Building Confidence Through Evidence
I shared about Christ's ‘Glory and Honor' in the last podcast. I'd like to spend a few moments on His ‘Power' in this one.
I'd like to take a few minutes to expand a bit on the last podcast.
“Therefore if there is any consolation in Christ, if any comfort of love, if any fellowship of the Spirit, if any affection and mercy, fulfill my joy by being like-minded, having the same love, being of one accord, of one mind.” Philippians 2:1-2
“For to you it has been granted on behalf of Christ, not only to believe in Him, but also to suffer for His sake, having the same conflict which you saw in me and now hear is in me.” Philippians 1:29-30
The next aspect I'd like to share with you is the ‘fruit‘ of the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

“And this I pray, that your love may abound still more and more in knowledge and all discernment …” Philippians 1:9

“… being confident of this very thing, that He who has begun a good work in you will complete it until the day of Jesus Christ.” Philippians 1:6
“I thank my God upon every remembrance of you, always in every prayer of mine making request for you all with joy, for your fellowship in the gospel from the first day until now.” Philippians 1:3-5
Philippians 1:7 – ‘just as it is right for me to think this of you all, because I have you in my heart, inasmuch as both in my chains and in the defense and confirmation of the gospel, you all are partakers with me of grace.'
You are saved and learning how to study the Bible. You are learning the ‘rules' God established for those who serve Him. Wonderful! What are you learning about what happens next? It's fairly simple.
When Paul knew that his days on earth were numbered and he would not get out of prison to start any more churches, he wrote one final letter. We know it as 2 Timothy. When a man knows his life is coming to an end and he has important things to share, we often find those things in his final words. That's why I chose 2 Timothy for this series.
Now that we know how to be saved, how to study the Bible, and the importance of serving God – let's look at the process of doing just that – serving God. I'm going to share with you 40 Rules for Christian Ministry. I did not make up these rules. They come directly from the Apostle Paul, which means they come directly from God.

Whether you are a new Christian or have been saved for years, there's something you MUST do – learn how to study the Bible. I developed eight rules for Bible study through years of doing it, so I'd like to share with you what's worked well for me. The Gospels are documents that serve as a “proof of life” for Jesus Christ. The writings of the apostles, who knew Jesus personally, are also proof-of-life documents.
One of the most powerful truth claims of Christianity is that hundreds of people saw Jesus of Nazareth alive after His resurrection from the dead. Hundreds. Let that sink in for a minute. Not one. Not two. Not ten. Hundreds of eyewitnesses.

Mormonism is either true or it's not. That's an objective statement. That's thinking that corresponds with reality and facts. A subjective statement would be that Mormonism may be true for you but not for me. That's thinking that does not correspond with reality or facts.

Having been in Christian ministry for more than half a century I've had the opportunity to watch the Church go through a variety of changes. These changes have affected the Church's perspective on truth, worship, and the need for evangelism. It's also impacted the way many church leaders view Christian apologetics (Faith defense). We now seem to be going through another ‘change,' so I'd like to address that with you ever so briefly.
The question we raised at the beginning of this series is whether angels speak to people today. Are those claims real? If real, how can we know that encounters we have are really with angels? If they are angels, how can we know if they are they good angels or bad angels? If we do hear from an angel, how should we respond to what they say?
