Internationally, there is often a large gap in the resources between countries. The Catechism explains the justice and solidarity that should exist among all nations, rich and poor. Rich nations have a duty of solidarity, charity, and justice to support nations who are unable to fully ensure their own development. Fr. As the harvest comes to a close, many farms are already negotiating their land rental agreements for 2026. Kelly Wilfert, UW-Extension Legal Specialist, says that getting things in writing is really critical. Jenny Wackershauser, dairy analyst with EverAg in Platteville, joins Pam Jahnke to talk about the latest milk production numbers. While the market knew there would be growth, she says milk production went up over 4%. That was a surprise. Wackershauser goes on to note that there's still plant expansion happening in some regions, giving a "home" for that expanded milk. This is the story of a brave and hard working veteran who had to overcome sorrow, pain and life's hard knocks since he was four years old. Yet he was determined to find a way to a path of balance and clarity in life. Rob mentioned that by the time he was a teen, he felt that he'd rather die overseas than stay living with his father and stepmother. Rob served his country for seven years. After attempting to take his life and being assaulted by a senior officer, he decided that it was time to retire. Insomnia was chronic and conventional treatments weren't helping with Rob's mental health issues  Rob decided to head to Asia and more or less loose himself in the culture, nature and face his demons. He explains, "Instead of waiting, I set out on a journey that changed everything.I lived with tribes in the jungles of the Philippines, spent three months as the disciple of a Hindu monk in the Himalayas, trained under a Shaolin master in China, and later joined a troop of spear fishermen in Boracay who hunted in the deep daily to feed their community during the pandemic.The lessons I gathered became the foundation of my book "Unfiltered Wisdom," a raw look at resilience, self-discovery, and mental health from the inside out." His book, "Unfiltered Wisdom," is the result of re-examining himself, his pain, sorrow, sickness and anger. Rob's first contact with me was this email:"I lost my mother when I was four years old on Christmas Eve in 1987 so I didn't really have much of a relationship with her throughout my life because she was gone.However, my father remarried, and I had a stepmother. We had a very complicated relationship, but she did really help my dad get himself back in order and gave us a way better life than my siblings before he had so I'm definitely grateful for her efforts and sacrifice in that regard.I'm interested in talking about my mom but again I don't really know too much about my real mother other than stories that I was told. While not a legal instrument in the treaty sense, the armistice was a binding agreement that had massive legal and geopolitical ramifications. Its terms, including a cessation of hostilities, withdrawal of German forces, and surrender of military equipment, were enforced by military and diplomatic means, laying the groundwork for the Treaty of Versailles in 1919. The legal aftermath of the war led to the creation of new nation-states, redrawn borders, and the first formal attempt at international governance through the League of Nations.November 11 would later be recognized in the United States as Veterans Day, originally commemorated as Armistice Day, reflecting the legal shift from honoring only WWI veterans to recognizing all who served in the U.S. Armed Forces. This week I'm joined by the wildly well-traveled UK based model, Jade Kitty Dawson: a full-time touring art nude / fashion / alt model who has shot over countless photo sessions across Europe. She and I finally found a moment to connect despite the 7-hour time zone difference between the US and the UK. We talk about the realities of modeling in the UK vs mainland Europe (and why the rates are often lower in the UK), how she strategically chooses where she tours so she can still walk away with profit, and her upcoming major leap: planning her very first tour to Australia, where she'll be flying 22+ hours for a 2–3 week run. What I love about Jade is her willingness to take those big, scary leaps purely in the name of growth - even when she's nervous - because, as she says, “you always regret the chances you didn't take.”   We also dive deep into the beginning of her career — she started doing “site modeling” at just 14, styling, shooting, and editing her own photos as a one-woman creative outlet, which genuinely helped her come out of a dark period of bullying, depression, and anxiety. From there we follow her path into professional modeling, the encouragement she received to try art nude, navigating family reactions, and the harsh lessons she learned about safety while traveling internationally as a freelance model. As a child, riding, tinkering/repairing bicycles were just a few hobbies Mike enjoyed. But the woodworking project is beneficial for so many reasons. Yes it's fun but it truly helps children and adults with distracted minds become more grounded and able to focus.  Children collaborate and help one another, improve their math skills, use their hands, learn to measure and cut wood and so much more. But it was Mike's mother, Linda, who really concentrated on helping Mike with his OCD/ADHD.  