In this week's edition of the BEST OF Daniel Cormier, we look at back at interviews with Merab Dvalishvili and Kayla Harrison ahead of defending and winning UFC championships at UFC 316 in Newark, New Jersey! Dvalishvili speaks on how he was ready to finish Sean O'Malley, his hilarious viral videos including his moment with Aline Perez, and why he punched one of DC's gym friends. And don't miss Kayla Harrison's awesome interview with Cormier where they talk Khabib Nurmagomedov, the fight with Amanda Nunes soon to come, and why Julianna Peña is just like her own chihuahua. #Volume #HerdSee omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.
Merab Dvalishvili continued his dominate run in the Bantamweight division with his submission victory over Sean O'Malley at UFC 316 in a title rematch. He continues to get better with age and the fellas ponder how he can be stopped. Kayla Harrison claimed the Women's Bantamweight title defeating Julianna Peña via submission. Amanda Nunes could be next for Harrison in a highly-anticipated superfight. Patchy Mix made an underwhelming UFC debut against Mario Bautista. Is this proof that there's a huge gap between the UFC and every other MMA promotion or was Mix just outmatched? Plus drama with Keyshawn Davis after he didn't make weight and was stripped of his title when his match against Edwin De Los Santos was canceled. To top it off, he was ejected from the arena where his brother Kelvin Davis had just fought against Nahir Albright, after allegedly assaulting Albright post-match. Can Keyshawn Davis ever recover from this dreadful weekend? And Dana White revealed that Jon Jones already accepted the fight against Tom Aspinall. Will the fight actually go down this calendar year? Join Luke Thomas, Brian Campbell and the entire Morning Kombat crew, live in studio on a Monday!See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

Daniel Cormier gives you his INSTANT REACTION live from the octagon to UFC 316 in Newark, New Jersey after an incredible night of fights. Merab Dvalishvili capped the night with a submission victory over "Suga" Sean O'Malley in the main event. DC says Dvalishvili beat the best version of O'Malley, who looked significantly better than in their first fight at The Sphere. Kayla Harrison submitted Julianna Peña in the co-main event to become a UFC champion, and immediately following her win she called out women's UFC GOAT Amanda Nunes and the two faced off in the octagon! Cormier breaks down the Nunes vs. Harrison fight and why that is one of THE BIGGEST WOMEN'S FIGHTS in the history of the UFC. DC also talks Kevin Holland's impressive victory, Patchy Mix's disappointing debut, and his fighter of the night award. #Volume #HerdSee omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

With UFC 316 just days away, Matt and Jim welcome two fighters making their second appearances on Unfiltered: rising flyweight Joshua Van and heavy-hitting welterweight Khaos Williams. Focused and self-aware, Joshua explains why he's preparing for the best version of Silva — knowing how dangerous a fighter can be coming off a loss.
The odds don't look very competitive headed into the dueling title fights atop Saturday's UFC 316. Merab Dvalishvili and Kayla Harrison are both pretty big favorites over their opponents (challenger Sean O'Malley and chalmpion Julianna Peña, respectively). The line on Harrison, in fact, is outlandish — though that fight is admittedly most interesting because of what a Kayla Harrison title reign might look like at women's bantamweight, not necessarily because we expect it to be close. As for O'Malley, is there anything he can do differently against Merab this time around? Aside from not J'ing the peen? Also, Maycee Barber couldn't make the walk last weekend. In and of itself, that doesn't seem like a HUGE deal. Buuuuut … is it indicative of larger, more dire issues with the UFC right now? Learn more about your ad choices. Visit megaphone.fm/adchoices

On today's episode of UFC Unfiltered, Jim Norton and Matt Serra are joined by two familiar friends of the show: lightweight Jared Gordon and women's bantamweight champion Julianna Peña. Fresh off a decisive first-round stoppage win, Jared breaks down the finish and reflects on how his recovery journey has strengthened his mindset inside the cage. After revealing he's now a proud girl dad to a 4-month-old daughter, Jared gets a laugh out of Matt's hilarious (and slightly scathing) story about a young YouTuber who kicked off their interview by asking Matt what it's like to be the same height as a kid — prompting Matt to jokingly offer up his daughter for a grappling match with the young content creator. Shortly after, Jim and Matt's interview with Julianna Peña kicks off with some sparks, as she joins mid-sentence — just as the guys are in the middle of complimenting her, saying she's not getting the respect she deserves ahead of UFC 316. Once they clear up the misunderstanding, the conversation shifts into an engaging breakdown of her matchup with Kayla Harrison. Julianna talks about being an underdog throughout her career, staying focused through the noise, and how she's preparing for Kayla's unique skill set. Plus, she weighs in on the looming possibility of a high-stakes trilogy with Amanda Nunes.
On today's episode of UFC Unfiltered, Jim and Matt are joined by two fighters representing different eras of Brazilian greatness. First, surging featherweight Jean Silva drops in for his Unfiltered debut to discuss his standing as a 145-pound title contender after beginning his unblemished 5-0 UFC tenure with each win coming via stoppage. Silva reflects on his statement victory over Bryce Mitchell, how Muay Thai turned his life around, and why he channels an alter ego called “Lord Assassin” every time he fights. Later, UFC legend Amanda Nunes returns for her 14th appearance on the show. Nearly two years removed from retiring on top with a win over Irene Aldana, the soon-to-be UFC Hall of Famer opens up about life outside the Octagon, balancing family and fitness, and what it would mean to dust off her gloves for a title shot against the winner of UFC 316's co-main event between Julianna Peña and Kayla Harrison.
Danny Segura entrevista a Ailín Pérez acerca de un posible regreso de Amanda Nunes a UFC, Julianna Peña vs. Kayla Harrison en UFC 316, el llamado de Nora Cornolle en UFC 314 y mucho más.

At long, at last… Jim Norton is back! After doing super cool actor stuff, Matt's comedic partner in crime makes his glorious return to the show for an episode of UFC Unfiltered that invites middleweight Anthony “Fluffy” Hernandez and women's bantamweight Kayla Harrison on for a pair of chats. Fresh off a dominant win over Michel Pereira in his first-ever UFC main event, Hernandez explains how his even-keeled demeanor allows him to shake off the pressure. What's more: a big-name contender surprises Jim and Matt by barging in on the call to vouch for Hernandez's work ethic! When Jim and Matt catch up with Kayla Harrison, the 2nd-ranked women's bantamweight reiterates her full-fledged confidence in the way she matches up against Julianna Peña — so much so that Kayla fires some shots at the newly-crowned champion for dodging the smoke.

On this episode of Good Guy / Bad Guy…They say “you don't have to post everything on social media.” (especially when it's a fresh cut you suffered just a few weeks out from a title fight) Well, Bantamweight Champ Sean O'Malley may have an advantage over Merab Dvalishvili after “The Machine” took to his socials to show off a fresh cut over his eyebrow.
