We love doing “classics” episodes. And since The Catcher in the Rye is turning 75 this year, it seems that lots of folks in the book world are talking about it and we thought we would hop on board. Our two distinguished guests for this conversation are Kenneth Slawenski, one of the world's foremost historians on J.D. Salinger, and Stephen B. Shepard, a magazine editor who penned a fascinating book on the complexities of Salinger's character. We hope you will join us in thinking about how our readings of Catcher in the Rye change over the years, and how the novel continues to touch the souls of so many readers. IndyCar's debut in Markham Ontario was WILD to say the least. We had on-track activities delayed, drivers pushing (and finding) the limits and full on physicality. Conor Daly was in Ontario to take in the action, and he joins Producer Bobby this week for a new episode of Speed Street. The guys recap the drama from the weekend and debate the polarizing hairpin turn, which had racers and spectators at odds. They also look ahead to this coming weekend in Washington D.C. and make some podium picks. Race winner Marcus Ericsson joins the show to chat about his team's gamble to refuel late in the race. Marcus explains he realized he had speed in the car early on and felt like he could make his way back to the front on the last stint. He also weighs in on the hairpin turn debate, stating he can see it both ways from both driver and fan perspectives. Hosted by Simplecast, an AdsWizz company. STREAMING MAKING JOHN BATCHELOR SHOW, 7-22-2026.1900 CALDWELL IDAHOThe provided transcript captures a behind-the-scenes and live broadcast dialogue from The John Bachelor Show, where the host and guests analyze global geopolitical instability and economic shifts. A primary focus is the emergence of the World Artificial Intelligence Cooperation Organization (WAICO), which the participants characterize as a strategic attempt by China to dominate international technological standards despite its own internal economic struggles. The conversation further examines a legislative push by the Democratic Socialists of America to reduce the United States nuclear triad, a move the guests label as dangerous unilateral disarmament. Additionally, the experts discuss the escalating conflict in the Middle East, specifically focusing on Houthi threats to maritime trade and the complex maneuvers of global superpowers in the region. Throughout the recording, the speakers emphasize the deteriorating state of the Chinese economy and the necessity for the United States to maintain its competitive edge in both military and technological sectors. This comprehensive overview illustrates the interconnected nature of modern warfare, emerging AI governance, and international energy markets.
STREAMING THE MAKING OF The JOHM BATCHELOR SHOW, 7-21-261903This transcript captures a discussion between John Batchelor and former Congressman Thaddeus McCarter regarding the geopolitical and domestic challenges facing the United States as it nears a midterm election. Internationally, the dialogue covers a variety of crises, including the outbreak of Ebola in Africa, military tensions with Iran and Hezbollah, and brewing trade disputes involving Canadian tariffs. Domestically, the speakers analyze how rising gasoline prices and inflation are shaping voter sentiment and impacting Republican strategy. They also address the internal fractures within both major parties, specifically the influence of MAGA loyalists on the right and Democratic Socialists on the left. Finally, the conversation critiques President Trump's fixation on the 2020 election, questioning whether such rhetoric hinders the party's future viability.
Ailish Forfar and Jesse Rubinoff start the week with a thought on the World Cup Final and the Blue Jays' celebratory weekend following the All-Star break, before being joined by Oliver Platt from OneSoccer (6:18). They discuss Spain's victory over Argentina and their dominant tournament, Canada's place in the FIFA rankings following their run, and what could be next for Lionel Messi following a potential final World Cup appearance. After the break, Ailish and Jesse continue the conversation about Canada's place in the soccer world before drafting Blue Jays who should be considered 'untouchable' ahead of the trade deadline. In this episode of Retail War Games, I am joined by Jim Umlauf, the founder of 4Knines. Jim is a fascinating operator who spent 20 years at the pharmaceutical giant Merck before pulling the ripcord to turn a weekend-warrior side hustle into a highly efficient, multi-million-dollar pet brand. We explore how Jim completely re-engineered traditional direct-to-consumer operations by shrinking his internal team down to just three full-time people and leveraging heavy intellectual property, including well over 20 patents. But the most mind-blowing part of this episode is how Jim is completely ahead of the curve on AI-driven shopping. He reveals how 4Knines is already generating nearly 10% of its entire revenue directly through large language models like ChatGPT and Perplexity as consumers shift from search engines to AI purchase agents. We also talk about his high-profile contract deals with auto giants like Ford and Mopar, and how to protect profit margins against volatile tariffs.