He says, "she was very instrumental in trying to keep me active. It was very hard for her to see this disruptive behavior in her own child." Mike agrees that he was dealing with Impulse control negative attention issues.Education was very important to Linda. She completed her PHD when Mike was a teen.  She was determined to help Mike figure out what interested him, what his strengths and attributes were and decided to concentrate on those gifts. Linda's grandfather had been a Rabbi in Ukraine. Her father died when she was in high school and mother had dyslexia and had never learned to read or write, so all of her past, played a major role in her passion for a solid education. She was determined to help her son overcome his educational challenges.Linda got married at 19. In order to become a lab technician, she got her Batchelor's degree in Science and Medical Technology. "To show how important education was to her, she went back to school got her Masters Degree and then  in her 40's got a PHD in "Immigration History." Mike explains, "growing  up Jewish in Minnesota, was very rare. It was very interesting to see these immigration patterns that she lived through and seeing similar patterns repeating again today. Later on LInda started a historical society to study Jewish Immigration in the Upper Midwest.Knowing her son's interests helped Linda come up with the idea for Mike to help her when she was cataloging information from those of her Jewish community who had passed away. Family members had donated diaries and personal information. These tasks were very detail oriented and she knew that was one of her son's many strengths. As Chairperson of the Norwegian Association of Homeopaths, the European Council of Classical Homeopathy, and the International Council of Classical Homeopathy, he has not only led but also initiated many of the most important organizational and professional structures we take for granted today. He helped establish the first European guidelines for homeopathic education, guidelines that are now recognized globally as the standard. His honorary membership in the Norwegian Association of Homeopaths reflects a lifetime of service to the professional community.   As a lecturer and course instructor, he has been invited around the world for more than four decades, holding seminars on homeopathy, integrative medicine, philosophy, self-development and spirituality. He has trained healthcare professionals—including medical doctors and nurses—on the role of homeopathy in patient care, and his advanced training programs for practitioners have influenced generations of therapists. Robert is the middle child of nine, five girls and four boys. Because of his mother's health, the family packed up and moved to California from Minnesota. The warm, sunny weather of southern California helped with his mom's chronic pneumonia.  But the many lakes in Minnesota played a crucial role in Robert's  relationship with his mom, one that he'll never forget.Robert says, my mother had a sunny personality, really cheerful. She looked at real estate as a matchmaker-match people together with a beautiful home."Joan lost her mom, Robert's maternal grandmother, when she was four years old, so she never really knew how to cook. So she didn't have the traditional family recipes to fall back on each night.  However, she had a solid positive outlook and she truly knew her son really well.When asked if he and his siblings had plenty of freedom and were off on their own and knew when to come home for dinner Robert says "everyone else kind of new when to come home for dinner. I was kind of the devious one."  The thing that hurt him more than anything was when his mom would say "I'm very disappointed in you." To this day Robert says " I didn't want to disappoint my mother."Believe it or not, it was Robert's mom who busted him for shoplifting as a young boy. Robert says "I was a master shoplifter when I was a kid. "I was always hungry" continues Boog. But my mom eventually asked me for the receipts. she knew and put a stop to  it. Again, he didn't want to disappoint his mom. Robert's a smart guy. As a kid he skipped a few grades with the support of one of his older sisters. He got a scholarship to USLA  and graduated with a BA in Literature . He's written a few books, including real estate books as well as "Shakey's Madness - Does  A Mental Disorder Reveal The Real William Shakespeare" and "Hang Shakespeare. Robert also likes to dabble in song writing. As the 5th of the 9 kids, smack dab in the middle, Robert became a good negotiator. He shares some fun stories of what it was like at the dinner table and who had what chores and responsibilities. Joan had a profound impact on her son.  So much so, that he's still successfully running the business that she started way back when. She offered her son a ticket to go see the legendary sales trainer/realtor, Tom Hopkins, and it changed Robert's life. He realized that there was quite a bit more to real estate than he thought. Fortunately or unfortunately it was out of fear that motivated Joan to start working when Robert was a teen. Due to traumatic family circumstances, she realized that she needed to get a job. Ruth was one year old when she and her family arrived in the United States from Wertheim am Main, Germany in 1938 according to Jonathan Ramsfelder, Ruth's son. A time of confusion, despair and relief,  yet so much regret for members of her  family that were left behind to the inevitable Nazi genocide of European Jews.  