But the Saturday night match is a big test for a team that hasn't won a big game this year. Could it be a make-or-break game for a Galaxy side looking for any momentum it can turn into points with just six games remaining? On today's show, hosts Josh Guesman and Eric Vieira want to get you ready for this weekend's big game while also trying to put into perspective the rest of the season. And all of that will happen while the Dodgers battle the Giants in an NLDS deciding game -- the guys even stall at the end to make sure we can wrap it up. They didn't want to leave any loose threads. The guys will start by talking about the likelihood that Dennis te Kloese will be leaving at the end of the season and why that puts a lot of focus on the remaining front office staff. Can Greg Vanney carry the momentum of the club through to the 2022 season? And why are we even talking about 2022 when the Galaxy still have games to play in 2021? The guys will wrap the international call-ups and tell you why some red flags surround Sebastian Lletget and Jonathan dos Santos country appearances. Plus, Josh and Eric will tell you who will be available for selection on Saturday -- that includes injury updates as well. Then there's some Hall of Fame talk around Robbie Keane and a brief look at Julian Araujo and Efrain Alvarez's inclusion in the "22 Under 22" list that MLS hypes every season. Do Josh and Eric agree with the rankings? Where would they put the Galaxy's two young standouts? Finally, there's an in-depth look at the game this weekend with quotes from Greg Vanney about how the Galaxy can succeed against a red-hot Portland side that is coming into LA with all their confidence. It's a Saturday night game that doesn't get much bigger. Can the Galaxy find a way to break their winless streak? As always, thanks for listening to us! We're glad we could get you ready for the Galaxy's last six games of the regular season.

There were so many stops and starts it's hard to carry any momentum through international breaks that seem to come in rapid succession and then get back into a sprint toward the next break. But what has that really done to the LA Galaxy this year? What has been lost in this constant sprint-and-stop pace that sees just six games remaining in the regular season? On today's show, hosts Josh Guesman and Christian Miles (Kevin Baxter is away with the USMNT) discuss why the Galaxy haven't produced a consistent defensive lineup and why the midfield seems to have more holes in it than swiss cheese. The guys talk about what Jonathan dos Santos and Sebastian Lletget have in common and why Rayan Raveloson has shrunk away from the world-beater that showed up to the Galaxy and put the rest of the league on notice. Is there still time to fix both the midfield and the defense for the Galaxy? Or is it time to throw something against the wall and see what sticks? Josh and Christian will also discuss the Galaxy's upcoming schedule, why the race for the last playoff spot might just come down to a few teams, and what Galaxy internationals have been doing while away with their national teams. Plus, there's a power outage and some toilet talk! It's a well-rounded show that touches on just about everything! Thanks for joining us!

But two of them might have something to say about the Galaxy's playoff positioning. On today's show, hosts Josh Guesman and Sophie Nicolaou discuss a bunch of different topics that should have you wrapped up and thinking about the long and short-term success of the Galaxy. They'll discuss Julian Araujo declaring for the Mexican National Team, the plethora of Galaxy players out on international duty, and stats about the longest streaks in Galaxy history. Plus, we have LA Galaxy goalkeeper Jonathan Bond joining us to discuss the club's current form, what he thinks of the stops and starts of this schedule, and why he thinks the Galaxy are ready to put it all together. Also, roast dinners, mac-n-cheese, and meatloaf! If you listen, you'll understand! Finally, Josh and Sophie discuss tactical business decisions around celebrating Landon Donovan's statue in front of LAFC fans and much, much more! Were you expecting more from the LA Galaxy in their 1-1 draw? Were you waiting for things to explode in the second half? And are you still waiting? The Galaxy didn't exactly set the world on fire in the second half of the game against LAFC on Sunday night. And despite everything to play for in the final 45 mins of the match, they came up well short of clinical and seemed to be falling apart. On today's show hosts, Josh Guesman and Kevin Baxter discuss the Galaxy's lack of a killer instinct and why the 4-4-2 