Justin from 1UPMMA.com will discuss anything and everything MMA
Joe Pyfer's story and message are so motivating, and the motto "Be Joe Pyfer" may be easily translated into "Be Yourself." I talk about his motivational run in this quick hitter.
A quick episode at work discussing my thoughts on a possible rematch between Leon Edwards and Belal Muhammad
Just wanted to express how thrilled I was that Austin Marr fulfilled a goal we had discussed for years—to cover an MMA event live. Austin's diligence paid off when he was granted MMA media credentials for UFC Nashville.
I talk about how thrilled I am that Julianna Peña is switching to full-on heel mode. Whether you love her or hate her, she doesn't give a damn because she wants to win the world championship once more. I do veer off topic, but that's what makes MMA so incredible.
Regarding Jim Miller and the UFC Hall of Fame, I express my personal perspective. Regardless of my decision, Jim Miller has always been a thrilling fighter.
A new episode of Quick Hitter from Mr. Inconsistent is available. I talk about a variety of MMA things, including the reasons that season three was delayed. Happy listening, and many thanks.
I discuss the up-and-coming trilogy fight between Kamaru Usman and Leon Edwards. Also, I give details on the topic for Season 3.
For the UFC 285 main event between Jon Jones and Ciryl Gane, I make my prediction in this quick hitter.
I talk about my reaction to the news of the new coaches for the upcoming season of The Ultimate Fighter as well as how I think the matchup will go.
With Jon Jones returning to the UFC to fight Ciryl Gane for the heavyweight title at UFC 285, I discuss how I feel Curtis Blaydes is overlooked and may have been a better choice to have gotten the money fight with Jones.
I have to talk about this fight card because I truly liked Bellator vs. Rizin. While recording the episode I encountered a few technical issues, but I believe everything turned out okay in the end. For a wonderful podcast addressing this fantastic event, listen to The Unified Rules of Podcast Episode 43 - Bellator vs Rizin
With two legendary light heavyweight fighters in Tito Ortiz and Rampage Jackson, I bring a Season 2 of Dream Fights to a close. For some fight fans, including myself, this would have been a wonderful throwback match, but the dream will live on.
I resolve to be more consistent in the coming year. The podcast game is entertaining, and with such a thrilling fight season ahead of us, this year should be fantastic for discussing fights.
Another quick hitter episode as they are kind of fun to do. In this one, I talk about the UFC Paris main event between Ciryl Gane and Tai Tuivasa.
Just a quick episode to talk Demetrious Johnson winning the ONE Championship flyweight title by knocking out Adriano Moraes in the fourth round of their rematch.
The dream fight discussion continues with episode five. Brock Lesnar vs. Fedor Emelianenko is an exciting dream match up that will always be one of those “what if” type fights. Sorry I sound tired - the aftermath from UFC 278 was too much excitement haha!
Fedor Emelianenko vs. Randy Couture may have been halted by the business side of the sport, which stopped this dream fight from happening, but what we can all agree on is that this fight would have been one that was talked about until the end of time.
Gina Carano vs. Ronda Rousey might be the dream fight that, if done correctly around UFC 219, we could have seen a cross promotion between WWE and the UFC while also promoting The Fast and the Furious movies. It might be the biggest bummer of a fight not happening on the list of dream fights, for me.
The first Dream Fight that is exciting for me in Season 2 is Aldo vs. Cruz. Out of all the Dream Fights in this season, it is a fight that could potentially happen before they end their decorated careers.
In this episode I discuss the negativity around Israel Adesanya as he defended his middleweight title successfully at UFC 276.
This is a quick little intro to get the ball rolling with Season Two: Dream Fights. Once again, Season Two will have 8 episodes. Thanks for Listening!
Just some insight on how I fell in love with the beautiful sport of Mixed Martial Arts. This is my fight fan origin story.
I talk about Yancy Medeiros' win at his Bellator 279 homecoming in Hawaii and how special it was. It was super awesome that Bellator and Scott Coker took a chance on Yancy to complete inside a cage in front of his family and friends. Very inspiring to hear the fans give him a huge welcome as he walked to the cage.
Have a listen to my quick Bellator 277 recap. Decent event from Bellator, but it sucks that the two main fights ended in controversy.
In this episode of my podcast, I go over UFC 273 with a quick recap.
I feel Belal Muhammad is being counted out and overlooked as a top contender. In his rematch against Vicente Luque, I feel he could show the world how ready he is for his shot at UFC gold. On this podcast, I discuss Belal and this exciting rematch!
I have been a long-time fan of collecting UFC posters and decided to discuss various fight graphics and which ones were my favourite on this instalment of the podcast.
Call it being a fan boy, but in my opinion John Gooden is one of the best commentators that the UFC has, and it shows every fight card. This episode has me explaining why I am a huge fan!
Getting the podcast back on track with a recap of UFC London. What an event we witnessed - I highly recommend giving it a watch if you haven't already!
I finally made it to the end of the first season. This is just a wrap up episode. Thank you all for listening. Onto Season 2: Dream Fights!
Quick chat about Glover Teixeira's win at UFC 267 which I predicted in episode 4 ;). Congrats Glover, you deserve it! Thank you for showing the world that if you follow your dreams, anything is possible! #inspiration #inspirationalquotes #gloverteixeira
Since Paul Craig's victory at UFC 263, the fight that is exciting for me to see is Paul Craig against Dominick Reyes. A fantasy fight for sure, but would be sick if I was predicting these bad ass matchups!
In Episode 5, I discuss a “what if?” question - what if Fedor Emelianenko was a Light Heavyweight? Also, I talk about what match ups would have been great to see.
In Episode 4, I discuss the Bellator Light Heavyweight tournament. I also talk about my predictions on who I think will win between UFC’s Jan Blachowicz and Glover Teixeira.
Episode Three features guest Austin Marr and we discuss the UFC Light Heavyweight Division - past, present, and future - and much, much more. It’s always a pleasure talking fights with Austin!
I return with Episode 2 to discuss dream matchups I would liked to have seen in the light heavyweight division.
I’m starting off with a new concept to stay consistent with podcasting content. This episode kicks off by introducing the topic for what Season One has in store, which will be eight episodes discussing anything and everything related to the Light Heavyweight division. If you happen to listen, thank you - and I hope you enjoy Season One!
Justin from Cagesidepress.com and Austin Marr from @AustinMarrMMA reunite from their 1up MMA days to discuss a potential fight between Colby Covington and Jorge Masvidal.