Ruth was the last Jewish baby born in Wertheim am Main.Ruth's family was upper middle class cattle dealers in Germany yet once in the US, they lived in poverty and worked whatever jobs they could to provide for the family including manuel labor as  maids, painters, dishwashers, etc. "Regardless of their hardship, they were loving and sought happiness," declares Ramsfelder.  " Mom grew up in  a very structured environment while being raised by two traumatized refugees." Jonathan continues with wonder as he shares the stories that have been repeated to him over the years. He's amazed at how his "maternal grandparents were lovely and embracing of life," in spite of their hardships. "The family educated themselves and embraced each other," continues Jonathan. Ruth went to school through high school and her son feels that she's one of the most intelligent people he knows. Had she been born at a different time, Jonathan believes that she would have been able to accomplish great things and work at a Fortune 500 company and more. Even though her son knows that "his mom suffered from her past, she was often demonstrating gratitude and contentment-they are my mom's hallmarks."  According to Jonathan, "Ruth is his role model and she's very instrumental in him becoming who he is today. She's outgoing and loves to meet people, she's put together cognitively, a reader of people and great at getting advice- not a judge of people." Ruth was steadfast in her optimistic ways, bound to be grateful and appreciative as well as inquisitive. Jonathan knew from an early age that based on his parents past and the trauma they had endured, he would never be able to disappoint them. Instead he says "that he used his parents experience as a source of encouragement  and ambition."So many wonderful life lessons to learn from my conversation with Jonathan about his  mother, Ruth. Pattie was a strong woman through and through. She learned everything she knew about raising and caring for animals and growing crops from her parents  and the land she grew up on.  Because of her experience on the farm plus her ability to drive and operate farm machinery, etc, she was available to help out her country during WWII. This enabled her to be active during the Land Army, in New Zealand. Josh shares how she had a wonderful sense of humor (Irish family roots), taught Josh how to sew, cook, play cards, knit and so much more. Josh willingly admits that he was a mama's boy and as he says he "hung onto her apron strings."As Josh was getting ready to move away from home for a new job, he was desperate to share a very personal story with his mother. She'd already survived breast cancer shortly after her was born, but now the cancer was back. She refused chemo and radiation, so Josh was afraid this might me the last time he'd see his mother. Just as he was about to go out the door, he spoke to his mother and revealed what he'd been hiding inside for decades.  She was un perplexed and finished his statement before he had a chance to share what he wanted to say.  That was just a little bit of the magic of Pattie.She regularly took care of her neighbors. Whether because of an illness or just in need of company, she was always there to help other. Pattie was also very curious, especially regarding her friends and neighbors in this rural farming area. Internationally recognized neuroscientist Aileen Anderson – a professor of physical medicine & rehabilitation, anatomy & neurobiology and neurosurgery, and the former director of the Sue & Bill Gross Stem Cell Research Center – started her tenure as UC Irvine's vice chancellor for research on July 1. She had no opportunity to ease into her new, important role. In her first month at the helm, the federal government announced it was suspending approximately $584 million in funding from the National Science Foundation, National Institutes of Health and other agencies to UCLA, putting the entire UC system on alert for what might be next. In the months since, several federal court orders have restored vast amounts of those grants, but the situation remains in flux. On Aug. 21, Anderson hosted a town hall to address how federal funding suspensions impact UC Irvine. To make clear her position, her campuswide emails offering updates to the latest developments all end with this quote: “The Office of Research and I stand with our research community. Today we were thrilled to host Julien Dumoulin-Smith, Managing Director of U.S. Power, Utilities, and Clean Energy Research at Jefferies. Julien joined the firm in July 2024 after serving as a Senior Research Analyst at Bank of America Merrill Lynch and as an Executive Director at UBS. He holds an MBA and a B.S. in Applied Mathematics from Columbia University. Institutional Investor magazine has ranked Julien as a #1 double-ranked analyst in both Utilities and Alternative/Clean Energy, and he was inducted into the II Hall of Fame for his cumulative accomplishments. It was our pleasure to welcome Julien to our office and hear his thoughtful perspectives on the ever-evolving energy and power landscape. In our discussion, we explore Julien's coverage