with Dejan Joveljić and Javier "Chicharito" Hernandez might not be the answer everyone was hoping it would be. Josh and Kevin start the show by discussing the overly long Landon Donovan statue unveiling, and then Josh will tell you what he thinks of the statue itself. Are you satisfied these statues are capturing the likeness of the Galaxy legends? Is it subjective? While discussing the draw itself, the guys will also dive into some fan behavior issues and why we're quickly falling down a rabbit hole of no visiting fans at these rivalry games. Is there a solution for the fighting, the damage to stadiums, and the pyrotechnics? Finally, Josh and Kevin will tell you why the Galaxy may be below the playoff line before they return from a 14-day international break and why you'll still have some MLS to watch over the weekend! We've got a great show that will help you bridge the gap in games that are rapidly approaching. Which Galaxy players will you watch on the international break? That's where the LA Galaxy's winless streak now stands, and they've got some tough prospects coming up midweek and this weekend. On today's show, hosts Josh Guesman and Kevin Baxter discuss the Galaxy's latest debacle and why Greg Vanney might be correct, but he still can't divorce himself from the results of the loss at Austin FC. The Guys will start with some numbers talk as they look at the Galaxy's play against Austin. Why did Vanney and Jonathan dos Santos both talk about execution after the game? And did the 2-0 loss come down to missed chances? What about the defense? Will they need to be perfect down the stretch for LA? And are the Galaxy even a playoff team anymore? Josh and Kevin will also discuss the chances that Dennis te Kloese gets all the blame if the season goes sideways and why one win really could mean the difference for a Galaxy team that is mentally fragile at this point. Expert analysis boiled down to "score first" and "be a better team." It may sound pedestrian, but the guys will make it sound way more exciting than that. But the base idea is still the same. So for the Galaxy, it definitely comes down to either executing when it counts or being executed before the season is over. How do the Galaxy make you feel right now? Can you take a positive mindset into Wednesday's match against Real Salt Lake? Let's go. Let's get this show going so that we can all find out what happens after the ball is kicked on Wednesday night!

The term can mean anything from what the LA Galaxy did with Gyasi Zardes to what they're trying to do with a young player like Alex Alcala. So what does it mean to an organization like the Galaxy? On today's special edition of Corner of the Galaxy, host Josh Guesman is joined by LA Galaxy General Manager Dennis te Kloese for over 60 minutes of youth development discussion. Josh and Dennis will cover topics that range from why scouting and development are different and what the goal for the club is when developing players. Why scouting is an essential part of the equation, and what it takes to make these ventures pay off? They'll also discuss how the landscape has shifted in MLS and why going to Europe to develop seems to be something of the past and not something of the future. What are the pitfalls of youth development for a young player, and why is it so important to have parental buy-in and parental education. And why the interests of the club can usually match the interests of the player. And Josh will even throw in some important questions at the end, just to make sure everyone makes it through the discussion. This is an unprecedented look into the theories and the thought processes behind the Galaxy's development system and what Dennis sees as the next steps for the program. It's also why he views it as unfinished business! A big thank you to Dennis for taking the time to talk to us about this subject. And yes, he is definitely messing with you on Instagram. Can the Galaxy look at that game and feel good about themselves? Of course they can't. That was a loss. A 3-0 loss and no amount of stat manipulation will get you to feel good about that game. So we probably won't try that tactic this time. Probably. On today's show, hosts Josh Guesman and Kevin Baxter discuss the Galaxy's penchant for losing games in which they allow the opposition to score first. And we think it's pretty obvious to say we've fixed the Galaxy without really trying that hard. Will world peace be next? Josh and Kevin discuss the loss to Minnesota and why the stats actually do tell the story if you want to read them right. So why did Greg Vanney put many of his starters on the bench for that game? And why does