What if your brain doesn't produce consciousness any more than a radio produces the music? My guest today is Dr. Arnaud Delorme, a computational neuroscientist at UC San Diego and the Institute of Noetic Sciences. He wires up Tibetan monks and mediums to see what actually happens in their brains. When a medium connects with a loved one on the other side, he expected brain activity to spike. Instead, it went almost silent. The more accurate they were, the more their working memory shut down. As if the information wasn't coming from inside them at all. Das erklärt #Arne_Tölsner, Head of Client Group DACHbei Capital Group im Gespräch mit der GELDMEISTERIN folgendermaßen: Ihm zufolge sind kurzfristige Marktschwankungen durch Kriege, Konflikte oder Ölpreisschocks zwar ernst zu nehmen. Langfristig seien es aber vor allem die Unternehmensgewinne die die Richtung an den Börsen vorgeben.Laut einer aktuellen Global-Equity-Studie von Capital Group haben die Gewinne der weltweit größten börsennotierten Unternehmen zuletzt ein Rekordniveau erreicht. Gleichzeitig blieben auch Dividenden und Aktienrückkäufe hoch. Das habe auch damit zu tun, dass einige strukturelle Investmentthemen derzeit klassische Konjunkturzyklen überlagern. Dazu zählen vor allem: Künstliche Intelligenz als Produktivitäts- und Investitionszyklus Verteidigung und Sicherheit durch die hierfür steigenden staatlichen Ausgaben Die Energie- und Netzinfrastruktur, die weltweit kräftig ausgebaut werden. Die Digitalisierung, Automatisierung und der Ausbau der kritischen Infrastruktur robuste Geschäftsmodelle in den Bereichen Gesundheit, Industrie und bei ausgewählten Finanzwerten.Tölsner betont, dass KI nicht nur ein Thema für klassische Technologieunternehmen ist. Entscheidend sei vielmehr, welche Unternehmen KI tatsächlich nutzen können, um Produktivität, Margen und Ertragskraft zu verbessern. Profiteure könnten daher entlang der gesamten Wertschöpfungskette liegen: Halbleiter, Rechenzentren, Stromnetze, Industrieausrüstung, Software, Gesundheitswesen und Finanzdienstleistungen. Ob andererseits Aktien aktuell schon zu teuer sind müsse man differenzierter betrachten: Die Bewertungen seien teilweise anspruchsvoll, aber die Kurse können aufgrund steigender Gewinnerwartungen durchaus gerechtfertigt sein. This week I am talking to the medium Traci Bray. Bio Traci Bray was born and raised in Clinton, Iowa.  She was 5 years old when the first known deceased person appeared to her. Although recognition of life beyond a physical existence was real for Traci, it wasn't until the mid-1990's that she began offering public readings at the urging of friends. Via word-of-mouth, accolades of her skills widened. Her clientele has expanded across the US, and to all continents save the poles! Traci's professional background and enhanced communications skills lend themselves to her readings. What started as an unlikely foray into paranormal investigation blossomed into a full mediumship practice centered on one core mission: making spirit communication accessible, human, and far less scary. The conversation moves from reframing "haunted house" phenomena as simple requests for connection, to the surprising ways motherhood has cracked Lauren's mediumship wide open, to her use of Spirit Box technology for live, audible communication with the deceased. After pausing her practice in early motherhood, Lauren discovered that survival mode had burned away her perfectionism and need to "try." The result? The pressure to be "ready" or "perfect" before showing up as a medium is a trap. Presence and trust matter far more than polish. Spirit Box / ITC technology is alive and accessible. Mary Shelley's Frankenstein continues to captivate audiences centuries after its publication, but not all adaptations emphasize the same ethical questions. Matthew and returning guest AK dive into both the original novel and Guillermo del Toro's recent film adaptation—not to catalog their differences, but to explore how each medium handles the story's core moral dilemmas and which approach proves more compelling.How Does the Film Emphasize “The Other” Differently?While both the book and film explore themes of parentage, responsibility, and scientific hubris, they emphasize different ethical questions. AK notes that the novel places stronger emphasis on the responsibilities of individuals in medicine and parenting, particularly through the lens of abandonment. The film, however, foregrounds questions about the grotesque other, the monstrous other, and how appearance shapes moral judgment.