universe, which he describes as “the full electron and derivatives landscape” spanning utilities, IPPs, renewables, gas plants, industrial adjacencies, and service providers. We discuss the influx of new investors entering power and utilities, Julien's observation that the biggest surprise isn't data center proliferation, but rather how tech companies are paying premiums for power to secure supply, and how utilities once seen as “defensive” are now showing growth characteristics. We touch on the tension between tech companies' need for rapid, large-scale power and their reluctance to become capital-intensive or FERC-regulated, why we're not seeing more long-term offtakes with existing power plants and how state level politics play into it, and how legacy players, new entrants, and regulators are all adapting to a power market being reshaped by AI demand, infrastructure bottlenecks, and novel deal structures. Julien shares that rising inflation across the economy is showing up in utility bills and expresses concern that LNG developers or data centers could be scapegoated for higher gas and power prices. He highlights the parabolic rise in the value of capacity and reliability, the drivers of power inflation including turbine shortages and rising capital costs, whether utilities are properly incentivized to control costs, the role of demand-response mechanisms, and how regulatory and state-level actions are shaping markets. We cover power market scenarios for high and low demand cases, the role of innovation in batteries, fuel cells, and other technologies, and the tension between patching existing systems versus building large-scale infrastructure. We also discuss constraints on ramping renewables, the growing influence of behind-the-meter power, implications for Q3 earnings, and much more. The 10-year bond yield continues to trade sideways at ~4.1% with economic reports on pause until the government reopens. Internationally, Japan's Liberal Democratic Party elected Sanae Takaichi (who is viewed as fiscally expansionary), which some believe increases the risk of an unwind of the long-standing Yen carry trade. The S&P 500 is up roughly 80bps since the government shutdown, with Healthcare and Technology outperforming. He highlighted AMD's chip deal with OpenAI, which added roughly $70B in market cap, and Oracle's pullback on AI cloud margin concerns. On the crude oil market front, WTI price has increased modestly this week due to OPEC+ announcing a smaller than expected ~135kbpd oil production increase for November. While this could widen the 2026 surplus, traders are weighing when and how prices might react amid limited OPEC spare capacity. In this installment of Sasquatch Tracks, the team reunites after a short hiatus to remember the life and work of a pair of icons in the field of anthropology, with the passing of Dr. Jeffrey Meldrum and Dr. Jane Goodall.  Dr. Jane Morris Goodall, renowned primatologist, ethologist, and conservationist, dedicated her life to expanding humanity's understanding of the natural world and its profound interconnections. Dr. Jane Goodall was not only as a scientist but a humanitarian and moral leader, whose legacy endures in every forest preserved, every animal protected, and every young mind awakened to wonder. Her passing marks the end of an extraordinary era in science and environmental stewardship. Dr. Jeffrey “Jeff” Meldrum (1958–2025) was a renowned American anthropologist and professor at Idaho State University, best known for his work on primate locomotion, foot morphology, and the evolution of human bipedalism. At Idaho State, Meldrum taught anatomy, evolution, and primatology and conducted research into evolutionary morphology, with special emphasis on how the foot evolved to support upright walking in hominins. However, Meldrum was best known as one of the most prominent scientists to engage seriously with the Bigfoot (Sasquatch) topic, publishing Sasquatch: Legend Meets Science and curating a large collection of footprint casts—while remaining committed to applying scientific rigor to controversial claims, in work that drew both admiration and critique as he straddled the boundary between mainstream anthropology and cryptozoology. Dr. Meldrum passed away on September 10, 2025, following a brief battle with brain cancer at age 67. We celebrate the life, and discuss the work of these two great luminaries in science, on this very special episode of Sasquatch Tracks. My guest is the oldest of two daughters, with seven years between she and her younger sister. Mina was working the night shift at a factory, when she was pregnant with her first daughter.  Parita shares that her mom used to let she and her sister explore as much as they needed when they were young. Both daughters were pushed academically and socially, but the girls found comfort in the fact that there mom would be there if ever they needed her. Mina was the oldest of four daughters. Parita's Maternal Grandfather said, "God didn't give me a son but he gave me the strongest daughters." Parita continues saying "her mother has experienced grief , being misunderstood  because she's a strong, capable, ambitious woman who's not afraid to speak her mind when she sees injustice." "It's taught me me that you have to be who your are. You have to come to the table with who you are, " commented Parita.Enjoy this listen.