this team need to figure out their level? Plus, if you could get one player to play at their peak for the next nine games, who has the most significant effect on this team down the stretch? The guys will also talk about the Galaxy's schedule, MLS's scheduled, and why you should be scoreboard watching on Saturday and Sunday night. On today's podcast, hosts Josh Guesman and Eric Vieira want to dive headfirst into all the disappointing Galaxy feelings that are inhabiting your body and get you to a point where you're ready for the final ten games of the season. Josh and Eric will start by introducing you to our newest podcast game: Secret Word. That's where you try to guess what our secret word is during the show. Then send us an email. Maybe you'll win something? Perhaps you won't? The guys will dig into the draw with the Houston Dynamo and discuss some individual players who looked like they didn't belong on the field for the first half. And there's one name in here that is playing himself out of a starting position and a contract. Plus, the guys will discuss the bad calls the Galaxy were handed and why there probably should have been a penalty for the club in the second half. That being said, if Chicharito buries his 88th-minute shot, the Galaxy get all three points regardless of the bad calls down the stretch. Eric will tell you what he thinks is the best XI for the Galaxy, and Josh will cheat to tell you why Eric is wrong. But who would you start in this important game at Minnesota? Are you looking to pair Dejan Joveljić with Chicharito? Do you want a lineup you can build into? And how do you handle rotations with getting your best guys on the field? But the guys will also give you some ammunition to make those choices and explain who is making a difference on the score sheet and who isn't. So you're going to be ready for the discussion. That will include hearing from Javier "Chicharito" Hernandez for the first time since June and what Galaxy head coach Greg Vanney thinks of this Houston Dynamo team now that they snapped a very long winless streak. Josh and Kevin will start with the draw against the Colorado Rapids. They'll talk about the play of Chicharito and why the Galaxy left two or three big plays on the table when facing off against the second-best team in the Western Conference. Can you pencil LA into the number four spot in the West? Or could a busy September, and some dropped points, mean the Galaxy will be scrambling toward the end of the season? The guys will transition to an overlooked Galaxy defender, and why you should probably never count out Dan Steres. After all, he got a Team of the Week nod in his return to the starting lineup and helped the Galaxy limit the Rapids to just three shots on goal. But the September schedule should have you nervous. Josh and Kevin will go over the Galaxy's close to this short and compact month and look at all the road games that should have fans more than a little on edge. If the Galaxy are going to come together, now would be a great time to do it. Finally, the guys look at a Houston Dynamo team that is bad. And even though they just won, they're still bad. And that means these are probably the easiest three points of the season. Which also means they will be anything but easy. On today's show, hosts Josh Guesman and Sophie Nicalou discuss all the Galaxy news and info you need to head into a Friday night match that has a national TV audience, and that kicks off a rivalry weekend. Josh and Sophie will start with the loss to Colorado and what they saw from a frenetic Galaxy side that couldn't find the finishing touches despite several good stints of play. But there was also a horrible start to the game and some questions surrounding Jonathan Bond's performance. Did Greg Vanney cause some problems between Bond and Jonathan Klinsmann? Or is there more to the "nervous moments" from Bond during his two most recent games? Plus, how do you feel about Jonathan dos Santos' play over the last couple of games? Is he making a push for the Galaxy to keep him as a Designated Player? Or is his time with the club coming to a quick end? And what about injury updates for Friday night's game? Finally, we're discussing the Galaxy's match with the San Jose Earthquakes. Can the original rivalry still get the blood pumping? Can you still call it a rivalry? Are the Galaxy ready to make a sprint to the playoffs? Or is there still some worry that it could all come crashing down? And does Chicharito put this team into another level? Does his inclusion mean cup thoughts? We've got a great show that will get you ready for another rapid-fire game! See you at the stadium!

