As Jesus finished up his teaching to his disciples on the Mount of Olivet he addressed the question that they were all wanting to know the answer to. When would his return be? Disciples of Jesus today still want to know the answer to that question - when will Jesus return? What's Jesus' response? His response that He IS coming again...and he tells us how to live as we wait for his coming. Listen as we finish up our study of Mark 13 and Jesus' Olivet Discourse

In Mark chapter 13 we have the longest teaching section that Mark records. As Jesus looks towards the future and what his disciples will face as they live in a world full of chaos in turmoil he sees wars, rumors of wars, famines, earthquakes, persecution and tribulation. But what he sees as the greatest danger is that in the midst of these will come false prophets and christs, temptations to recant faith, and anxiety that causes his followers to shut their mouths instead of proclaiming the gospel. Join as we hear Jesus' call his disciples to be on guard, not to be anxious, and to make sure that they are not led astray.

As we begin the year 2020 what can we learn from a poor widow about what true devotion to God looks like? Listen as we look at the closing verses of Mark 12 as Jesus invites us to take a closer look at the lives of the scribes and a poor widow.

Jesus is approached by a group from the Sadducees with a question that they think will finally stump Jesus and prove that the resurrection is a myth. Jesus response not only outsmarts his opponents but reminds us of the promise of the resurrection.

We turn from the subject of marriage to children. And we see in Mark the love Jesus has for children, but also the love he has for those who display childlike faith.

We return from the mountaintop where Jesus was Transfigured before Peter, James and John and we return to the valley where we find the rest of the disciples and a father and his demon possessed son. But as the glory of Jesus filled the mountaintop, the valley is filled with unbelief.

Jesus sends out the twelve disciples on their first ministry journey without him. In his sending instructions we can see principles that we can apply to ourselves as we too are sent into the world proclaiming the good news of Jesus.

Jesus returns to his hometown of Nazareth. This is his second trip back home, and like his first (Luke 4), he is rejected by the people of Nazareth that he spent the first 30 years of his life. In their rejection of Jesus, we hear a warning for us, to not allow familiarity with Jesus lead us unbelief in Jesus. Listen as we study Mark 6:1-6

We continue our series from Mark and see Jesus leave behind a storm on the Sea of Galilee only to encounter a storm in the land of the Garasenes. Only this storm is not one of natural forces, but supernatural, as Jesus encounters a man possessed by many demons. But as we see Jesus' encounter with this man, we see not only the strength of his power, but also something else about his power. Listen as we study Mark 5:1-20.