If you're a coach, health practitioner, podcaster, or service provider looking to hire a copywriter, you've likely asked yourself one critical question: How can a conversion copywriter capture my authentic voice when they're not me? This is the right question to ask because it means you genuinely care about authenticity. Many heart-centered entrepreneurs worry that hiring a conversion copywriter means outsourcing their voice. You don't want to trade your unique perspective, your actual way of speaking, and your values, for some generic, salesy version of themselves. And you don't have to. When you hire a conversion copywriter, you're investing in someone who becomes fluent in your brand voice. What most people don't realize is that a skilled conversion copywriter doesn't write for you. They write as you. And the best compliment is when even your spouse can't tell if I wrote it or you did!In this episode, we answer the three questions that matter most:How does a conversion copywriter actually get to know your authentic voice? (Spoiler: it's not through 50 pages of questionnaires.)What's the real process for capturing who you are in writing? (And why one hour per month of your time is all I need.)Can a conversion copywriter truly match your tone without losing the conversion power? (Yes. Keep reading to find out how.)This is for those who refuse to settle for watered-down, salesy copy. It's for business owners who know their voice is their unfair advantage, and they're ready to protect it while scaling their message.WHAT YOU'LL DISCOVER IN THIS EPISODEHow conversion copywriters identify and capture your authentic voice…without making you fill out a 50-page questionnaire (Spoiler: I consume your existing content instead of asking you to describe yourself).Find out how the DFY system works on just ONE hour of your time (because part of the ROI is saving you time!) Why outsourcing your copy will does NOT dilute your voice…and what actually determines whether a copywriter nails your brand (it's not what most people think).Discover the 3 ways I capture your authentic voice before writing a single word (including the one most copywriters skip). Why your voice is your unfair advantage in a market flooded with the same tools and templates…and what that means for your authority and conversion power.➡️ SHOW NOTES: Grab all the links and resources mentioned in this episode on the blog here! https://www.megankachigan.com/copywriter-strategies-to-match-your-authentic-voiceLET'S WORK TOGETHER: https://www.megankachigan.com/dfyCONNECT WITH MEGAN:Join My Inbox Community → www.megankachigan.com/email Website → www.megankachigan.comLinkedIn → https://www.linkedin.com/in/megan-kachigan-loehr-9957684b/Threads → https://www.threads.net/@megankachiganInstagram → https://www.instagram.com/megankachigan/Join the Why Isn't This Converting?" "That might be something that you see in a decade, not in two years of filming," Tara Stoinksi, CEO of the Dian Fossey Gorilla Fund, tells me. The behavior she's referring to occurs in mountain gorilla groups, such as a "dominance transfer," where a younger male silverback takes over leadership from an older male, and infanticide, where an outsider or ostracized gorilla kills the offspring of a new mother within the group. The former of these was captured on camera within days of filming for the new Netflix documentary A Gorilla Story: Told by David Attenborough. Stoinski joins the Mongabay Newscast to discuss her role as a scientific adviser on the years-long project, the rarity of the behaviors captured on camera, and her thoughts on gorilla conservation in the Greater Virunga Landscape of Rwanda, Uganda and the Democratic Republic of Congo. Steve reacts to Secretary of State Marco Rubio's speech in front of the Munich Security Conference and says his message is a perfect encapsulation of our historical moment (and a great example of Christ's second-greatest commandment). Then, rabbi and commentator Pesach Wolicki joins the program to provide the crew with a preview of the state of play in the Middle East and Israel ahead of their trip later this week. In Hour Two, the team examines two dueling graphics of religious polling data and says it's a sufficient encapsulation of the quagmire the American church finds itself in. Finally, Joe Mitchell, a Turning Point Action-endorsed congressional candidate from Iowa, joins the program to discuss his campaign.
