You may recall this week’s guest from episodes 49 and 50 of Uncontained featuring The Haunted Bay. I met with director, writer and actor, Matthew Abaya, in the San Francisco Mission district to talk about his new movie, Vampariah. Vampariah is a story about Filipino vampires known as the “Aswang” pronounced “ah swan.” We talk about the making of the film and why he brought the Aswang to American cinema.Matthew has won many awards at film festivals including best picture, best visual effects, and numerous Golden Steak awards. They even took home a Golden Steak award home from Transylvania, the land where all the Vampire lore started. Finally, after a long week wait here is part two of The Haunt on Uncontained. In this episode, we wrap up my conversation with the cast and crew of The Haunted bay. If you have not listened to part one of this interview please go back and catch up. The Haunted Bay is a show that wants to disprove, as much as prove, that ghosts are out there. It all started when a group of media students began their journey into the world of the paranormal to find the answers to these questions: Is San Francisco really one of the most haunted places in the United States? What are paranormal investigations really like? The Haunted Bay explores local ghost stories, documents paranormal investigations, and interviews mediums and parapsychologists. “We dig up long forgotten history through paranormal phenomena. We visit famous haunted sites, but we are also discovering that the local mom and pop store, the corner bar, the theater down the street might also be haunted. Ghosts may be all around us...”Links:youtube.com/thehauntedbayfacebook.com/thehauntedbayhttps://twitter.com/thehauntedbay @thehauntedbayinstagram.com/thehauntedbayBios: Ying Liu is the producer and director of the paranormal documentary web series, The Haunted Bay. She grew up listening to ghost stories, but really grew more interested in the question of whether there are ghosts and the afterlife after the passing of her mother. Taking a video production course at a community college allowed her to begin her search for answers. In addition to being a producer, she is also an actor in theater, films, and medical training programs and works as a college outreach coordinator.
