With Jim Norton out for the day, John Morgan fills in for his 10th appearance as a UFC Unfiltered co-host for an episode that features Angela Hill and Kelvin Gastelum calling in separately. Joining first is Hill, who discusses her mindset three days ahead of her fight against Ketlen Souza. Then, Kelvin Gastelum calls in days removed from the announcement that his five-round war with Israel Adesanya would be immortalized in the UFC Hall of Fame's Fight Wing. The TUF 17 winner reflects on his relationship with Chael Sonnen after discussing his upcoming fight and divulging his weight class plans for the foreseeable future.
Join Patti Katter and Patrick Miletich as they talk about Life & Healthy Living. Patrick is a former MMA fighter, podcaster, and entrepreneur who believes everyone should know how to defend themselves and respect others. He discovered the benefits of organics and antioxidants for improving respiratory health and endurance in martial arts. He also discusses the importance of eating organic plants and food for good health and the benefits of minerals like zinc and magnesium for cell function. This is Pat's second time joining us. We discuss: Here are the key ideas from the transcript: 1. Pat Miltic's background in solving his own respiratory issues as a child through natural means, which led him to work with athletes, military personnel, and eventually get into soil health. 2. The negative impact of the "green revolution" and the widespread use of synthetic chemicals, pesticides, and fertilizers in agriculture, which led to various health issues in Pat's family and community. 3. The observation of the rise of autism and the use of medications (similar to methamphetamines) to treat it, which raised concerns for Pat. 4. The realization that the food system is "poisoned" and the importance of understanding the inputs that go into growing the food we consume. 5. The idea that the environment and toxification of the environment directly impact genetic expression and human health, and the need to fix the environment first or fix the people first. 6. The importance of educating people about the solutions available to reverse DNA damage and restore health through natural means, rather than relying on synthetic chemicals and medications. 7. The importance of growing your own food, creating edible landscapes, and advocating for chemical-free neighborhoods and communities. 8. The specific products and protocols recommended by Pat, such as the mineral king life products, to support human health and regeneration. 9. The impact of synthetic substances and heavy metals on veterans and active-duty military personnel, and the need to address these issues. Patrick Jay Miletich is a retired American mixed martial artist and former sports commentator. He is known for his fights in the Ultimate Fighting Championship, where he became the first UFC Welterweight Champion and UFC 16 Welterweight Tournament Winner. On July 6, 2014, he was inducted into the UFC Hall of Fame. --- Support this podcast: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/wakeupwithpattikatter/support

Before the Golden Knights, Raiders, or Aces were even a gleam in our city's eye, the Ultimate Fighting Championship was our original hometown sport — homegrown local Dana White took it from an unregulated “human cockfight” to a multi-billion dollar industry that was even recently considered for inclusion in the Olympics. So today, co-host Dayvid Figler brings on a UFC legend to give us the insider's guide to how it all happened: Fighter, commentator, and podcast host Chael Sonnen talks about how the UFC evolved, the recent controversy over fighter pay, and why his epic 2010 fight against Anderson Silva (which will be inducted into the UFC Hall of Fame at T-Mobile Arena this weekend) kicked off a new “entertainment era” in MMA. Chael Sonnen is set to be inducted into the UFC Hall of Fame and so the MMA Fighting crew takes a look back at his extraordinary career, as DAMN! They Were Good celebrates “The Bad Guy.” For the first half of Sonnen's career, “The American Gangster” was an also-ran, a guy with an unexciting style who nobody cared about. He fell short in the UFC when he got the call and then came up short when he fought for the WEC middleweight title, and it looked for all the world like Sonnen would join the ranks of forgotten journeymen that fill MMA. But then something happened. Sonnen decided that anonymity wasn't good enough, and he changed his stars, incorporating pro-wrestling style bombast to make himself marketable. His fighting style never changed but his mic work did and suddenly, Sonnen was the biggest thing in the sport, kicking up a rivalry with Anderson Silva that defined the early 2010s of MMA. And while Sonnen never ultimately won a major title in MMA, he did leave an indelible impression on the combat sports world. What were our favorite moments and the best highlights from Sonnen's career? How did Sonnen pull off this incredible turnaround? And who exactly is Homer Moore? There's something that just feels right when the UFC is in Brazil and the fights are great! We hope everyone had a great weekend, but it's time to get to it! We start the episode off with a bit of unfortunate news regarding the podcast. Due to our lives's schedules and the ever-growing number of fights, we've decided to step away from weekly podcasting. This isn't us quitting as much as it is us getting a chance to figure out what will work best for all of us to continue to talk and fight with you all. While also still enjoying our own lives as we do this for free. We go more in-depth, but long story short, we will still be making IG, TikTok, and YouTube content, just taking a hiatus from the podcast on the weekly schedule that we've upheld for the better part of 2 years. I know that's a lot, but I promise we'll move into fun fight talk after. From there, we jump into our full UFC 301 recap. Starting off, we talk about Alexandre Pantoja's decision victory over Steve Erceg. We go at length about what could be next for Pantoja and the other contenders in the division. Next, we move into the co-main, which featured the return of the King of Rio, Jose Aldo, and man did he have a return! We have to discuss the idea of him returning to the UFC, as this was the last fight on his contract. We even talk about the possible route for him to get back to a title shot. Moving on, we give a full recap of the rest of the main card and some standout performances on the prelims, as Brazil's talent had a great showing! Next, we give our picks and predictions for UFC St. Louis, headlined by Derrick Lewis vs. Rodrigo Nascimento. We also previewed the co-main event of Joaquin Buckley and Nursulton Ruziboev. Lastly, we covered the news, which was light, but we talked about Shogun entering the UFC Hall of Fame, some fight announcements, and more. Like always, please be sure to like, comment, rate, and subscribe. And again, please give us a little grace as we take this short break. With huge PPVs coming up, there's no way we can stay away for long!

DAMN! They Were Good celebrates the careers of the most exciting and influential fighters in MMA history. On this episode, the MMA Fighting crew looks back on the legendary career of Robbie Lawler, the most exciting fighter ever to step into a cage. Lawler began his MMA career in 2001 and for the next 22 years, "Ruthless" made it his mission to provide as much entertainment as humanly possible for anyone watching. On top of his numerous other accolades, most notably holding the UFC welterweight title from 2014 to 2016, Lawler is the only person in history to win Fight of the Year three times (consecutively, no less). On top of that, two of those bouts - his fights with Carlos Condit and Rory MacDonald - are widely viewed as the two greatest bouts in MMA history. That would be more than enough for any fighter but Lawler added one final cherry to the top of his peerless resume, authoring the best retirement in UFC history with his 38-second knockout of Niko Price in his final bout at UFC 290. There is no single fighter that better speaks to what DAMN is all about, and so in honor of his recent retirement and induction into the UFC Hall of Fame, MMA Fighting's Jed Meshew, Shaheen Al-Shatti, and Steven Marrocco look back on the career of the most exciting fighter to ever live.
