Waiting isn't wasted time—it's where God shapes your character, reveals what still needs to die, exposes who's really aligned with your destiny, and prepares you for a future only He could write.
Have you ever had a holiday hangover? No, I am not referring to the kind you might get from staying out too late or having one too many drinks. I mean how you feel after all the build-up of Christmas- the preparation, the cooking, the eating, opening of presents, and racing to parties- comes to an end often leaving you a little tired, a good bit in debt, and emotionally beat down. Several years ago, a woman with nine and a half decades of experience gave me some advice to help prevent that type of hangover from starting in the first place. Let me explain.
You can't lead powerfully if you are secretly at war with yourself. In this episode, I am unpacking what I have been seeing inside rooms full of incredible female leaders at organisations around the globe, and why so many of us are still holding ourselves back from the roles, recognition and rewards we say we want. We talk about: • Why women are five times less likely to self promote than men • How imposter syndrome shows up for women in leadership • The difference between blaming “the system” and taking radical responsibility • Showing up, standing up and speaking up, even when it feels uncomfortable • Why confidence is really about self trust, and how you build it in real life By the end of this episode, you will be brutally clear on where you are shrinking, where you are fighting yourself, and what needs to change if you truly want to step into leadership and be seen. ❤️ If this landed, share it with a woman in leadership who needs the reminder, and come tell me your biggest takeaway on Instagram @thequeenofconfidence https://www.instagram.com/thequeenofconfidence

Django now includes a built-in Tasks framework for running code outside the HTTP request–response cycle. Fix common misspellings in text files. It's designed primarily for checking misspelled words in source code (backslash escapes are skipped), but it can be used with other files as well. It does not check for word membership in a complete dictionary, but instead looks for a set of common misspellings. Therefore it should catch errors like "adn", but it will not catch "adnasdfasdf". It shouldn't generate false-positives when you use a niche term it doesn't know about. Extras Brian: Is mkdocs maintained? It was the main product from Gauge which is a Y combinator startup that pivoted to something unrelated and abandoned tach. However, https://github.com/DetachHead forked it but now got access to the main repo and has committed to maintaining it. ruff analyze graph is fully independent of tach - we actually started to look into alternatives for tach when it became unmaintained and then found ruff analyze graph. A Parenting Resource for Children’s Behavior and Mental Health
Parenting a child who goes from calm to chaos in seconds can feel exhausting. You try everything—deep breaths, gentle words, even walking away—and still, the meltdowns come. You're not alone. When kids struggle with big emotions, there's often a hidden root cause inside the body—and minerals play a much bigger role than most parents realize. In this episode, I sit down with Dr. Aaron Hartman to unpack the powerful connection between minerals, mitochondria, and meltdowns—and how nutrition, lifestyle, and nervous system regulation can help your child regain balance and calm. Why does my child melt down when they're “just tired or hungry”?When your child seems to unravel at the smallest thing, it's not bad behavior—it's biology. Mineral imbalances directly affect how their nervous system fires.Low magnesium or zinc deficiency can make the brain more reactive to stress. When blood sugar drops from skipping meals or eating too many processed foods, the body burns through nutrients fast—leading to irritability, anxiety, or panic attacks.A deficient diet full of additives and low in whole foods affects serotonin, dopamine, and other key neurotransmitters. When we calm the brain first and nourish the body, meltdowns start to fade.Takeaway: A balanced diet rich in real food, protein, and calming minerals helps stabilize your child's emotions and energy.Need quick relief while you work on those root causes? Try Quick Calm—my proven method to calm the brain fast so you and your child can reset and start fresh.Could my child's mood swings be linked to mineral deficiencies?Absolutely. Research continues to show how essential minerals affect mental well-being and brain function. Here's what parents need to know:Zinc deficiency is linked with attention deficit disorder (ADD/ADHD), depression, and poor immune function.Magnesium supports relaxation and sleep by calming overactive neurons.B vitamins and vitamin D play a critical role in serotonin production—affecting mood and focus.Too much copper or exposure to heavy metals can worsen anxiety, aggression, and brain fog.HTMA testing (Hair Tissue Mineral Analysis) can reveal these hidden imbalances, helping you target the root cause instead of chasing symptoms.