But why should the Galaxy be hyper-focused on Colorado on Tuesday night? Hosts Josh Guesman and Kevin Baxter discuss the Galaxy's 1-0 win over Minnesota and why Greg Vanney deserves a gold star for being willing to give away a road game while still getting three points. Rotation is an essential part of the Galaxy's strategy through the rest of this congested schedule. So a win on the road with a rotated lineup should make fans very excited for what is coming. And while Klinsmann was the big takeaway from the game -- and is undoubtedly making some fans think that the number two keeper might get the start again -- there are plenty of solid performances in that road win that need to be discussed. Kevin Cabra, Dejan Joveljić, Niko Hamalainen, and plenty of others deserve some acknowledgment over a hard-fought game that lets the Galaxy really attack their Tuesday night match with the Rapids. Plus, Josh and Kevin will update you on all the injuries the Galaxy are suffering and why getting Sebastian Lletget back after a tragic family loss is another big deal for the Galaxy's growth as a team. Finally, the guys are getting you ready for Colorado on Tuesday and discussing why the Galaxy and the Rapids are very similar. And that makes some sense when you compare the two coaches that were once teammates on the Galaxy. We've got a packed show with plenty of updates as you get ready for a weird Tuesday night game against the Rapids.

On today's show, hosts Josh Guesman and Eric Vieira want to give you all the Galaxy news you can handle. They want you to be fully prepared for a long week that starts on Saturday, includes a Tuesday, and finally ends on a Friday night with Star Wars. So do you want all the Galaxy-talk you can't get from your friends at the water cooler? Then circle up! This is going to be a long one! Josh and Eric start with some news that one of AEG's subsidiary companies just put out. They're going to require that you are vaccinated to attend concerts - including outside venues. So what does that mean for the Galaxy and attending games at Dignity Health Sports Park? We'll explain what could eventually be coming down the road! Then the guys will dive into rumors surrounding the re-signing of Dennis te Kloese and why the Galaxy might decide it's time to move on. But also why they might not want to wait if they're going to keep te Kloese. Could the Galaxy get caught out in today's high-paced footballing world if they give one person too much to handle? Would you want Greg Vanney running everything from top to bottom? And what are the next big decisions that have to be made now to get ready for 2022?! There are a lot, actually! And that planning starts immediately! Josh and Kevin will start by recounting their experience at the stadium and why nothing beats having fans in the stands and getting to say hi to so many people. But then it's on to evaluating how the Galaxy played against Seattle. There's detailed talk about the formation Vanney was playing and why things didn't quite work out the way the club wanted. But there are some positives as well. And if you lump everything together, what are you left with? The guys will give you updates on Raveloson and Jonathan dos Santos and talk about the injury to Dan Steres and why it comes at a crucial time. Plus, if the Galaxy wanted to see Kevin Cabral take a step forward, Saturday night wasn't that night. But along the way, the guys will update you on standings, talk about Sebastian Lletget, Jonathan Bond, Julian Araujo, and the upcoming Gold Cup, and how many players the team things will be leaving them. Josh and Kevin will also get you ready for the game against the Vancouver Whitecaps and why it's the most winnable game of the next two, but certainly not a lock. Would a draw be good enough? It's a packed show full of Galaxy talk and opinion! And we're glad you chose us to get you through a bunch of rapid-fire games!

It's a tremendous matchup that may give the Galaxy a measuring stick to see how far they've grown in a very short amount of time, and it's a full-capacity game for the first time since early 2020. On today's show, host Josh Guesman is joined by Spectrum SportsNet's Nikki Kay as a special guest-host ahead of the first Spectrum SportsNet broadcast of a regular-season game in 2021. Together, Josh and Nikki will break down all the latest Galaxy news and get you ready for kick-off on Saturday. And that includes being the very first to tell you about what you can expect when you're inside the stadium. Your hosts will start by diving into the first open practice since the start of the pandemic, tell you what the team was like, and what we learned from an informative media call. Josh and Nikki will then discuss the Juneteenth celebration and tell you what the Galaxy are going to do to acknowledge this brand new federal holiday. Then they'll move on to talk about a hectic schedule that will keep the Galaxy occupied for more than just this weekend. Plus, they'll discuss the two guys still on international duty. We haven't seen a consistent Galaxy club. Will this be the start of one of their strongest runs? Finally, Nikki will give you her thoughts on the Seattle Sounders and what Vanney wants to see from a Galaxy team that will need to grow into this game. Do you know the last time the Sounders lost? It was in an MLS Cup Final... That should give you some perspective on the mountain the Galaxy will try and climb this weekend. Are you ready for a return to almost normalcy?

