“Repent” is a religious word with a lot of baggage. It brings to mind shame and threats of punishment. But there is another side to it: one that has to do with healing, repair, and peace. This sermon draws from the UUA's Common Read, On Repentance and Repair by Danya Ruttenberg. You can learn more about the Common Read program here. In this weeks episode we speak to Tom Godfrey AKA The Plank Man, a Mindset Coach in the business of shifting perspectives and changing lives.Tom came to a crossroads in his life at 2020. He had, what was, materially and optically, a successful career in healthcare management and sales in the mental health managed care sector. He had it all, but realised he had nothing. He loved his kids, loved his wife but had a big empty whole where fulfilment was meant to be.This realisation fired him out of the awakening cannon at speed and straight into a new career helping clients master their mind and realise the true power of changing perspective. He has a simple, but massively effective proposition. That if we accept that we are the observer, not the owner, of our thoughts then we take back control of, everything. We discuss his approach to life, coaching and living and get into the weeds of how the identity trap works so well, and why he has made it his life's work to help people out of it.You can find and connect with Tom on LinkedIn at https://www.linkedin.com/in/tom-godfrey-mindset-coach/ Follow The Wake Up on Social Media: Instagram - https://www.instagram.com/thewakeup23/ TikTok - https://www.tiktok.com/@wakeuppodcast23 Twitter - https://twitter.com/wakeup_cocreate Facebook - https://www.facebook.com/thewakeuppodcast/ YouTube - https://www.youtube.com/@TheWakeUp_ChannelLinkedIn - https://www.linkedin.com/company/the-wake-up/

In March 2022, the Economic Crime Transparency and Enforcement Act came into force after it was fast-tracked through Parliament in response to urgent calls for the UK's economic crime laws to be tightened. The new legislation introduces further sanctions powers and aims to tackle financial crime by revealing the identities of overseas beneficial owners of UK property. We asked Tom Godfrey whether this important piece of legalisation is likely to be effective and achieve its aim?
