Is RSL goalkeeper David Ochoa the "biggest villain since Steven Lenhart"? Who knows, but we're all for it. The 20-year-old goalkeeper helped Real Salt Lake to a 2-1 win at Minnesota United FC in their season opener — but should we be talking more about a Minnesota side that is 0-2 with 6 goals-against and just 1 goal-for, instead of coach Adrian Heath's exception to Ochoa kicking a ball into the stands? The NCAA women's soccer tournament opened this week, and Utah Valley made history with a 1-0 win over Memphis. Then the guys turn west toward the LA Galaxy and the hot start of five goal-scorer Javier "Chicharito" Hernandez. Subscribe to the podcast on Apple Podcasts, Spotify, or where ever else you listen. Sean and Jake also talked about the weekend that was for the local soccer teams including Real Salt Lake's draw at Chicago, Utah Royals FC playing to a scoreless tie at Portland and the Real Monarchs come-from-behind win at Colorado Springs. They closed out the show with Added Time with a great longform piece on Steven Lenhart and inspiring but cutting words from Brazilian great Marta.

CoG Studios, CA - The LA Galaxy are still in winter hibernation mode, but your hosts Josh Guesman and Wendy Thomas are not. The First show fo the new year has lots to cover. And even inactivity is a reason for some serious contemplation. But to help us kick off a brand new 2017, the show is lucky enough to be joined by former LA Galaxy Associate Head Coach, Dave Sarachan to talk about his departure from the club and where he's landed with the US Men's National Team. But first, your hosts are going to discuss the retirement of 14-year league veteran, Mike Magee. I mean we all have great stories when it comes to Mike Magee, but what did he really mean to the LA Galaxy? And why did Josh have to apologize to him in front of witnesses? Should Mike Magee be listed in the ring of honor next to true LA Galaxy Legends? There are lots of questions to answer when it comes to the his departure and your hosts will discuss it all. Then Dave Sarachan will join Josh to talk about the time he "fought" Steven Lenhart and whether or not he would've taken the job if the LA Galaxy would've offered him the Head Coaching job. And why exactly did Dave leave the team? Finally your hosts reconvene to discuss Jermaine Jones and his high price tag as well as talk about how this team is largely unaffected by all the players that have left the team since November of 2016. Plus Josh will even regail you of some tales of Designated Players and a theory on why Nigel De Jong really left the LA Galaxy. It's a packed show to start 2o17, and we're glad that you could join us! Music Provided by Back Pocket Memory

First things first, MLS is back and the action will be coming thick and fast until December. Is Roland Alberg the answer for Vincent Nogueira? Yes and no, says Doyle. Did Collin deserve a red vs. Real Salt Lake? That’s a universal no from the guys. Are the Impact actually worse with Didier Drogba in the lineup? (Gulp) Maybe. Then the guys run through some transfer rumors (Birnbaum, Bradley and Zendejas) before hitting up LA Galaxy forward Alan Gordon for some Cali Clasico stories, Steven Lenhart’s whereabouts and a scouting report on “baby” Bash Bro Jack McBean. You didn’t think we’d gloss over that US national team loss, did you? The guys give their thoughts on Tuesday’s domination at the hands of Lionel Messi and Argentine, then look ahead to World Cup qualifying and Road to Russia 2018. So you want Darlington Nagbe to play, but where? Who might be phased out? Who should be phased in? Might Jurgen Klinsmann actually move to the EPL? Hint: no chance.  In the mailbag, another jersey question goes off the rails and listeners give their unvarnished thoughts on the US and the anniversary of THAT goal from Landon Donovan.
