Kinsella on Liberty Podcast: Episode 490. This is my interview by Cody Cook (@CantusFirmusCC) of the Libertarian Christian Institute (@LCIOfficial), whose show I've been on previously, (( KOL388 | Cantus Firmus with Cody Cook: Against Intellectual Property. )) and whose book, Faith Seeking Freedom: Libertarian Christian Answers to Tough Questions, I endorsed, to discuss my recent book Rothbard at 100: A Tribute and Assessment (2026). Episode: Rothbard at 100: Why His Ideas Still Matter, with Stephan Kinsella (May 22, 2026 (recorded May 5, 2026)). Cody was an excellent interviewer, which is one reason I think this was one of my most comfortable and relaxed performances ever. https://youtu.be/VrxyNvzTonE?si=YWammoXzdzEmFfJo From his longer article Rothbard at 100: Why His Ideas Still Matter, with Stephan Kinsella (May 22, 2026): *** If he hadn't passed away in 1995, Murray Rothbard would have turned one hundred this year. Why do his ideas still endure, inspire, and provoke? The answer isn't nostalgia. It's that Rothbard's ideas continue to shape libertarian thought, economics, and the case for a free society in ways few thinkers ever have. His influence is visible in the modern liberty movement, in the resurgence of Austrian economics, and in the ongoing debates about property, the state, and intellectual freedom. Stephan Kinsella (@NSKinsella), co-editor of the new book Rothbard at 100, joins Cody Cook to explain why Rothbard's legacy endures. The episode argues that Rothbard still matters because he built a framework that remains indispensable for understanding political economy, human action, and the moral limits of state power. The Case for Rothbard: Ten Reasons Why Rothbard Still Matters 1. Rothbard helped define the modern libertarian movement Rothbard stands at the foundation of the post‑war libertarian tradition, synthesizing Austrian economics, natural rights theory, and radical anti‑statism into a coherent worldview. The episode argues that without him, the movement would lack its intellectual backbone. This is one of the core reasons Rothbard still matters: he built the architecture others now inhabit. 2. He systematized libertarianism into a full philosophy Where earlier thinkers offered fragments, Rothbard produced treatises. Man, Economy, and State, Power and Market, and The Ethics of Liberty form a unified system of economics, ethics, and political theory. That system continues to anchor libertarian scholarship. 3. Rothbard advanced Austrian economics beyond Mises Rothbard didn't merely popularize Mises; he extended him. His corrections to monopoly theory and his insistence that state‑created privilege—not market structure—is the real source of monopoly remain central to Austrian analysis. This refinement is one of the reasons Rothbard still matters for anyone studying markets and state intervention. 4. He embraced radical conclusions others avoided Rothbard took the logic of liberty to its endpoint: anarcho‑capitalism. Even those who reject that conclusion must grapple with his arguments. His willingness to follow principles to their logical end continues to challenge libertarians who prefer half‑measures. 5. His contract theory remains groundbreaking Kinsella argues that Rothbard's “title‑transfer theory of contract,” is one of his most overlooked achievements. It reframes contracts not as promises but as transfers of property titles. This innovation still shapes libertarian legal theory and is a key reason Rothbard still matters in debates about consent, obligation, and ownership. 6. Rothbard influenced the thinkers who influence us Hans‑Hermann Hoppe, one of the most important living libertarian theorists, was one of Rothbard's closest students. The intellectual lineage from Mises → Rothbard → Hoppe forms a framework Kinsella calls “indispensable.” Understanding that lineage is essential for understanding today's liberty movement. 7. He built institutions that still shape the movement Rothbard helped launch the Mises Institute and mentored scholars who now lead major libertarian organizations. His institutional legacy ensures that his ideas continue to shape research, education, and activism. 8. Rothbard's historical works remain unmatched Conceived in Liberty and his Austrian Perspective on the History of Economic Thought demonstrate a breadth few libertarian thinkers have matched. His historical method—tracing ideas, incentives, and power—still informs how libertarians analyze political development. 