This time out Andy and Mike cover two more recent books. How can recent Batman comics be overlooked? Well, the guys get into that and Hush 2 comes up once or twice. (Note: This episode was recorded in September and since that time the Hush 2 issue Andy and Mike talk about has been delayed even further. Odd that.) Anyway, the first book the guys talk about is Detective Comics #1100. The bulk of the conversation about this issue is the first story and a lot of ground is covered. Batman's role in Gotham, why the Internet meme of Bruce Wayne doing more good donating to social causes rather than beating criminals is crap, Mike's love of dogs, Andy's wife's love of dogs, and so much more. They also talk about why they love Greg Rucka and why the last story should have been put somewhere else in the issue. After that is a conversation about the main story from Batman #150. It was weird how both issues came together themematically. It's almost like Andy and Mike planned it that way. Which they didn't. Andy and Mike want your feedback on this episode so they can read it on an upcoming show! You even have options in how you leave your feedback. The most direct way is to leave a comment right here on the site. You can also send all questions, concerns, fears and trepidations to overlookeddarkknight@gmail.com. Then there's the Facebook page, where you can also leave a Batman related question for Andy and Mike to answer at the beginning of the show. If you talk about this show on the social medias please include a #overlookeddk so the guys know where to find it. The opening theme for the show is Superhero Intro by Stringer Bell and taken from the royalty free site Pixma Bay. Next Time: The first of two episodes talking about Batman in the early 2000s! Andy and Mike talk about three Batman stories written by Ed Brubaker!

Are Your Memories Lying to You? Neuroscientist Dr. Nikolay Kukushkin—NYU clinical associate professor, research fellow, and author of One Hand Clapping—joins Mayim Bialik's Breakdown to BREAK OPEN everything we thought we knew about memory, consciousness, evolution, and the future of humanity. Dr. Kukushkin might be the first to scientifically prove that “the body keeps the score," and he's here to share his groundbreaking research revealing that every cell in the body may have the potential to store memory. What this means for trauma, healing, and everyday life will blow your mind! We explore how human memory evolved, why we remember the way we do, and the hidden purpose memory plays in meaning-making, identity, and human experience. You'll learn how memory is stored, changed, and distorted, why memory is NOT reality, what makes the human experience truly special, and what sea slugs can teach us about being human. We also discuss whether it's more accurate (or useful) to view reality through a materialist vs spiritual lens, how natural selection is far more creative and intelligent than we ever imagined, and whether Artificial Intelligence is humanity's evolutionary path. Dr. Kukushkin reveals what we've been getting wrong about dopamine: its real evolutionary purpose, how to harness this new science to boost motivation, productivity, and well-being, and why social media “dopamine hits” are so addictive - and so damaging. Dr. Kukushkin also breaks down: - Overlooked implications of being a carbon-based species - Sinister effects of sleep deprivation - Can the human brain ever reach its memory capacity? - What happens when we're downloading too much information from our environment - What happens when we outsource our language abilities to technology? - What are the consequences of forming human-like emotional connections with chatbots? - Is there hope that we will return to using our brain's full cognitive power? PLUS...the spiritual experiences technology can never replicate, and why real life will always give us what machines can't! We discuss: Ethiopia's recent Tigray War and why it proved so consequential for the Horn of Africa How the federal government — with Eritrean support — turned against the Tigray region despite its long rule in Ethiopia Martin's personal story of growing up in apartheid South Africa and his early political activism His current work on the history of African slavery and common misconceptions surrounding it Speaking of slavery in Africa, Martin's latest book Unbroken Chains: A 5,000-Year History of African Enslavement has recently been published. Do you ever feel unqualified, overlooked, or "not the one" God would choose? Then this episode will speak directly to you—and to every student you serve. In this powerful episode of Youth Worker on Fire, Doug Edwards shares why God consistently chooses the least impressive, least equipped, and least likely people to accomplish His greatest work. Drawing from Draw the Circle by Mark Batterson, the story of Gideon, and the extraordinary life of George Müller, Doug reveals how God delights in using ordinary, insecure, underestimated people to confound the wise. Through Scripture, real ministry stories, and honest reflection, Doug unpacks: ✅ Why God calls people no one else would choose ✅ How Gideon's insecurity became the doorway to his calling ✅ Why asking God for confirmation (a "fleece") must always align with Scripture ✅ George Müller's incredible faith—30,000 answered prayers ✅ The key to kingdom productivity: work hard, but trust God more ✅ Why students need to know that being "the least" positions them for God's greatest impact ✅ Doug's own journey from "not qualified" to 35 years of student ministry influence This episode is a must-listen for anyone investing in the next generation—youth pastors, ministry volunteers, student leaders, teachers, coaches, and parents—and for every student who feels unseen, insecure, or unqualified. If God has called you (or your students), He will provide everything needed. When God gives a vision, He always makes provision. __________________________________________________________________________________