It is excellent news ahead of a shorthanded rivalry match that will see them host the San Jose Earthquakes on Saturday afternoon. On today's show, LA Galaxy General Manager Dennis te Kloese joins the show to talk about the Galaxy's steps moving forward, whether they are done building the roster and why the club has been so focused on mining the French second division. Plus, if you want to read between the lines, there finally seems to be an answer for the Mauricio Cuevas saga taking place down at LA Galaxy II. Why haven't we seen Cuevas since the preseason? Hosts Josh Guesman and Eric Vieira will talk about a David Beckham stat that you thought would be better, and they'll dive back into the injury to Andy Polo and a better explanation of what happened to Derrick Williams on that tackle. But they're also going to address the racial slurs and the death threats Williams has been getting on his social media. Do those with more significant platforms shoulder some responsibility for the fall-out and mob mentality? Josh and Eric will also get you ready for what should be a very interesting game against the San Jose Earthquakes. And when should fans be expecting Sega Coulibaly and Rayan Raveloson to show up? They've got a big week before facing off against the San Jose Earthquakes on Saturday, and we know they're going to be missing some bodies. On today's show, hosts Josh Guesman and Kevin Baxter discuss the Derrick Williams red card that has everyone out for a significant punishment and tell you why we're not ready just to believe what the Galaxy are telling us about his health status. Is it a conspiracy? No! But it is a question of why everything looked so weird. Josh and Kevin will start by taking a look at what the Galaxy were trying to do in the game against the Timbers and what didn't work at all. Was Efrain Alvarez the key to unlocking the Portland defense? And did that mean that Portland did an excellent job of bracketing him? Or was he trying to occupy some busy real estate that pulled Chicharito out of position? The guys will discuss Samuel Grandsir's backward and awkward step that saw him leave the game early and without too much impact. Plus, the guys will once again praise Jonathan Bond and Julian Araujo for another solid performance. But the big discussion will be around the Williams red card and what Josh and Kevin think the video actually shows. Is Williams a dirty player? Was the tackle dirty? Or was it a freak coming together of two guys and more of a soccer play than people want to realize? And why does it feel like the Galaxy are fighting the ghosts of Nigel de Jong with this? Kevin will tell you why you can expect Jonathan dos Santos to be playing this weekend when initially we thought he wasn't playing and why Sebastian Lletget has four International games in the next three weeks? What will the Galaxy have to do to get a starting lineup against the Earthquakes? How many starters do they have to replace? We've got a busy show with a lot to talk about. On the last show of the preseason, hosts Josh Guesman and Larry Morgan discuss the busy week and the even busier weekend the LA Galaxy have as they are ready for their Sunday matchup with Inter Miami CF. The guys will start with some media day highlights from a passionate Javier "Chicharito" Hernandez and a remorseful and emotional Sebastian Lletget. Normally this kind of vulnerability isn't shown in a press conference. So to see it twice, within minutes of each other, shows that this is a Galaxy team that is working on their mental health. The guys will then go on to discuss the ridiculous situation MLS is putting the Galaxy in by not letting them know of if they'll be playing without Lletget until very late in the week, and why the league tried to censor the most poignant moment of any of the press conferences on the day. Is MLS setting Lletget up for a fall? We'll show you the video and play you the audio, and you can decide. Josh and Larry also discuss the most critical pieces for the Galaxy in 2021 and why it won't improve without these players having a good year. Plus, there's just a brief update on the rumor of another French player -- this time a center back -- headed to the Galaxy.
