfy the curiosity of those who desire to know about the end times prophecy. Jesus teaches this parable (and other judgment parables) to alter life in the present. Jesus told parables to confront people with the character of the Kingdom of Heaven and to invite them to participate in it and to live in accord with it. This parable teaches the final separation between the good and the bad fish ... separation of the rotten and vile souls from the good and fresh souls. The spiritual net of the Kingdom of Heaven drags the souls of the world to gather up all in its path. Nothing escapes this drag net. Nothing will escape the Kingdom of Heaven as judgment comes. We are all right now caught up in this dragnet. No one is free from its depth.

This is the third sermon in our Parables of the Kingdom series from Matthew 13. From the parables of the wheat and weeds and the good and bad fish we learn about three phases in the Kingdom: (1) Current Situation (2) Coming Separation (3) Ceaseless Suffering
The parable of the fishing net illustrates the equalizing power of the gospel. As we move from this kingdom to our eternal one, the only thing that will make a difference between heaven and hell i what we did with Jesus. Jesus loves you so much and does not wish for you to perish, this is why He gives you and I a choice to identify with Him or something else. What do you identify with today and where will it ultimately take you? Sermon Notes @ http://bible.com/events/641174
The Kingdom of Heaven gathers, but we are told that it even seems to gather in undesirable elements as well. How can we avoid being pulled away into the false gospels and false prophets of our day?
Not everyone who is impacted by the Kingdom of God is a part of it. Only God has the final say on who is a citizen of the Kingdom. Because a separation between the saved and lost will happen, we must reach as many people as possible while we can.

There are many who are affected by the Kingdom but are not a part of it. The King has the final saw in who is a citizen in His Kingdom. Because a separation is coming, we must do whatever we can to reach as many people as possible.
