This is the show were two Christians and an agnostic expose hypocrisy, search for meaning and talk about life. Everybody has a worldview but not everybody realizes exactly what their worldview is. This ongoing discussion will explore the Christian worldview and also an agnostic and atheist worldview. It's our hope that these conversations we'll expose hypocrisy on all sides and seek understanding but not always agreement. Believe it or not it's ok to agree to disagree and still part friends.
Dan Sachoff and Jared Burkholder
Some thoughts about the upcoming elections from a Biblical perspective.
Hey there! We took a long nap cause we were tired. Had a really weird dream that Covid never left and the world was angry and on fire...Crazy right?
This week we're joined by Kyle Roberts, a friend of the show who works in the medical industry, in addition to being a Christ follower. He talks us through Corona from his vantage point on the front lines of the battle. He examines the virus from a medical and spiritual standpoint. Grateful for his willingness to join us.
This week we're grateful to have a guest with a supremely interesting faith journey. Ansley Hendricks grew up in the church, but as a teenager and into her early twenties, she found her self living a life far from faith. Her story is honest, compelling and something we can all learn a great deal from. Enjoy our conversation with Ansley Hendricks!
In this episode Dan and Jared are lucky to get some time with the great and powerful Martha Harding. She brings up some great things to think about as we as Christ followers strive to place others above ourselves. No matter our differences, we're all image bearers and that should inform how we treat others regardless of how we may disagree. Grateful for some time to talk to Martha!
Well folks, if you haven't heard, there's a bit of a pandemic going on. In this episode of the show we talk about all things Covid-19 and how we're dealing with it. This marks the first time Jared and Dan haven't been in the studio together. The new show open in this episode is courtesy of Kevin Macleod. Hope you're all staying safe! Don't hesitate to contact us with prayer requests or stories of how you've been impacted by the Coronavirus at blessingfilledhosts@gmail.com
Just like Sister Sledge told us in that great hit from 1979, the church is and should provide family for those in need by drawing a hurting world to Christ. In this Hot Topic We examine an article in the Atlantic by David Brooks that looks at how the idea of family has changed through the years, and how the church fits in. Also, Dan and Jared almost talk politics but not quite...enjoy!
This week Dan and Jared are joined by a listener...can you believe it! Someone besides Jared's Mom actually listens! Jim engages the guys on a very interesting topic...if someone is trying to choose a church, how do they go about it? What's the difference between Baptists, Presbyterians, Lutherans...oh my!! Great discussion with a phenomenal guy!
This episode wrestles with the concept of how we a humans consistently ignore the fact that none of us is getting out of here alive. With the death of basketball legend Kobe Bryant, we're reminded of how short life can be and Dan and Jared explore why we hold death at arms length so much of the time.
This week the guys tried an experiment...could they make a call, live on the air (not really live but live to tape) to their old friend Bryan and would he pick up? Find out as you listen to this Hot Topic which is filled with the unexpected and surprisingly good conversation in the middle of what started as a goof.
This week we're joined by actor Nicholas D'Agosto to discuss his journey from Catholicism to secular humanist. He's the star of "Trial and Error" on NBC, played Harvey Dent in "Gotham," Hunter Raymond, Jan's assistant in "The Office" just to name a few. This week Dan and Jared welcome Pastor Johnathan Colby to the show. Among his many other accomplishments, perhaps the most impressive is that he was able to survive being Jared's roommate in college...impressive. It's not what you think. Although we love a good Philodendron as much as the next guy, this episode is about how to tend the garden that God has given you. We're joined once again by our friend Barry Moore who is the purveyor of Toworkandkeep.com, a great website that we find really encouraging. Great episode to listen to whether you're a Christ follower or not. If you are, you will find encouragement...and if you're not you'll also find encouragement and maybe a little more understanding of how Christians think about living a life that honors God using the gifts and grace that God has given us in Christ.
Ok, chances are this episode is probably going to make some people mad...and that's a good thing! Jared and Dan explore their different takes on patriotism and politics and see if they can still be friends. Spoiler alert...they can because ultimately the bond they have in Christ is stronger than politics, but this conversation makes for a very interesting episode. Good conversations to have!!
This hot topic explores something Jared and Dan are not proud of...their cynical, sarcastic nature. While fun and comforting sometimes it often gets out of hand and isn't a great trait when sharing the gospel.

So happy to have Bryan back in the studio this week! This week we discuss how his views on God, eternity and death have been (or not been)affected by the recent loss of a friend. We touched on this issue without Bryan a couple weeks back, but were glad to get his input on this episode. Before we get to the meaty stuff though, Bryan and Jared make fun of Dan for what seems like an eternity...good times.

Kelly to the Harvest church controversy in Illinois, we examine how the human heart is prone to corruption. This week we tackle the difficult topic of suicide. Recently this has touched our lives and on this episode we discuss how it's affected us and how this and many other difficult topics should be things we're able to talk about more openly in a church context. As Tim Keller says, "Church should be a hospital for sinners and not a museum for saints."
This week our Hot Topic explores the outright heresy of a pastor we found on Youtube. While simultaneously hilarious and disturbing, it's a good onramp to a conversation about how poor representatives of Christ's Church can make for challenging conversations with unbelievers.
In this weeks episode we discuss where, how and why we seek community. As usual we go off trail and cover a myriad of random topics as well, which include other podcasts, making fun of Dan and the 1970's.

This week we find out that Bryan doesn't really know what we mean when we talk about the gospel, so we tell him what it is. We also discuss Cats & 7-11 so we've pretty much covered all the bases in this episode.
It would't be a Hot Topic episode without a healthy dose of randomness. This week we discuss everything from Mixed Martial Arts to serving in a homeless shelter...strap in because we're covering a lot of ground in very little time!
This week we speak to comedian Patrick Keane about his ongoing faith journey. Jared and I talk about the science of studying ancient manuscripts to determine the authentic text of the Bible and we also explore what downtown Eden must have been like...buckle up, it's going to be quite a ride!

This weeks Hot Topic features Danny Sachoff. Continuing the Sachoff family affair for yet another week, we discuss what the transition has been like from secular High School to Christian University for young Danny. Jared revels in getting Danny to expose all the Sachoff dirty laundry for the entire world to hear...and by entire world we mean Jared's Mom and Barb the Christianese organist...that's one advantage of being the nations least listened to podcast.
After a Thanksgiving hiatus...we're back! This week our special guest is Jill Sachoff, a talented actress and wife of one of the knuckleheads who hosts this podcast.
