In this episode of The Remarkable Project Jay speaks with Michael Croaker, a long-standing leader in the world of theme park entertainment and experiences, about why learning how to be truly memorable can have profound business benefits, how storytelling and “predictable irrationality” contribute to the creative process, and the fine balance between messaging and memorable moments.Michael Croaker is an award winning 30-year theme park veteran. At 18 he was the youngest Live Show Announcer in the history of Sea World, and by his mid-20s he'd become Head of Show Production, writing and developing live park content and providing creative oversight broadly across the business.Going on to assume the role of Entertainment Manager for Wonderland Sydney, Michael successfully introduced powerhouse entertainment properties Marvel, Dreamworks and Hasbro into the park during his tenure. He was then Appointed to the role of Head of Entertainment for Village Roadshow Theme Parks in 2005, where he not only led diverse creative teams through compelling day trade content within Warner Bros. Movie World, Sea World and Paradise Country, but, together with his creative team, produce an annual series of large-scale park events including Fright Nights, Hooray For Hollywood, Carnivale and White Christmas.Today, he also manages to find time to work as a Communication Coach with his business, Stand & Deliver, and is host of the Park Life Podcast, a celebration of people and stories from within the theme park and attractions industry Whenever asked about what business he's in, Michael's answer is always the same, “the business of hardwiring memories for life”.Remarkable TakeawaysWhy learning how to be truly memorable can have such profound human and commercial influence on business. How understanding the irrationality of individuals and the power of story helps creators harness their own quirks and biases to craft compelling outcomes for customers. The way business owners and leaders should be thinking about weaving key messages into memorable moments, without diluting their impact.Connect with Michael Find him on LinkedinCheck out his Instagram Learn more about his business Stand & Deliver via their website

DownloadWelcome to Episode 303 of LOTC. This week the crew is discussing Horror movie poster art with special guest Edward Delgado. Edward is a Graphic Designer who has created several of the logos used with LOTC as well as many other podcasts. Edward came up with the theme this week which was our top five horror movie posters. This was a lot of fun talking about not only the posters that made us want to see a movie. If you think this is just going to be us naming a poster, then you will be mistaken as we really break down our thoughts on each poster. You will have a deeper appreciation about the posters we love to buy or hang on our walls from our favorite movies. You will find yourself examining the ones you own, and be surprised to find hidden art within art. As a Horror Podcast the crew also review Driller Killer which happens of course to be about an artist gone mad & finds a way to relief his stress. We thank Edward "Eddie " for sharing his knowledge & talent with LOTC. We hope you will enjoy this episode and let us know which are your favorites all time artsy horror posters. The Video Monsters share their thoughts on the 14th annual Knoxville Horror Film Festival, which ran from Oct. 20th - 23rd at the Parkway Drive-In and Central Cinema in Knoxville, TN. From canonical classics like CREEPSHOW, FRIGHT NIGHT (1985), ARMY OF DARKNESS, RE-ANIMATOR, and FROM BEYOND; to the FULCI LIVES triple feature; to some of  biggest genre hits on this year's festival circuit like KIDS VS ALIENS, HUESERA, TIMEKEEPERS OF ETERNITY, and SOMETHING IN THE DIRT; the folks at Central Cinema once again crushed it with this year's fest. They were even considerate enough to program future Christmas horror classics like THE WOODSMAN, THE LEECH, and CHRISTMAS BLOODY CHRISTMAS so that we could release this episode in December and it still be seasonally appropriate (OK, so maybe that isn't why they picked these killer holiday flicks but isn't it nice how things worked out?) So grab your R.I.P pass, hit the concession stand, snag some Central Cinema merch and meet us in Knoxville because it's time to celebrate BOTH of the most wonderful times of the year with our coverage of the 2022 Knoxville Horror Film Festival! Kevin & Chris celebrate Thanksgiving week with the gloriously campy and sleazy domestic-thriller Scream for Help (1984). The 'mos talk proto-The Stepfather vibes, heightened soap opera acting, wild editing & directorial choices, Fright Night scribe Tom Holland's massacred script, over-the-top scoring via Led Zeppelin's keyboardist, sex scenes & abortion sub-plots, and so many absolute WTF moments (seek out this nutty movie, folks!). Bonus topics include thoughts on Todd Field's TÁR plus whatever else we felt like talking about this holiday week. Happy Thanksgiving, listeners! In the spirit of Halloween, we have a special treat for you this week. Jarvis recently appeared on the 'A Year in Horror' podcast to discuss both Night Demon and his lifelong affinity for horror movies, with particular emphasis on the film Fright Night. That interview is reproduced for you in full here. Host Paul Waller asks Jarvis a series of insightful questions about Night Demon's activities (including this very podcast). In response, Jarvis provides a wealth of information, including a few hints about the forthcoming 2023 album.  From there, the conversation pivots to horror movies. Jarvis talks about developing a love for horror movies in his early years, and explains why he particularly gravitated toward Fright Night as his favorite. The commentary goes into great detail about scenes, characters, production values, and other minutiae.  To conclude the episode, Jarvis selects a single Night Demon song to close out the podcast and introduce 'A Year in Horror' listeners to what the band is all about. Tom Holland joins us this week to share incredible story after story from his 60+ year tenure in Hollywood.
