Professor Geoff Dahl is a US scientist with a knack for explaining his research in simple terms, which is exactly what he does when talking about the ongoing effects of heat stress on dry cows and heifers. His research indicates that up to four litres per cow could be lost for an entire lactation if dry cows are heat stressed, with further impacts on calf weight, development and milking potential.