9. His mistakes sharpened later libertarian theory The episode doesn't hide Rothbard's errors, especially on intellectual property. Kinsella argues that Rothbard's missteps helped clarify why scarcity, not creation, grounds property rights. Even his mistakes are reasons Rothbard still matters, because they pushed the theory forward. 10. Rothbard's work remains accessible and alive The new Rothbard at 100 Festschrift—featuring scholars who knew him and those shaped by him—shows that his ideas continue to inspire serious scholarship. The fact that this book exists is itself a reason Rothbard still matters: his intellectual world is still expanding. Conclusion Rothbard still matters because he built something durable. His synthesis of Austrian economics, natural rights, and radical anti‑statism remains the most coherent framework for understanding liberty. The episode argues that his influence is not a relic but a living force shaping how libertarians think about property, the state, and human action. Kinsella's case is that Rothbard's work forms part of an indispensable triad with Mises and Hoppe. That framework continues to guide scholars, pastors, activists, and anyone seeking a principled defense of a free society. The reasons Rothbard still matters are not sentimental—they are structural. His ideas continue to do real work in the world. April 24, 2026 - Equipped 2026 - Day 2 - 2:30 PM Session Join a seasoned panel of speakers including Todd, John, Denny, Howard, and references to Brother Wayne Jackson, Brother Caleb Colley, O'Connor, Mike, with Sam Wilkins closing in prayer, as they tackle difficult questions from the book of Genesis. This episode investigates foundational topics that stretch from the opening words of Scripture to the unfolding scheme of redemption. First, the panel examines how literally we should read the days of creation in Genesis 1. Speakers discuss the Hebrew term yom, Exodus 20:11, arguments for a 24‑hour day reading, and how that view interacts with science and young‑earth apologetics. They address the perception that literal biblical faith opposes science and point listeners to resources and evidence used by creationist scholars. Next, the conversation moves to troubling narratives of judgment in Genesis—such as the global flood and the destruction of Sodom and Gomorrah—and how these events relate to God's holiness, justice, love, and wrath. Panelists unpack why divine judgment is not arbitrary, emphasize God's patience and long‑suffering (including Noah's 120 years of warning), and explain how love and righteous anger can coexist. The discussion then focuses on the tree of the knowledge of good and evil and whether God set humanity up to fail. Panelists outline four purposes of the tree: enabling genuine devotion, inviting trust, establishing moral boundaries, and defining God's role as Lawgiver. They argue the tree provides a real context for moral freedom rather than a trap. Listeners will also hear reflections on Genesis as a record of human failure alongside divine faithfulness. Using examples like Cain and Abel, Abraham's struggles, Jacob's deception, and Joseph's long wait, the panel shows how Genesis portrays flawed people candidly while demonstrating God's covenantal loyalty and redemptive work through imperfect agents. Finally, the episode addresses how to maintain trust in God's promises when fulfillment is delayed. Speakers reflect on biblical timeframes (Abraham, Joseph), New Testament perspectives (2 Peter), and practical pastoral insights for patience and spiritual growth during waiting seasons. Practical takeaways include ways to engage skeptics respectfully, resources for further study, and pastoral encouragement that Genesis aims to reveal God's character—both his justice and his mercy—while inviting listeners into deeper trust. The session closes with a prayer from Sam Wilkins and information about follow‑up sessions and worship led by Andy Baker. Duration 42:08
DESCRIPTION Former Democrat solicitor David Pascoe joins Tara for a fiery interview after resurfaced clips show him endorsing Joe Biden and campaigning for Democrats. Now running in the Republican primary for South Carolina Attorney General, Pascoe defends his political past, claims corruption runs deep in Columbia, and says both parties tried to stop his investigations. Tara presses him hard on trust, conservatism, and whether GOP voters should believe his transformation. EPISODE SUMMARY Today's show dives headfirst into South Carolina politics as attorney general candidate David Pascoe faces intense scrutiny over his past support for Democrats, including Joe Biden and Todd Rutherford. Pascoe argues his actions