https://teachhoops.com/https://teachhoops.com/ The most impactful coaching tip has nothing to do with X's and O's, a new press-breaker, or a clever zone defense. It's the simple truth that you must coach the person before you can ever effectively coach the player. We often get so focused on skills, schemes, and results that we forget we are leading young people, not basketball-playing robots. The foundation of all great coaching is a human connection. If a player believes you genuinely care about them as an individual—their life, their goals, their challenges—they will build a level of trust that unlocks a willingness to be coached, pushed, and corrected. This "connection first" philosophy revolutionizes your communication. When you know your players as people, you know how to talk to them. Some players need loud, public encouragement to fuel them, while others need a quiet, one-on-one conversation to absorb a lesson. Your feedback becomes more effective because it's tailored. Instead of a generic "play harder," you can say, "I know you're a great competitor, but your body language on that last turnover didn't reflect that. We need you. Stay present with us." This shows you are coaching their performance from a place of high personal regard, not just frustration with a mistake. Ultimately, building this trust is what allows you to hold players to a high standard without creating resentment or fear. When a player knows, without a doubt, that you are 100% on their side and invested in their success off the court, they will accept and even seek out hard coaching on the court. They will understand that your criticism of their game is not a criticism of their character. This trust is the currency of leadership; without it, you're just a person yelling in a gym, but with it, you have the power to truly teach, motivate, and transform your team. George Tsilis points to the company's 2026 order expectations and a bullish view on A.I. electricity needs. CBRE Investment Management's Co-CEO and CIO, Adam Gallistel, offers insights on where real assets investors can find strong return opportunities in today's market. He discusses shifting strategies amid higher interest rates, alternative asset classes, the role of operational expertise and why Europe offers attractive relative value right now. Prioritize operations and asset selection: Gallistel emphasizes that “hope is not a strategy”—returns will come from income growth and strong asset selection rather than relying on market-driven cap rate compression. Diversification matters: Niche sectors like data centers and student housing offer non-correlated income streams and resilience compared to traditional “big four” asset classes. Europe looks compelling: Europe offers relative value and growth potential, making it an attractive complement to a U.S. property portfolio. Infrastructure and power are critical: CBRE IM is investing in solutions like battery storage and renewable energy to capitalize on growing demand for power in the digital economy. Overlooked markets show promise: Gallistel sees opportunities in U.S. Midwest real estate markets as supply dynamics shift.

More than one in five babies are now born by C-section, and the numbers are expected to reach nearly one-third of all births by 2030, despite many cases lacking clear medical necessity Researchers from Stanford University found that C-section mothers were far more likely to experience severe postpartum pain and disrupted sleep, with over two-thirds reporting discomfort that interfered with rest and recovery Nationwide data showed that women who delivered by C-section were 16% more likely to develop new sleep disorders within a year after birth, including insomnia, sleep deprivation, and sleep apnea C-sections carry higher risks of infection, hemorrhage, blood clots, and complications in future pregnancies, while babies born this way face increased chances of respiratory distress, allergies, and autism Many cesarean deliveries can be avoided with the right preparation. Choosing a provider who supports natural birth, staying physically active, managing stress, and maintaining a healthy weight all lowers your risk
There's history, and then there's oral history. And when it comes to the impacts of war on those who fight them — oral history opens doors to the past that would otherwise stay firmly shut. Michael Petrou, an historian with the Canadian War Museum, argues oral history is especially valuable because it allows us to hear from people "whose voices are quiet, downplayed, or ignored." Their untold stories provide a fuller picture of how war shapes people and societies.