were strategic moves to preserve corruption investigations tied to powerful lawmakers in Columbia. Tara challenges him on whether Republican voters can trust someone with such deep Democrat ties, while Pascoe insists his conservative values and anti-corruption record speak for themselves. The conversation covers judicial reform, corruption inside South Carolina government, the state grand jury probe, and growing tensions within the Republican Party between establishment figures and grassroots conservatives. It's one of the most confrontational political interviews of the campaign season. February 22, 2026 - Sunday PM Service Join hosts Neal and Hiram for a focused Q&A session that digs into ten submitted questions about Heaven, Scripture, and practical Christian living. The discussion centers on what believers will do in Heaven (Revelation, 1 Corinthians 15, 2 Peter 3:13), the nature of the new heaven and new earth, and connections between the pre‑sin world and the eternal state. Other topics include Old Testament passages and modern issues—Deuteronomy 22:5, Genesis, and New Testament teachings on gender distinctions; whether Leviticus 19:27–28 prohibits tattoos or cosmetic surgery; and the role of parental authority and conscience in such personal decisions. Textual criticism and biblical reliability are explained through the example of John 5:3–4 (the angel troubling the waters), with an accessible overview of manuscript evidence and how translations handle variants. The panel also addresses questions about the intermediate state and consciousness after death (Luke 23:43; Luke 16), the meaning of Deuteronomy 28:43 in Israel's blessings and curses, and why educated people sometimes miss the simple New Testament pattern for salvation. Practical church questions receive clear biblical treatment: why some oppose eating in the building (context of 1 Corinthians 11 and early house churches), whether Christians must sing in worship (Ephesians 5:19; Colossians 3:16), and how much a Christian should give—contrasting Old Covenant percentages with New Testament principles from 2 Corinthians 8–9 (grace, cheerful and proportionate giving, and spiritual growth). Throughout the episode Neal and Hiram emphasize a Scripture‑rooted approach—"speak where the Bible speaks and be silent where it is silent"—and encourage listeners to examine their spiritual condition. The program closes with an invitation to respond to the gospel and practical guidance for those who need to repent, be baptized, or seek prayer and fellowship. Duration 47:46

Send us a textIn this episode of The FORGE Truth Podcast, Pete Alwinson and Jayson Quiñones continue their apologetics series by tackling two of the most common and emotionally charged questions Christians face today. Why would a good and loving God allow people to go to hell? And how can the Bible be true when Christians disagree on so many doctrines and interpretations?Rather than offering shallow or defensive answers, this conversation goes deep into Scripture, the character of God, human responsibility, the meaning of heaven and hell, and the role of humility in biblical interpretation. Pete and Jayson explore how apologetics serves evangelism, why the cross must always remain central, and how unity around core truths allows Christians to disagree without abandoning faithfulness. This episode equips men to think clearly, speak truth with love, and engage tough conversations without fear, compromise, or intellectual shortcuts.

Mike Gioseffi and Jesse Gibson open the show with a beginner-friendly guide to entering the sports card hobby. They cover how to approach breaks, what research actually matters, and where the line really is between cleaning a card and altering it. Upper Deck President Jason Masherah then joins the show for an unfiltered conversation about the state of the hobby. He dives into card pricing, how wealthy collectors influence spending, and why manipulation goes far beyond shill bidding. Jason also explains the tension between serving collectors and answering to shareholders, why Upper Deck doesn't sell hobby boxes direct on its site, the realities behind products like The Cup, and the realities of breaking scams. He sticks around for mailbag questions covering Scotty Scheffler card possibilities, how ePack actually works, and why certain products are designed specifically for hobby-first buyers. After Jason signs off, Mike and Jesse tackle more mailbag questions on anonymous eBay sales, what could spark the hobby's next downturn, and the long-term impact of high-end releases.
